La Herencia o diría yo, el ¿castigo? | Reseña [ESP-ENG]

La herencia es una de esas películas en las que esperas una cosa y termina siendo otra. Cuando comencé a verla, anteriormente no había visto ningún avance de ella, así que iba a ciegas. Y es que esta película por lo que su nombre dice, trata de la herencia que ha dejado un hombre con poderes en la política, quien al ser un patriarca, ha buscado mantener durante años, el prestigio y buena reputación de su familia (Los Monroe), a cualquier costo.

La película inicia con un velorio, luego vemos a una familia compuesta por: la viuda y sus dos hijos, rodeados de mucha gente con cara largas y guardaespaldas, dejando en claro lo influyentes y poderosos que son como familia. Luego hay una lectura del testamento y es aqui donde debemos prestar atención. En mi caso, cuando vi la repartición de la herencia, pensé que todo fue muy injusto, pero luego me dije: seguro hay algo mejor para Lauren, interpretada por Lily Collins.

Inheritance is one of those films where you expect one thing and it ends up being something else. When I started watching it, I hadn't seen any preview of it before, so I was going in blind. As the name suggests, this film is about the inheritance left by a man with powers in politics, who, being a patriarch, has sought to maintain the prestige and good reputation of his family (the Monroes) for years, at any cost.

The film opens with a wake, then we see a family consisting of the widow and her two children, surrounded by many people with long faces and bodyguards, making it clear how influential and powerful they are as a family. Then there is a reading of the will and this is where we should pay attention. For me, when I saw the division of the inheritance, I thought it was all very unfair, but then I said to myself: surely there is something better for Lauren, played by Lily Collins.

Durante la película se van mostrando escenas de recuerdos entre Lauren y su papá, él quería que ella siguiera su línea profesional y le veía potencial para seguir los negocios de la familia y es entonces cuando uno sigue creyendo o al menos yo, que el papá le ha dejado algo mejor, que tan solo esa pequeña cantidad de dinero en comparación a lo que recibió su hermano y su madre. Hay escenas que te muestran que Lauren, quiso seguir su propio camino, se casó con alguien que no tenía su mismo estatus familiar y para los Monroe eso era inaceptable.

Luego de que Lauren, recibe un sobre de parte del abogado de su padre y busca todas las pistas sobre lo este dejó alli para ella, la pelicula guarda un poco de suspenso a la hora en que Lauren va a descubrir que hay debajo de la tierra, pero ya luego se vuelve algo repetitiva segun yo y un tanto sin mucho mas sentido. Lauren debe investigar que sucede, la razón de que eso esté alli y en especial luchar consigo misma en cuanto a decidir si dejarlo bajo tierra o sacarlo de allí.

Cabe resaltar la excelente actuación de Simon Pegg, quien juega un papel importante en esta película.

Hay decisiones malas, pero sin duda el villano de esta historia lo descubriras solo al verla y segúntu propio criterio. Para mí, no peor villano que quien deja una herenciano merecida a alguien sin mucha explicación, y solo por un ¿castigo?.

During the film there are flashbacks between Lauren and her father, he wanted her to follow his career path and saw potential for her to follow the family business and it is then that one still believes, or at least I do, that her father has left her something better than just that small amount of money in comparison to what her brother and mother received. There are scenes that show you that Lauren, she wanted to go her own way, she married someone who didn't have the same family status and for the Monroes that was unacceptable.

After Lauren receives an envelope from her father's lawyer and searches for all the clues as to what he left there for her, the film is a bit suspenseful as Lauren goes to find out what's under the ground, but then it gets a bit repetitive and doesn't make much sense to me. Lauren has to investigate what's going on, why it's there and especially struggle with herself as to whether to leave it in the ground or get it out.

Of particular note is the excellent performance by Simon Pegg, who plays an important role in this film.

There are bad decisions, but no doubt the villain of this story you will discover only by watching it and according to your own opinion. For me, there is no worse villain than the one who leaves a deserved inheritance to someone without much explanation, and just for a punishment?
