¡Hola amigos #Hive y de la comunidad Movies & TV Shows! Hoy quiero compartirles mi opinión sobre una nueva película que vi recién en casa. Se trata de la nueva adaptación cinematográfica, de la novela homónima de Ruth Ware, La mujer del camarote 10. La cual fue dirigida por Simon Stone, y confieso que esta película me tuvo atrapado durante sus 92 minutos de duración. Aunque por momentos me sentí desorientado con algunos tropiezos del misterio de la cinta.
La trama del largometraje gira en torno a Laura, quien es interpretada magistralmente por la actriz Keira Knightley, en el papel de una periodista de investigación londinense. Quien arrastra el trauma de un caso anterior, en donde una fuente suya fue asesinada. Y con la intención de desconectar de este trauma, recibe una misteriosa y casual invitación, prácticamente soñada: para cubrir el viaje inaugural del Aurora Borealis.
Un yate de lujo que, surcaría las costas noruegas en una gira benéfica, organizada por el millonario Richard Bullmer (Guy Pearce) y su esposa enferma de cáncer, Anne (Lisa Loven Kongsli). El ambiente en dicho yate es puro glamour: con cenas elegantes, influencers posando en cubiertas relucientes, y hasta un rockero excéntrico (Paul Kaye).
Lo que parecía un sueño periodístico para esta chica, se convirtió rápidamente en un trago amargo, que apenas en la primera noche, le dio comienzo a una serie de eventos que ponen a prueba sus cualidades.
Lo que hace brillar en mi opinión a esta película, es la capacidad visual para construir paranoia en este espacio claustrofóbico. La dirección de la cinta logra aprovechar el yate para contar la historia, entre pasillos y laberínticos que se confunden en la niebla, balcones que asoma a un océano negro e implacable. El alma de la cinta recae en Keira Knightley. La actriz despliega una vulnerabilidad cruda que la hace relatable y feroz a partes iguales.
Con solo hora y media de rodaje, el misterio se acelera demasiado, revelando giros tempranos que diluyen un poco la tensión. Aunque a decir verdad por mucho que uno se imagina las cosas, al final todo sale a reducir como esa cura necesaria al suspenso. No se trata de una película que reinvente el género, sin embargo, creo que logra entretener con clase, gracias a Knightley y a un escenario que hipnotiza.
En mi opinión personal, considero que la película está muy bien lograda. Recuerdo que la comencé a ver sin esperar demasiado y terminó sorprendiéndome. Si eres de los que gustan los misterios cerrados, con catarsis, y mucho drama humano, pues Netflix tiene esta nueva entrega para ti. ¡Hasta la próxima amantes del cine!

It's the new film adaptation of Ruth Ware's novel of the same name, The Woman in Cabin 10. It was directed by Simon Stone, and I must admit that this film had me hooked for its entire 92-minute runtime. Although at times I felt disoriented by some of the film's mystery plot twists.
The plot of the feature film revolves around Laura, who is masterfully played by actress Keira Knightley in the role of a London investigative journalist. She is haunted by the trauma of a previous case in which one of her sources was murdered. With the intention of disconnecting from this trauma, she receives a mysterious and unexpected invitation, practically a dream come true: to cover the maiden voyage of the Aurora Borealis.
A luxury yacht that would sail along the Norwegian coast on a charity tour organised by millionaire Richard Bullmer (Guy Pearce) and his cancer-stricken wife, Anne (Lisa Loven Kongsli). The atmosphere on the yacht is pure glamour: elegant dinners, influencers posing on gleaming decks, and even an eccentric rocker (Paul Kaye).
What seemed like a journalist's dream for this girl quickly turned into a bitter pill to swallow, as on the very first night, a series of events began that would test her qualities.
What makes this film shine, in my opinion, is its visual ability to build paranoia in this claustrophobic space. The film's direction manages to use the yacht to tell the story, with labyrinthine corridors that blur into the fog and balconies overlooking a black and relentless ocean. The soul of the film lies with Keira Knightley. The actress displays a raw vulnerability that makes her both relatable and fierce in equal measure.
At only an hour and a half long, the mystery accelerates too quickly, revealing early twists that dilute the tension a bit. Although, to tell the truth, no matter how much one imagines things, in the end everything boils down to that necessary cure for suspense. This is not a film that reinvents the genre, but I think it manages to entertain with class, thanks to Knightley and a mesmerising setting.
In my personal opinion, I think the film is very well done. I remember starting to watch it without expecting much and it ended up surprising me. If you are someone who likes closed mysteries, with catharsis and a lot of human drama, then Netflix has this new release for you. See you next time, film lovers!
