Hay películas que sin duda te lleva a encontrarte con ese pasado que en ocasiones añoramos los adultos. Ser niños, despreocupados, solo estar pendiente de despertar y jugar. Me imagino que como yo, muchos de niños deseaban ser adultos y hoy comparten conmigo ese sentimiento que intento resaltar. Hace unos días vi una publicación en las diferentes páginas de cine que sigo que me sorprendió. La noticia de los 36 años de ¡Cowanbunga! ¿La recuerdan? Esa película que sin duda nos hizo amar aún más a las Tortugas ninja. Por supuesto que al ver esa noticia no lo pensé mucho y me dirigí a mi Tv, a Xuper y buscarla dentro de su gran catálogo.

There are movies that undoubtedly take you back to that past we adults sometimes long for. Being a child, carefree, just looking forward to waking up and playing. I imagine that, like me, many of you as children wanted to be adults, and today you share with me that sentiment I’m trying to highlight. A few days ago, I saw a post on the various movie sites I follow that surprised me. The news about the 36th anniversary of Cowanbunga! Do you remember it? That movie that undoubtedly made us love the Ninja Turtles even more. Of course, when I saw that news, I didn’t think twice and headed to my TV, to Xuper, to look for it in their vast catalog.

No recuerdo la ultima vez que la había visto, quizás hace 20 años atrás, o menos. Lo curioso es que volver a ver este tipo de películas podemos notar la diferencia del antes y el después del cine sobre todo con la creación de los personajes y esta nueva tecnología CGI (Computer-Generated Imagery) Esta es una tecnología que ayuda a la creación de personajes ya que es una técnica fundamental en el cine que utiliza gráficos digitales para crear o mejorar imágenes en 2D y 3D. esto les permite generar efectos visuales realistas, personajes animados, escenarios ficticios y simulaciones complejas que serían imposibles de lograr con métodos tradicionales como lo es en el caso de esta película donde aún vemos como se usan los trajes animatronicos que tanto nos lleno de magia nuestra creatividad.

I can't remember the last time I saw it maybe 20 years ago, or even less. What’s interesting is that when we watch this type of movie again, we can see the difference in cinema before and after, especially in character creation and this new CGI (Computer-Generated Imagery) technology. This technology aids in character creation, as it’s a fundamental technique in filmmaking that uses digital graphics to create or enhance 2D and 3D images. This allows for the creation of realistic visual effects, animated characters, fictional settings, and complex simulations that would be impossible to achieve with traditional methods as is the case with this film, where we still see the use of animatronic suits that once filled our creativity with so much magic.

Ya deben saber el amor que le tengo a los 90, a su música, mis anécdotas, los juegos, los gritos de mamá por la ventana para entrar a casa. Sin duda que esa falta de internte no nos hizo mal, todo lo contrario, considero que vivimos mucho más que los niños de hoy en dia que viven envueltos en la tecnología. SI hablamos de películas, hace un tiempo recordábamos Querida Encogí a los niños, hoy Las tortugas ninja podrían definir ese año mágico que fue 1990 para el cine comercial, tomando los valores y principios más esenciales del cine ochentero y adaptándolos a la nueva era del séptimo arte. Ante todo estamos ante una película divertidísima y que cumple con sus objetivos y sobretodo entretener.

You probably already know how much I love the ’90s the music, my stories, the games, Mom yelling out the window for us to come inside. There’s no doubt that not having the internet didn’t do us any harm; quite the opposite, actually. I think we experienced life much more fully than kids today, who are constantly wrapped up in technology. Speaking of movies, a while back we were reminiscing about Honey, I Shrunk the Kids; today, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles could define that magical year that was 1990 for commercial cinema, taking the most essential values and principles of ’80s cinema and adapting them to the new era of the art form. Above all, this is a hilarious movie that achieves its goals and, above all, entertains.

Las actuaciones son adecuadas, muy típicas y los efectos bueno, han envejecido pero el el humor de la película sigue intacto. Ahora con otra mirada puedo decir que los trajes están bien hechos aunque cuanto entran en combate se nota qué están hechos los trajes pero ajá, eso no me detuvo para seguir hasta el final. La película aun después de 36 años sus bromas siguen haciendo gracia. Así que si gustan, podrían celebrar estos 36 años reviviendo esta película.

The acting is solid, very authentic, and the special effects are good they’ve aged a bit, but the film’s humor remains intact. Looking back now, I can say the costumes are well made, though when the action starts, you can tell what they’re made of but hey, that didn’t stop me from watching all the way to the end. Even after 36 years, the movie’s jokes are still funny. So if you like it, you could celebrate these 36 years by revisiting this movie.
