Hola amigos y amigas amantes del cine, es un placer saludarles y regresar por la comunidad con una nueva reseña cinematográfica. En el cine, existe este género que en lo particular llama mucho mi atención, aunque en realidad disfruto de todos. Cada cual tiene lo suyo, como esa especie de magia que posee el arte cinematográfico, para poder contarnos historias. En la gran pantalla no hay límites y nada puede atentar contra el hecho de ir más allá. Escapando de la propia imaginación del ser humano y aportándole diferentes mundos a la cultura del nuestro.

Hello friends and friends film lovers, it is a pleasure to greet you and return to the community with a new film review. In cinema, there is this genre that particularly calls my attention, although I really enjoy all of them. Each one has its own thing, like that kind of magic that the art of cinema possesses, to be able to tell us stories. On the big screen, there are no limits and nothing can get in the way of going beyond. Escaping the human imagination and bringing different worlds to our own culture.

Sin embargo, no todo es ficción en este universo audiovisual, aunque a decir verdad, pueden valerse de cualquier recurso creativo bajo la manga, para encantarnos. Pero sucede que, también, existen historias que merecen ser contadas y por eso son llevadas al cine. Muchas fueron escritas por sus propios protagonistas, personas reales con la voluntad suficiente para soñar y cambiar el mundo. Todas estas vidas llevadas al cine, son capaces de emocionar a multitudes, nos muestran lo ocurrido detrás de la fachada de un determinado momento, o de alguien importante. Que conocimos porque terminaron convirtiéndose en leyendas y tras su vida se volvieron los protagonistas de los libros de historia.

However, not everything is fiction in this audiovisual universe, although, to tell the truth, they can use any creative resource up their sleeves to enchant us. But it also happens that there are stories that deserve to be told and that is why they are made into films. Many of them were written by their own protagonists, real people with enough will to dream and change the world. All these lives brought to the cinema are capable of moving crowds, they show us what happened behind the façade of a certain moment, or of someone important. Who we knew because they ended up becoming legends and after their lives they became the protagonists of history books.

En el día hoy, para los amigos de la comunidad Movies & TV Shows en Hive, les traigo la reseña de una de estas películas de tema biográfico. Se trata de la película Elvis, la cual fue estrenada en el año 2022 y que fue dirigida por Baz Luhrmann. En ella se muestra la biografía de una de las estrellas más icónicas del espectáculo a escala mundial, como lo fuera Elvis Presley. Este filme es todo un espectáculo visual a la altura de la estrella, además la producción supo apoyarse de disímiles recursos narrativos, para capturar la vida y legado musical de Elvis Presley, el Rey del Rock and Roll. Estuvo protagonizada por Austin Butler como Elvis y acompañando en este rol por un actor más que experimentado, del cual hemos hablado en otros artículos, el legendario Tom Hanks, como el Coronel Tom Parker.

It is the film Elvis, which was released in the year 2022 and was directed by Baz Luhrmann. It shows the biography of one of the world's most iconic entertainment stars, Elvis Presley. The film is a visual spectacle on a par with the star, and the production used a variety of narrative devices to capture the life and musical legacy of Elvis Presley, the King of Rock and Roll. En Elvis puede percibirse, desde los primeros minutos de la película, que no estamos ante la convencional biografía que recoge, al detalle, todos los rasgos del protagonista de la historia. Si no que estamos ante una mezcla bien lograda de varios elementos históricos, eso sí, con sus licencias creativas que nos va llevando en un viaje hacia lo inexplorado desde la ascensión, el estrellato y el final de una de las figuras más influyentes del siglo XX. El filme cuenta con una duración de 159 minutos, para nada aburrido, en donde se logra mantenernos entretenidos mientras disfrutamos de un gran espectáculo visual.

In Elvis, from the very first minutes of the film, it is clear that we are not dealing with a conventional biography that covers, in detail, all the features of the protagonist of the story. Instead, we are faced with a well-crafted mixture of various historical elements, albeit with its creative licences, which takes us on a journey into the unexplored from the rise, stardom and end of one of the most influential figures of the 20th century. The film has a running time of 159 minutes, not at all boring, and manages to keep us entertained while we enjoy a great visual spectacle.

En la película, se nos cuenta la vida de Elvis, desde su infancia en Tupelo, Mississippi, hasta adentrarnos en el pasaje de su vida camino al éxito y la muerte en 1977. Todo esto desde la perspectiva de su controvertido mánager, el Coronel Parker, quien es el encargado de relatarnos la fascinante historia del Rey. La interpretación de Austin Butler es de cierto modo aplaudible; como el joven actor logra capturar la esencia del cantante. Sin el uso de recursos artísticos que lo llevasen a la satírica, pero sí con una energía que recrea de manera precisa los movimientos y la voz de Elvis Presley.

In the film, we are told the life of Elvis, from his childhood in Tupelo, Mississippi, to the passage of his life on the road to success and death in 1977. All this from the perspective of his controversial manager, Colonel Parker, who tells the fascinating story of the King. Austin Butler's performance is somewhat applaudable; how the young actor manages to capture the essence of the singer. Without the use of artistic devices that would lead to satire, but with an energy that accurately recreates the movements and voice of Elvis Presley.

Cuando me animé a ver Elvis pensé que sería uno de estos filmes musicales de moda que trato de evitar; en cambio, resultó ser un espectáculo deslumbrante. Aunque no sé qué tan fiel a los hechos reales, pudiera llegar a ser la película, lo que sí pudiera ser trascendental es que captura el espíritu de una leyenda tan querida como lo fue Elvis Presley. La cinta es una divertida propuesta, para que las nuevas generaciones disfruten de conocer la vida y obra de una de las estrellas más grandes del espectáculo.

When I went to see Elvis I thought it would be one of those trendy musical films I try to avoid; instead, it turned out to be a dazzling spectacle. Although I don't know how faithful to the real events the film might be, what might be transcendental is that it captures the spirit of such a beloved legend as Elvis Presley. The film is a fun proposal for new generations to enjoy learning about the life and work of one of the biggest stars of show business.
