Making Peace With Wura Amao Adeleke.

It's been a while since the completion of the African magic showcase television series WURA but each time I remember the way the series was concluded I always have these uncountable questions on my mind.

Not till recently when the name just popped in my head then it all clicked that Wura was a tragic hero. Need I tell you that a tragic hero is a character that falls as a result of his or her own mistakes. In her pursuit for wealth Wura was ready to get rid of anything or anyone.

It all started with pa Kuti, Pa Kuti had discovered a big raw gold at the stream and instead of keeping it for himself he called the attention of Mrs Adeleke who was a licensed gold miner in their community to it with the hope that the whole Iperindo community will be able to benefit from it.

On hearing the good intentions of Pa Kuti, Wura got rid of him right there while his cousin Jejeloye Amao watched with surprise. Wura sponsored Pa Kuti's burial and offered his adopted daughter Tumi an appointment at the mine. Oluwafemi was a son to Aunty Labake who happens to be Wura's house keeper, Oluwafemi was at the stream and recorded the scene then threatened Wura with the evidence.

Before long, with the help of Jeje and some other guys Oluwafemi was also taken care of with Wura sponsoring his burial also, she made empty promises which he never fulfilled to Aunty Labake. Before long the list of people that Wura had sent to great beyond became long. Her crimes were usually untraceable due to weak investigation procedures by the police force and they would hardly look her way because she was married to the commissioner of police of the state.

At the end of the day, the adopted daughter ran into trouble with her and Wura ordered her to be taken care of as usual, meanwhile Tumi had discovered and had sent a voice message to Wura that she was her daughter. Before Wura could listen to the massage her order had been carried out so this made her shoot herself on the head there by taking her own life.

LOCATION, SETTINGS AND CHARACTER.

I like the settings and the location of the film. The continuity is good with good ambiance and well translated script. Scarlet Gomez, Fash Lanso , Olumide Adediwura , Ray Adeka, Iremide Adeoye, Martha Ehiyemeh and other characters out did themselves.

THEMES

There are many themes in the series and few of them are themes of unity, unfaithfulness, brutality, love, marriage, celebration, grief amongst others.

MY TAKE

The way tge main character Wura carries herslf us ine thing i live about the film. The coass division between tge rich and the poor, taking the Adeleke and tge Kuti's holhime as a case study. What I don't like about the film is the innocence of commissioner Adeleke to the crimes commited by his wife, the woman he shares his bed with every night. How Egbon Gika was killed and hiw aunty Labake never found out that Wura was responsible for Oluwafemi's death. Lastly how maami(Pa Kuti's wife) never got to know that Wura was Tumi's mother.

Rating

I rate the series seven out of ten based on my opinion.7/10
