Tetris: When everything finally falls into place. [Review] - [ENG+ESP]

I will start by saying that this is perhaps one of the best movies about the business world I have seen, what it does, it does very well. I'm sick and in little mood to write, so I'll keep it short, however, I didn't want to stop giving my opinion on this work, which, in itself, has it all. Both the story and the script are a 9/10. Its dialogues are interesting, the actors do very well and overall it is very entertaining, I think that more than a drama it is an interesting business adventure with its touch of comedy, action and drama. While it is a movie full of dialogues (some good some not so good) it never gets boring.

We witnessed a very good performance by Taron Egerton (Kingsman 2014 and 2017, Elton John biopic and Rocketman, 2019). I tell you a little, the plot: it is based on "some" true events, about the Soviet origin of the spectacular game TETRIS. With fast-paced action from start to finish, Egerton will play Henk Rogers, a businessman who after a series of events managed to get the international rights to the game, created in 1984 by Alexey Pajitnov and we will see the legal disputes (implausible to some extent) between several companies.

Empezaré diciendo que esta es quizás una de las mejores películas sobre el mundo empresarial que he visto, lo que hace, lo hace muy bien. Estoy enfermo y con pocos ánimos de escribir, así que lo haré corto, sin embargo, no quería dejar de dar mi opinión sobre esta obra, que, en sí, lo tiene todo. Tanto la historia como el guion son un 9/10. Sus diálogos son interesantes, los actores lo hacen muy bien y en general es muy entretenida, creo que más que un drama es una aventura empresarial interesante con su toque de comedia, acción y drama. Si bien es una película llena de diálogos (algunos buenos otros no tanto) nunca aburre.

Presenciamos una muy buena actuación por parte de Taron Egerton (Kingsman 2014 y 2017, Biopic de Elton John y Rocketman, 2019). Les cuento un poco, la trama: está basada en “algunos” hechos reales, sobre el origen soviético del espectacular juego TETRIS. Con acción vertiginosa de inicio a fin, Egerton interpretará a Henk Rogers, un empresario que tras una serie de sucesos logro conseguir los derechos internacionales del juego, creado en 1984 por Alexey Pajitnov y veremos las disputas legales (inverosímiles hasta cierto punto) entre varias compañías.

I am a lover of video games and a movie related to this world never seemed so exciting to me and all without the need of having incredible action scenes and CGI. As the movie progresses, it keeps you on the edge of your seat thanks to the excellent and well raised theme of the fight for the legal rights of TETRIS. It should be noted that the game is one of the most successful franchises in the history of video games, selling more than 200 million units.

The audiovisual effects (original, funny and very well coupled to the plot of the movie) are well done, allowing us to get an idea of what life was like in the Soviet Union in those years. The soundtrack is an essential part of this film, as it perfectly accompanies each scene, something that makes this little gem even more enjoyable. It has a very satisfying ending and seeing that Game Boy in prototype was really incredible. I don't know how many liberties they took when it came to telling the real story, but honestly in the movie it came out very well. All this with its load of cool positive and nice messages like: take a chance, freedom, friendship, etc.

Soy amante de los videojuegos y una película relacionada con este mundo nunca me pareció tan emocionante y todo sin necesidad de tener increíbles escenas de acción y CGI. A medida que la película avanza, te mantiene al filo del asiento gracias al excelente y bien planteado que está el tema de la lucha por los derechos legales del TETRIS. Cabe señalar que el juego es una de las franquicias más exitosas de la historia de los videojuegos, vendiendo más de 200 millones de unidades.

Mención aparte, sus efectos audiovisuales (originales, divertidos y muy bien acoplados a la trama de la película) están bien logrados, permitiéndonos hacernos una idea de cómo era la vida en la Unión Soviética en esos años. La banda sonora forma una parte esencial de esta película, pues acompaña perfectamente cada escena, algo que hace aún más disfrutable a esta joyita. Tiene un final muy satisfactorio y ver esa Game Boy en prototipo fue realmente increíble. No sé qué tantas libertades se hayan tomado en cuanto a la hora de contar la historia real, pero sinceramente en la película les quedó muy bien. Todo esto con su carga de frescos mensajes positivos y agradables como: arriésgate, la libertad, la amistad, etc.

Anyway, I think it is one of those movies that you can watch with the whole family (although it is more appropriate for adults, as children may not enjoy it as much). I was missing a movie that shows the complications of the world, but also tells you that all is not lost and that sometimes everything just works out. I found it to be a film that gives faithful testimony of the times, of how ideologies work and continue to work, and that these are the ones that cause division among us and that cannot continue like this.

En fin, considero que es una de esas películas que puedes ver con toda la familia (aunque es más apropiada para adultos, ya que quizás los niños no la disfruten tanto). Por mi parte ya extrañaba una película que mostrará las complicaciones del mundo, pero que también te dice que no todo está perdido y que a veces simplemente sale todo bien. Me pareció una película que da fiel testimonio de la época, de cómo funcionan y siguen funcionando las ideologías, y que son estas las que causan división entre nosotros y eso no puede continuar así.
