Yesterday I was bored and tired, and I wanted to do something to relax, and one of my best options is to watch movies or series, so I started watching the entire Amazon Prime catalog and found the films that are going to be removed from the platform, and I wanted to give them a chance before they removed it, that way I found this movie that although I know I had seen it years ago I really didn't remember the plot very well.

And what a good decision!✨ It's a very interesting work, and the ending leaves you reflective. Despite being an “old movie”, for my taste it is well-made, it manages to grab you and keep you in expectation, and the main plot may not be something innovative, since it has already been used frequently, but the way it is presented is what is captivating. So keep reading to be encouraged to see The Butterfly Effect✨

Ayer estaba aburrida y cansada, y quería hacer algo para relajarme, y una de mis mejores opciones es ver películas o series, así que me puse a ver todo el catálogo de Amazon Prime y encontré los films que van a quitar de la plataforma, y quise darles una oportunidad antes de que lo eliminaran, de esa manera encontré esta película que aunque sé que la había visto hace años realmente no recordaba muy bien la trama.

¡Y qué buena decisión!✨ Es una obra muy interesante, y el final te deja reflexivo. A pesar de ser una "película vieja", para mi gusto está bien hecha, logra atraparte y mantenerte en la expectativa, y puede que la trama principal no sea algo innovador, dado que ya se ha utilizado frecuentemente, pero la manera en que la presentan es lo cautivador. Así que sigue leyendo para que te animes a ver El Efecto Mariposa✨

That's what happens to Evan (played by Ashton Kutcher), a young psychology student who throughout his life has manifested mental gaps at specific crucial moments. As a child, Evan would forget small lapses of time, specifically of traumatic events, and then find it impossible to remember any minute detail. His mother, terrified that he had the same disease as his father, decided to take him to therapy, and from then on he began to write diaries about everything that happened, as a way of trying to keep track of the course of his day.

The one thing Evan never forgets is his friendship with Kayleigh, Tommy, and Lenny. However, due to various circumstances he moves away from his childhood friends, and never sees them again. At the age of 20, in college, he finds his old diaries under his bed and decides to read them again, he is curious again about what happened in those moments he can't remember and tries to contact his old friends to ask them about the events. There he realizes that they have all fallen into their own abyss and failed to maintain a favorable life as he did.

Going back to his friends' lives only reawakens ghosts from the past and hurts scarred wounds, causing one of them to commit suicide. Guilt intoxicates Evan, but you can't go back in time and change the course of events, can you? By re-reading the words he wrote in his childhood and pushing himself to recover those lost memories, his mind manages to travel back in time. At first, he thinks he's finally remembering, but before long he realizes that his present consciousness traveled back in time to his childhood body, and he can control what he does.

Thus, Evan decides to change the course of everything that happened, to avoid misfortunes in the lives of his friends, however, some things are destined to happen and no matter how much you try to change it, the outcome will be similar. No matter how Evan flaps his wings, he will continue to cause hurricanes in the lives of others.

Regresar a la vida de sus amigos, solo logra reanimar fantasmas del pasado y lastimar heridas cicatrizadas, ocasionando el suicidio de uno de ellos. La culpa embriaga a Evan, pero no puedes regresar el tiempo atrás y cambiar el curso de los hechos, ¿o sí? Al volver a leer las palabras que escribió en su infancia y presionarse a sí mismo de recuperar esos recuerdos perdidos, su mente logra viajar al pasado. Al principio cree que finalmente está recordando, pero al poco tiempo se da cuenta de que su consciencia actual viajó al pasado, a su cuerpo de niño, y puede controlar lo que hace.

De esta manera, Evan decide cambiar el transcurso de todo lo que sucedió, para evitar las desgracias en las vidas de sus amigos, no obstante, algunas cosas están destinadas a suceder y sin importar cuanto intentes cambiarlo, el desenlace será similar. Sin importar la forma o intensidad con la que Evan aletee sus alas, seguirá causando huracanes en la vida de los demás.

I think the main reflection that this film tries to give us is that every act is significant, even when we think that what we are doing is a small and unimportant detail, it can actually be the beginning of something bigger. A small act of kindness can save the life of another. It's important to be attentive to the words we give to others, to the actions we take, because every flutter we make in our lives can have consequences in our future.

And that's what the movie is all about, no matter how many times Evan can go back to the past, as long as what he does is under hatred, anger and impulsiveness, he will keep getting equally catastrophic outcomes. The script and direction of the film captivates you with all the plot twists, just when you think the solution to the problems has been found, something else happens and damages absolutely everything. Also, being a thriller it doesn't romanticize any theme, it tries to keep you in expectation and be explicit in telling the story, that's why we see some pretty traumatic elements, but they are the basis of the film.

Creo que la principal reflexión que intenta darnos esta película es que cada acto es significativo, incluso cuando creemos que lo que estamos haciendo es un detalle pequeño y sin importancia, realmente puede ser el comienzo de algo más grande. Un pequeño acto bondadoso puede salvar la vida de otro. Es importante estar atentos a las palabras que le damos a otros, a las acciones que realizamos, porque cada aleteo que demos en nuestra vida puede tener consecuencias en nuestro futuro.

Y de eso se trata la película, no importa cuántas veces Evan pueda regresar al pasado, mientras que lo que haga sea bajo el odio, la ira e impulsividad, seguirá obteniendo desenlaces iguales de catastróficos. El guion y dirección de la película te cautiva por todos los giros de la trama, cuando crees que se encontró la solución a los problemas, otra cosa sucede y daña absolutamente todo. Además, que al ser un thriller no romantiza ningún tema, se trata de mantenerte a la expectativa y ser explícito al contar la historia, por eso vemos algunos elementos bastante traumáticos pero que son la base de la película.

I have seen several Ashton Kutcher movies, I like the work he does, and this movie was no exception, I could feel the frustration and desperation of the character through his performance. Likewise, the theme of time travel is fascinating, since it's always chaos, we have learned that everything happens for a reason; and any small change can unleash a storm, and although you want the characters to have a happy ending because they have really suffered too much, it doesn't happen. Each trip deteriorates the protagonist, psychologically and physically, we observe how he fights against destiny and plays God, we see how the functioning of his brain is altered, and he loses his sanity, until he manages to understand that a good outcome may not be the perfect scenario he wanted to create, but it's the one where everyone was happy on their own.

And, as a romantic, I really waited for the happy ending… and I kept waiting. This movie goes beyond that, some things just aren't for us, they're not meant to happen, no matter how much we force it. In closing, I should mention that most of the movie is in the childhood of the characters, and each child had an excellent performance, even though they were the most complex scenes, they knew how to carry the situation, and that set a more intriguing atmosphere.

He visto varias películas de Ashton Kutcher, me gusta el trabajo que hace, y esta película no fue la excepción, pude sentir la frustración y desesperación del personaje a través de su actuación. De igual manera, es fascinante el tema del viaje del tiempo, dado que siempre es un caos, hemos aprendido de que todo sucede por alguna razón; y cualquier pequeño cambio puede desatar una tormenta, y aunque deseas que los personajes tengan un final feliz porque realmente han sufrido demasiado, eso no sucede. Cada viaje deteriora al protagonista, psicológica y físicamente, observamos como lucha contra el destino y juega a ser Dios, vemos como se va alterando el funcionamiento de su cerebro y pierde la cordura, hasta que logra comprender que un buen desenlace quizás no sea el escenario perfecto que quería crear, pero sí es aquel en donde todos fueron felices por su cuenta.

Y, como una romántica, realmente esperaba por el final feliz… y me quedé esperando. Esta película va más allá que eso, algunas cosas simplemente no son para nosotros, no están destinadas a suceder, sin importar cuanto lo forcemos. Para finalizar, debo mencionar que la mayor parte de la película es en la infancia de los personajes, y cada niño tuvo una actuación excelente, a pesar de que fueron las escenas más complejas, supieron como llevar la situación, y eso estableció un ambiente más intrigante.

"The Butterfly Effect" is a very good movie, if you need something to entertain you and block reality for a moment, from the beginning to the end it keeps you entangled in the mystery of human memory, it will always be amazing for me to appreciate the possible capabilities of our mind✨

A movie that is now almost 20 years old since its release, but I consider that even today it is still outstanding and deserves a chance😌 And remember, next time you give a flutter, even a small one, think of the possible hurricane you can create.

"El Efecto Mariposa" es una muy buena película, si necesitas algo para entretenerte y bloquear la realidad por un momento, desde el principio hasta el final te mantiene enredado en el misterio de la memoria humana, siempre será increíble para mí apreciar las posibles capacidades de nuestra mente✨
