Just One More Episode, I Promise.

I would keep every promise I make to myself no matter what, but you see the one on the title of this post? A very hard nut to crack.
Just one more episode?
Who are you kidding?

The moment I hear the theme song of my favourite Tv show, my heart races with anticipation. It's like getting a gift box and you can't wait to get home before unwrapping because, you really want to know what's inside. Every time my favorite shows starts, every other thing goes on automatic pause. Typically, everyone knows I'm about to walk into the sitting room and assume my favorite spot on the couch.

Yes, that part is very necessary, you just need that particular spot on the couch to enjoy the show.
Let's not forget the little snacks I have to bring along with me because everything just have to give that perfect feeling and also partly because I know I'm definitely going to spend hours in front of the screen. I might not even want to get up for any reason at all in the fear of missing out an interesting scene. The only thing I will never understand is how the snacks magically disappears to nowhere when the show hasn't even gone halfway. I always bring enough but it's always the case.

Thinking in complicated maths formulas🤔
Like how?

Watching shows back to back in a single sitting is my biggest guilty pleasure. It's a habit I developed in highschool. Previously, I wasn't a fan of sitting for so long watching movies. I hated wasting my internet connection downloading movies especially those ones that come in episodes. But I had friends back then who loved watching movies. I had no issues with that. The part that gets to me is knowing that they're going to come to school the next day and talk about this particular movie they saw throughout the day. I felt left out in the conversations and that's how my binge-watching story started. I joined them downloading movies so we all can have something to talk about the next day.

Sometimes I blame the movie producers for making their movies so captivating and interesting, especially the endings. The beginning of an episode might be so boring and uninteresting, but the ending never fail to make me want to watch the next episode. That's where the problem lies.

I always want to know what happens next.
These producers are using this trick and honestly, they're so good at it. Even after the 20th episode, of course I still want to go for the next one.

All through the movie watching spree, I have those two tiny voices in my head. One constantly reassuring me that I still have a lot of time to finish up the whole movies and do my chores. While on the other hand, the second voice is constantly reminding me to go and do my chores, reminding me that I need to go get that eight hours of sleep, reminding me to take a break for the sake of my precious eyes but I never listen even though I wanted to.

You know what happens when you don't listen to that voice?
I'll tell you.

After successfully going for the whole 30 episodes (that's an exaggeration, but who cares?) and feeling strangely happy with myself, my mom walks in from work and find the whole place in an outrageous mess. No single house activity was done and of course, I got carried away forgetting that I shouldn't have my feet on the table. That's how I know that I'm definitely going to get thoroughly scolded without any pity. Or when I couldn't get barely 3 hours of night sleep, that's when I know that I'll looking like I came straight from hell in the morning and that I'll be having a hard time being productive during the day. I mean, the start of a good day is knowing you got enough sleep the night before, isn't that right?

Movies 1: Me 0

I know I'll always end up on the losing side each time I give in to my guilty pleasure of watching movies back to back. But the truth is, I don't always learn from my mistakes. I'm pretty much sure that I'll probably do the same thing tomorrow like an endless cycle of chasing shadows. Anyways, here's to everyone else going through the same thing, we'll find a way around it some day.

The second voice that keeps reminding you that you need to get 8 hours of sleep has given up on the matter 😂😂 the voice doesn't talk to me anymore

You know what I think?
I think you’ll stop oneday but the sad thing is you would have learned the hard way which would mean you have been deeply affected by then
And we don’t want that so, we better find a way soon.

That's right.
Operation stop all bad habits ASAP

We are all guilty one way or another. Sometimes it’s even worse when all our senses are so into the movie and we forget our surroundings.
We just hope you’re not burning rice and stew at home with the behavior, haha.

I'm definitely not burning anything 😂
Else, I would have been so homeless by now.
