[Movie] Papá por siempre - Mrs. Doubtfire (Review) [ESP-ENG] by edwardstobia

Hola amigos || Hello friends
I think I've said this before, but I just can't help thinking it. There are movies we watch that leave a lasting impression on us. So much so that when we watch them again, they strike a completely different chord. In this case, Mrs. Doubtfire is the perfect example of what I’m talking about. This is one of those movies we can consider a family film classic not only because of the incredible Robin Williams but also because of the painful topic it addresses: family separation.

It’s a story with a very beautiful and unique underlying theme. We meet Robin as Daniel Hillard, whom we might consider a disorganized father who, because of his job, remains stuck in a childlike mindset, while his wife Miranda wonderfully portrayed by Sally Field is the complete opposite: she is more focused on her roles as a mother, a working woman, a homemaker, and raising their three children. And this is when divorce begins to seem like a real solution or at least that’s what Miranda thought. I think I’ve said this before, but I just can’t help thinking about it.

Daniel had a job as a voice actor, which made it easier for him to create a character I still remember fondly today. Right after the court granted custody to the children’s mother, Daniel created a truly charismatic character, Mrs. Doubtfire sometimes a bit stern, sometimes a bit zany, but always charming. She is undoubtedly a character who made her mark on comedy history, and even years later, she is still fondly remembered.

It’s not easy to forget scenes like the kitchen fires, the melting makeup, or the silicone prosthesis ha ha ha… Behind all that makeup and a high-pitched voice lies a father trying to figure out how not to lose his connection with the people he loves most in the world: his children. Beyond the laughs, what matters most is the true value of the message one that doesn’t hide the story rooted in empathy. In an era when family films often sought happy endings, this movie takes a much more realistic and healing path.

Another example is the final message Mrs. Doubtfire leaves us at the end of the movie when she replies to a letter from a little girl whose parents are getting divorced. This is one of the film’s most iconic scenes I can assure you that it will bring tears to anyone’s eyes. It’s one of the most moving scenes in 1990s cinema, reminding us that as long as there is love, that person will always be your dad or your mom, no matter the distance.

WOW! Look what you're bringing us, discman boy! 😃😃 Yes, I think it's a piece that defines both Family Separation and Family Unity—the kind of screenwriting work that makes Hollywood what it is!!
I have vague memories of its scenes; it's been decades since I last saw it, haha 😅😅. It's regularly recommended, and I always end up forgetting about it.... It's pretty obvious that family brotherhood isn't really my thing, haha 😜😜
Artists are beings that I find difficult to analyze. It's heartbreaking to see that someone like Robin, whose works developed so many reflections and positive life-motivating lessons, with endings full of complete happiness, had such an abrupt end.... He definitely knew how to act 😔😔

This movie is very entertaining and moving. I really like the chemistry between Sally Field and Robbie Williams.
This is one of the many movies that made me love Robin. The other one is Patch Adams. Do you remember it? It's the one where Williams plays a doctor who uses humor and makes his patients laugh to help them feel better.
Sure, it's one of my favorite movie in his great filmography.
When I was a child I totally loved this movie and also when I rewatch it as an adult I enjoyed it a lot 🌸🌸
A great movie with a profound message—that's right, if there's love, bonds won't be lost despite the distance. I like this film because, through funny scenes, it highlights a social reality that's hard to face, especially for children.
