Una década después es que vengo a ver Revenant: el renacido y sí la verdad es que para que mentirles y decirles lo contrario. Lo importante acá es que después de diez años es que logro ver la película que logró darle el premio más buscado por el actor y del que sinceramente pensé que iba hacer uno de esos actores que partiera cualquier récord de premios pues la verdad después que lo vi en el Titanic, El aviador, Diamante de sangre o Inception consideré que fueron importantes papeles y además con un profesionalismo increíble. Papeles que fueron interpretados por el actor brillantemente pero que aun así no fueron capaces de otorgarle el más preciado de los premios del cine.

A decade later, I finally got around to watching The Revenant, and honestly, why lie and tell you otherwise? The important thing here is that after ten years, I finally got to see the film that won the actor the most coveted award, and I sincerely thought he was going to be one of those actors who would break every award record. After seeing him in Titanic, The Aviator, Blood Diamond, and Inception, I considered those to be important roles, performed with incredible professionalism. Roles that were brilliantly played by the actor but still weren't enough to earn him the most coveted award in cinema.

En estos días de reposo mientras veía Tv a la vieja escuela o sea, para mí es divertido ver por ejemplo en Magigtv canales como Warner o Discovery y no sé, recordar esos que en ocasiones fueron increíble poder disfrutar de la creatividad de los 90 y no sé, no se complica mucho. Mi esposa me dice ¨Chamo pero esa película podemos verla sin publicidad¨ ja ja ja… A lo mejor es que ya soy un viejo maniático ja ja ja… En fin, la cosa fue que estaba buscando que ver y entre pasando los canales (que nota tener que usar el control no solo para subir o bajar volumen ja ja ja) estaban dando esta película pero vi como los ultimo 20 minutos de la película y bueno, la verdad no la había visto y mi esposa me dice ¨Ponla que la quiero volver a ver¨ Y así fue.

These days, while resting, I've been watching old-school TV. For me, it's fun to watch channels like Warner or Discovery on Magigtv and remember those times when it was incredible to enjoy the creativity of the 90s. It's not complicated. My wife says to me, “Honey, we can watch that movie without commercials,” ha ha ha... Maybe I'm just an old geek, ha ha ha... Anyway, the thing was that I was looking for something to watch and while flipping through the channels (how strange to have to use the remote not only to turn the volume up or down, ha ha ha), they were showing this movie, but I only saw the last 20 minutes of it, and well, I hadn't seen it before, and my wife said, “Put it on, I want to see it again.” And so I did.

Para mí es una película extraordinaria sin ningún tipo de desperdicio. La interpretación de DiCaprio definitivamente merecedor del Oscar que, por cierto, en hora buena ja ja… Ya era hora. La dirección de la película es otra obra de arte y ni hablar de la ambientación que es impresionante tanto que parece que estuvieras allí helado de frío. Una película de dos horas y media normalmente me hace bostezar y hasta quedarme dormido si la película no me engancha pero no fue lo que sucedió en esta.

For me, it's an extraordinary film with no wasted moments. DiCaprio's performance definitely deserved the Oscar, which, by the way, was well deserved, ha ha... It was about time. The direction of the film is another work of art, not to mention the setting, which is so impressive that it feels like you're there, frozen cold. A two-and-a-half-hour movie usually makes me yawn and even fall asleep if the movie doesn't hook me, but that wasn't the case with this one.

El maquillaje y el vestuario son otra cosa que admirar. Una de las partes que más me impacto fue el ataque de la osa. Es estremecedor, hasta el punto de que notas su aliento, los arañazos y mordiscos. Es una película llena de maestría, oficio, de realismo crudo. Para mí es altamente recomendable y la película que, si no era esta, de verdad es la oveja negra del rebaño ja ja…

The makeup and costumes are another thing to admire. One of the parts that impacted me the most was the bear attack. It's shocking, to the point that you can feel its breath, the scratches, and the bites. It's a film full of mastery, craftsmanship, and raw realism. For me, it's highly recommended, and if it weren't for this film, it would truly be the black sheep of the flock, ha ha...

Otro punto a su favor es la trama la cual no es tan complicada de entender. Un viaje por la redención de un hombre que toca fondo perdiéndolo absolutamente todo y que solo lo mantenía vivo la sed de venganza pero que al final se da cuenta que eso jamás está en sus manos y que jamás fue lo más importante. Esta travesía de Hugh Glass definitivamente se encuentra en un panorama fantasioso, altamente reflexivo e introspectivo. Todo esto repleto de esas escenas crudas e interpretativas. Realmente una EXCLENTE PELICULA.

Another point in its favor is the plot, which is not that complicated to understand. It is a journey of redemption for a man who hits rock bottom, losing absolutely everything, and whose only motivation for staying alive is his thirst for revenge. However, in the end, he realizes that revenge is never in his hands and that it was never the most important thing. Hugh Glass's journey definitely takes place in a fantastical, highly reflective, and introspective setting. All of this is filled with raw and interpretive scenes. Truly an EXCELLENT FILM.
