Coffee and Kareem

So basically this movie centers on majorly two characters; a police officer (Coffee) and 12 year old kid(Kareem). And there's the middleman between them, or should I say middle woman, Vanessa, who to Coffee is his lover and to Kareem is his mom and only parent because he lost his dad to cancer. It all goes down when Kareem decides to align with a thug who is also a drug dealer to deal with Coffee and catching he and his mom in bed.

But things go sideways when Kareem and Coffee gets to the layout of the drug dealer and witnesses the execution of a dirty cop. This puts Kareem and Coffee on rampage as they drug dealer and his team begin to go after both of them and get rid of them since they are both witnesses, not to mention the fact that Coffee is a police officer which puts them in a lot of danger. Coffee on the other side has much more than just escaping from the hands of these guys but also has to clear his name because he was framed for kidnapping Kareem from school and also having an affiliation with the drug dealer and having a hand in the death of the dirty cop who's execution he witnessed.

The movie is quite hilarious and comprises with a couple of action as well which came with lots of guns blazing here and there, reckless car driving and eventually ending up in explosions, but it weighed more on the comedy aspect. It's the kind of film that you see a few characters and you can tell the kind of mood that it is going to set you in as you watch it. I didn't doubt I was going to have a good time seeing the movie after viewing the trailer. As much as I loved the movie, an aspect I felt was kind of excessive was the use of foul language, especially from the kid Kareem. I felt it was a bit over the top.

Although Coffee's connection with Kareem wasn't really successful at the beginning of the movie, I knew they would eventually get along just fine by the end of the movie, that's the way it always goes. The drama between the two of them was just interestingly funny. The team up between both of them was just incredible, like Batman and Robin. They both made an incredible team.

In a way I could relate with the insecurities of Kareem and Coffee which makes them act tough when deep down they are just soft on the inside but don't want people to ride over them and take them for granted. But thanks to Vanessa who made them realize this and accept it to be the truth.

Aside from Kareem and Coffee who are the main characters in the film, King Bach who happens to be of of the drug dealers gang members was another character I found interesting in the film.

I was totally being fine with him being the only bad guy to make it out of the whole ordeal alive even with few cash stack beneath his shirt. I rate the movie 6.5/10.
