Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency Review: A different way to solve a case [ESP-ENG]

Dirk Gently: Holistic Investigations Agency, is the name of the series that has won all my heart worthy of being in the list of my favorite series, it is simply a work of art for those who know how to appreciate it. Yes, you try to understand or follow a logic, you will end up being disappointed, as this series is all about the unknown, the weird, surreal, fantasy. Surely if I dared to watch Dirk Gently when it premiered 5 years ago I would have ignored it for sure, because at that time in my life I was not in tune with the holistic, the cosmos and the universe.
If what I just mentioned seems weird to you, wait for a I just started, since holistic is the basis of this whole plot, that's why I mentioned it. Let's understand what is holistic, before we start, and in my words, it is to take you to that level of frequency where everything has a reason, an explanation, it is coincidence and at the same time causality, that is, the universe has a plan and it is time to discover it.
I understand that this is where this whole subject is coming from, now this term is more known than a few years ago, surely you have heard of a holistic therapist that integrates an infinity of medicines. So, following the rhythm of this series, I can say that everything is connected and having come across this series now is the perfect time, it was meant to be. After this brief preamble, it's time to know what it's all about, the story.
Dirk Gently: Agencia de investigaciones holísticas, es el nombre de la serie que se ha ganado todo mi corazón digno de estar en la lista de mis series favoritas, es simplemente una obra de arte para quien la sabe apreciar. Sí, tratas de entender o seguir una lógica, te terminarás decepcionando, ya que esta serie se trata de lo desconocido, lo raro, surrealista, fantasía. Seguramente si me atrevía a ver Dirk Gently cuando se estrenó hace 5 años lo habría ignorado con total seguridad, porque en ese momento de mi vida no estaba en sintonía con lo holístico, el cosmos y el universo.
Si lo que te acabo de mencionar te parece raro, espérate que a un acabo de empezar, puesto que lo holístico es la base de toda esta trama, por eso lo mencionó. Entendamos que es holístico, antes de empezar, y dicho con mis palabras es subirte a ese nivel de frecuencia en donde todo tiene una razón, una explicación, es casualidad y a la vez causalidad, es decir, el universo tiene un plan y es hora de descubrirlo.
Entiendo que por ahí se acerca todo este tema, ahora este término es más conocido que hace algunos años, seguramente hayas escuchado de una terapeuta holística que integran una infinidad de medicinas. Así que, siguiendo el ritmo de esta serie, puedo decir que todo está conectado y el haberme encontrado ahora con esta serie, es el momento perfecto, así tenía que ser. Después de este breve preámbulo, es momento de conocer de que se trata, la historia.
As the title mentions, Holistic Investigations Agency, focuses on saving people who are at risk of death and no one else will be able to save them because their rescue requires more subtle and less rudimentary procedures, as would a normal detective who looks at things like fingerprints. Characters who seek to be demure turn out to be important for the universe to remain in a state of balance, hence the story also requires quirky characters, such as a holistic detective, a holistic assassin, psychics, bodyguards, rescuers and more.
Como el título lo menciona, Agencia de investigaciones holísticas, se centra en salvar a personas que están en riesgo de muerte y que nadie más podrá salvarles porque su rescate requiere de procedimientos más sutiles y menos rudimentarios, como lo haría un detective normal que se fija en cosas como huellas dactilares. Los personajes que buscan ser recatados resultan ser importantes para que el universo se mantenga en un estado de equilibrio, por ende, la historia también requiere de personajes extravagantes, como un detective holístico, una asesina holística, psíquicas, guardaespaldas, salvadores y más.
The first episode of the first season opens with the performance of Todd, a failed character with financial problems who later meets Detective Dirk Gently to solve the case of a man investigating his own death. At first it may not make sense at all of what is going on, even for moments while watching I felt overwhelmed and said, what are they showing me! But as the story unfolds events are triggered that indicate that everything is connected, so every detail is important to cracking the case. As the first season unfolds it is evident the methods the main characters use, among these: intuition of what you need, things are paired in sync at the right time.
I really felt a lot of emotion of how everything merged, personally I connected with the characters for their eloquence and innocence and for their phrases they used to justify each event and decision, where destiny is the one in charge of everything, however, the confidence and simplicity of believing that it is so, made it end up becoming a reality. I will stay with the phrase "I am a leaf in the river of the current that is carried away", to get to where it has to get at the right time, and go considering each clue that fate shows it; it is what a holistic detective does.
In the second season the series has a more fantasy rhythm, science fiction and mystery, but just as intriguing as the first season, this time the characters make a dimension jump with the objective of rescuing a child. The plot is the same, inexplicable events that in the end are revealed and concluded successfully.
El primer episodio de la primera temporada inicia con la actuación de Todd, un personaje fracasado con problemas económicos que más adelante se encuentra con el detective Dirk Gently para resolver el caso de un hombre que investiga su propia muerte. Al principio puede no tener sentido nada en absoluto de lo que sucede, incluso por instantes mientras veía me sentía abrumada y dije: ¡qué es lo que me están mostrando! Pero a medida que se desenvuelve la historia se va desencadenando sucesos que indican que todo está conectado, así que cada detalle es importante para descifrar el caso. En lo que va el desarrollo de la primera temporada es evidente los métodos que usan los protagonistas, entre estos: la intuición de lo que necesitas, las cosas se emparejan en sincronía en su momento.
Realmente sentía mucha emoción de como todo se fusionaba, en lo personal conecte con los personajes por su elocuencia e inocencia y por sus frases que utilizaban para justificar cada suceso y decisión, donde el destino es el que se encarga de todo, sin embargo, la confianza y la simplicidad de creer que es así, hacía que termine convirtiéndose en una realidad. Me quedaré con la frase “soy una hoja en el río de la corriente que se deja llevar”, para llegar a donde tiene que llegar en el momento justo, e ir considerando cada pista que el destino lo muestra; es lo que hace un detective holístico.
En la segunda temporada la serie tiene un ritmo más fantasioso, de ciencia ficción y misterio, pero igual de intrigante que la primera temporada, en esta ocasión los personajes hacen un salto de dimensión con el objetivo de hacer el rescate a un niño. La trama es la misma, sucesos inexplicables que al final se van revelando y concluyendo de forma exitosa.

As for the performance of the characters, they all stand out for their good participation, but I will stay with Dirk Gently, a character that gives that humorous and cunning touch to the series, for moments I felt like seeing him to Sheldon Cooper The Big Bang Theory, for being somewhat desperate with his personality. It is fun and if you give it a chance it can teach you a great lesson in terms of having a life of action and magic as when we were children and our imagination was in greater expansion. As an additional fact, the series is based on the novel with the same name as the series, written by Douglas Adams. Since the series was cancelled, I will have to look for the book and finish with the doubts that the second season left me with. Certainly, it is somewhat disappointing that it was cancelled, it had so much more to offer and after having seen such a show it is a bittersweet taste that I will have to get over. En cuanto a la actuación de los personajes destacan todos por su buena participación, pero me quedaré con Dirk Gently un personaje que la da ese toque humorístico y de astucia a la serie, por instantes sentía verlo al Sheldon Cooper The Big Bang Theory, por ser algo desesperante con su personalidad. Es divertida y si le das la oportunidad te puede dejar una gran enseñanza en cuanto tener una vida de acción y mágica como cuando éramos niños y nuestra imaginación estaba en mayor expansión.
Of the things that are well done is this series, of course, highly recommended for you to immerse yourself in a chaotic, fun and well-structured world with the extravagant adventures that this story tells. What I've told you is barely 1% of what it has to offer, it's best you discover it for yourself. I say goodbye Dirk Gently style "if you made it this far it's because this series is for you and may be a clue for you to discover the plan for something bigger." De las cosas que están bien hechas es esta serie, por supuesto, muy recomendada para que te sumerjas en un mundo caótico, divertido y bien estructurado con las extravagantes aventuras que esta historia narra. Lo que te he contado es apenas un 1% de lo que tiene para ofrecer, es mejor que lo descubras por ti mismo. Me despido al estilo de Dirk Gently “si llegaste hasta aquí es porque esta serie es para ti y puede ser una pista para que descubras el plan de algo más grande”.
Como dato adicional, la serie está basado en la novela que lleva el mismo nombre de la seria, escrita por Douglas Adams. Dado que la serie fue cancelada, tendré que buscar el libro y terminar con las dudas que me dejó la segunda temporada. Ciertamente, es algo decepcionante que haya sido cancelada, tenía mucho más que ofrecer y después de haber visto semejante espectáculo es un sabor agridulce que tendré que superarlo.
I've never had a chance to watch it, but I just took a look at the trailer and it looks fun. It's only two seasons old. Although it's not my favorite style of series, I'm going to look it up to watch the first episode.
It's a little-known series, because of its theme that deals with the holistic, I don't know what other reasons it has for being hidden, I had a lot of fun, my favorite style of cinema is a lolso weird, so it's okay that you don't like it. Thanks for the support, I really appreciate it 🖖🙏.
sounds like quite an interesting series indeed! quite fond of the eccentric detective trope and whatnot as long as they do somehow end up solving the case in a not so conventional way 😄 might give this a watch despite not having following seasons, for the entertainment, thanks for sharing about this!

vi esta seríe y como ud mismo lo dice es una verdadera obra de arte para quien sabe apreciarla a mas de que participa Elijah Wood (Señor de los anillos) me gustó aún mas, son muchas cosas nuevas de lo que el Universo tiene deparado para nosotros wow me ha gustado mucho, ojalá saquen otra temporada.
Sii un personaje muy conocido en el medio, hace un buen papel en la serie. Dudo mucho que salga una tercera temporada, pero si eso sucede sería muy satisfactorio darle fin a las dudas que me dejó la 2da temporada. Gracias por animarte a comentar 🖖🤗.
