UNTIL DAWN - A very acceptable adaptation

Hello friends I hope you are well, it's a pleasure to be here, it's been a little complicated week for me in health issues that's why I've been a little absent. Today I bring you a movie that is quite new 2025, and the truth is that now at this stage of my life I am not too much of a fan of gory or extreme horror movies, however this one caught my attention and I found it interesting.

It is of the genre horror suspense and the truth is that I also feel that it is half science fiction, as situations happen where they do something like experiments, as a curious fact this movie is based on a PlayStation 4 game, it has a duration of 1 hour and 48 minutes, and I must say first of all that when you start watching it gives me the feeling as if it were an inspiration to the movie or the game Silent Hill, has an air but no doubt the latter plays more with the minds of their victims.

A movie that if you suffer from nerves may not be for you, rather than give any spoilers or a summary, I feel it is a pretty interesting installment as it gives you a spooky atmosphere which keeps you in expectation. A group of guys decide to go investigate the disappearance of their friend's sister, yes it may lend some things that may seem familiar to you in terms of some guys always going where the darkness and danger is most exposed, or if they see that door half open and dark, they go in there.

However, the film has an atmosphere that makes it striking, there is a time loop that never seems to end and this makes it a torture. It seems that this place where they arrived is cursed and at the same time a series of experiments with human beings where no one has come out alive. I want to highlight the performance of the first actor Peter Stormare who has done incredible work in films like Constantine, Armageddon and others. The young actors who could be said to be the main characters are not very well known to me. Although it falls into some clichés there are many things that can be rescued and makes it a film that manages to bring a good narrative.

It's definitely something you feel like you've seen before in other movies as I mentioned, it can have a bit of an aura like the FROM series or some things like the Silent Hill movie saga and that loop that is pretty typical in some horror movies. It's entertaining and the truth is I wasn't bored watching it, I enjoyed refreshing my mind a bit and remembering how interesting horror movies are.

I would give it a healthy score of 7/10, it has many things that we have already seen in other movies, but it is still interesting and can give us a moment of entertainment, it would be good to get a second part, but I hope they give something a little more original, with respect to editing the special effects were pretty good.
