The first new cast members for Jumanji 3 have been announced.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the world of Jumanji is set to return with a new game, as Sony will officially begin production on the sequel to the popular franchise in November in Los Angeles. The untitled film will see Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, and Karen Gillan reprise their roles, with Jake Kasdan returning to direct. Jumanji 3 is set for a December 11, 2026 release.

Alongside the main cast, Brittany O’Grady, who starred in the first season of the critically acclaimed series The White Lotus, will be a newcomer. Also joining the cast is Bern Gorman, who starred in Beetlejuice and The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes.

The film is produced by Matt Tolmach, Dwayne Johnson, Danny Garcia, Hiram Garcia, and Jake Kasdan, and the script is written by Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg. Plot details are being kept under wraps, but it is expected to continue the same adventurous and exciting world of the previous installments.

Jumanji was originally based on the 1981 graphic novel by Chris Van Allsburg, and the classic film version was made into a huge hit in 1995 starring Robin Williams. Its modern remake in 2017, titled Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, redefined the world of gaming in the video game genre and grossed $962.5 million worldwide, paving the way for Jumanji: The Next Level, which grossed over $800 million.

The new installment could thus be considered the fourth film in the series, or the third installment in the modern version centered on Johnson, Hart, Black, and Gillan. Cast members from previous installments are also expected to return, including Alex Wolff, Madison Iceman, Serdarius Blaine, Morgan Turner, and Awkwafina. Details on O'Grady and Gorman's roles have not yet been revealed.
