The Last House (2026) - Movie Review
🎬 The Last House (2026) — Movie Review
The Last House is a 2026 Netflix sci-fi thriller directed by Louis Leterrier. The story follows a family that suddenly finds itself mysteriously sealed inside its own home, with dwindling resources and an unknown force preventing them from leaving.
The basic premise immediately caught my attention because it turns an ordinary home into a place where the characters have to question how safe they really are.
🏠 The Story
The movie focuses heavily on survival, mystery and the relationship between the family members.
What I enjoyed most was the feeling of uncertainty. You keep wondering what is happening outside the house and why the family cannot escape.
🎭 What I Liked
The atmosphere is probably the strongest part of the movie. The confined setting creates tension without needing constant action.
The performances from the main cast also help sell the family's fear and uncertainty. The movie's concept is simple, but it gives the story plenty of room to explore survival and family relationships.
⭐ My Rating
Story: 8/10
Acting: 8/10
Suspense: 8.5/10
Visuals: 8/10
⭐ Overall: 8/10
🎬 Final Thoughts
The Last House is a good choice if you enjoy sci-fi, mystery and survival thrillers.
I would recommend going into the movie without reading too many spoilers because discovering the mystery is part of the experience.

Nice first post, @emmalex05 — your review does a great job of explaining why the “sealed inside their own home” premise makes The Last House feel so tense, and I liked how you focused on the atmosphere and the family’s uncertainty instead of just listing plot points. Did the movie’s confined setting work better for you than the performances, or was it the family dynamic that made the biggest impression?
