[Movie] X2: X-Men United (2003)

For me, X2 is where this original X-Men saga really found its identity. The first movie introduced the world, but this one feels more confident, darker and much more ambitious. The opening with Nightcrawler is still one of my favorite sequences from the early superhero era.

Para mí, X-Men 2 es donde esta saga original realmente encontró su identidad. La primera película presentó el mundo, pero esta se siente más segura, oscura y mucho más ambiciosa. La secuencia inicial con Nightcrawler todavía es una de mis favoritas de aquella primera época del cine de superhéroes.

Wolverine is once again one of the highlights, but this time his past finally becomes important. His connection with Stryker gives Logan a much more personal conflict, and Hugh Jackman feels even more comfortable as the character.

Wolverine vuelve a ser uno de los puntos fuertes, pero esta vez su pasado finalmente cobra importancia. Su conexión con Stryker le da a Logan un conflicto mucho más personal, y Hugh Jackman se siente todavía más cómodo interpretando al personaje.

What I really like, though, is seeing the X-Men and Magneto forced to work together. The movie makes the conflict between humans and mutants feel much bigger, while Jean Grey's story quietly prepares us for something darker. That ending remains one of the moments I remember most from the original trilogy.

Sin embargo, lo que realmente me gusta es ver a los X-Men y Magneto obligados a trabajar juntos. La película hace que el conflicto entre humanos y mutantes se sienta mucho más grande, mientras la historia de Jean Grey silenciosamente nos prepara para algo más oscuro. Ese final sigue siendo uno de los momentos que más recuerdo de la trilogía original.

For me, X2 improves on the original in almost every way. It has better action, a stronger villain and more emotional weight without losing what made the first movie interesting.

Para mí, X-Men 2 mejora a la original en casi todos los aspectos. Tiene mejor acción, un villano más sólido y mayor peso emocional sin perder aquello que hizo interesante a la primera película.
