Terrifier 2, pelicula de terror de 2023
Hello friends of this great film community. Today I will tell you about a relatively recent American horror film, Terrifier 2. This horror film is the second installment of a series, whose first film passed unnoticed on the screens of the United States, being demolished by critics, and very little praised by the fans and followers of that film genre.
With Terrifier 2, director Damien Leone sought his vindication, after the financial and critical failure of the first installment. Few already trusted that Art, the sinister clown would make a good movie one day, but the director made a decision that would change everything, by giving the leading role in the film to a martial artist and stuntwoman, with little acting experience. Lauren La Vera is the soul and genesis of Terrifier 2, without her, luck might not have smiled on Leone once again either.
Although the film does not create anything new, nor does it go off the usual route of horror/slasher genre films, the villain Art seems quite original, and although sometimes more than scary, it gives the impression that we are only faced with a terrible clown, who barely makes us laugh, because his objective is to kill us in the bloodiest and most sadistic way possible. The protagonist of the film is a normal, ordinary girl, who goes to a party with her friends, and is attacked by the clown. Since then, Sienna will try to save her life and that of her brother, in the face of persecution by the bloodthirsty clown. Sienna's wardrobe was excellently conceived and is another of the positive points that the film has, due to its symbolism.
With a meager budget of 250,000 USD, it was very difficult for the director to hire the faces of better-known actors and actresses, perhaps that's where the commitment to an unknown (but very beautiful and charismatic) Lauren La Vera came from. His performance was so convincing and striking, that it deserved praise from both the public and critics, and incidentally ensured, with the collection obtained by the film, the possibility of a third installment, where we once again enjoyed the rivalry to the death between Art "the clown" and Sienna (Lavera's character in the film). This third installment of Terrifier will be material for another post in the future. For now, for fans of the horror genre in cinema, Terrifier 2 is a good entertainment option.

Hola amigos de esta gran comunidad cinéfila. Hoy les comentaré sobre un filme de terror norteamericano, relativamente reciente, Terrifier 2.Esta película de terror, es la segunda entrega de una zaga, cuya primera película, paso sin penas ni glorias por las pantallas de Estados Unidos, siendo demolida por la crítica, y muy poco elogiada por los fanáticos y seguidores de ese genero cinematográfico.
Con Terrifier 2 el director Damien Leone buscaba su reivindicación, luego del fracaso financiero y de crítica de la primera entrega. Pocos ya confiaban en que el Art, el payaso siniestro llegaría a dar una buena película algún día, pero el director tomó una decisión que lo cambiaria todo, al darle el protagonismo del filme a una artista marcial y doble de riesgo, con poca experiencia actuando. Lauren La Vera, es el alma y génesis de Terrifier 2, sin ella, la suerte quizás tampoco le hubiera sonreído a Leone una vez más.
Si bien el filme no crea nada nuevo, ni se sale de la ruta habitual de las películas del género de terror/slasher, el villano Art se nos muestra bastante original, y aunque a veces más que miedo, da la impresión que solo tenemos enfrente a un pésimo payaso, que a duras penas nos hace reir, porque su objetivo es matarnos del modo más sangriento y sádico posible. La protagonista del filme es una chica normal, común y corriente, que va a una fiesta con sus amigos, y se ve atacada por el payaso. Desde entonces Sienna tratará de salvar su vida y la de su hermano, ante la persecución de la que es objeto por parte del sanguinario payaso. El vestuario de Sienna fue excelentemente concebido y es otro de los puntos positivos con los que cuenta la película, por su simbolismo.
Con un presupuesto exiguo de 250 000 usd al director se le hacía muy difícil contratar rostros de actores y actrices más conocidos, quizás de ahí vino la apuesta por una desconocida (pero muy hermosa y carismática) Lauren La Vera. Fue tan convincente y llamativa su actuación, que mereció elogios tanto del público como de la crítica, y aseguró de paso, con la recaudación obtenida por el filme, la posibilidad de una tercera entrega, donde volvimos a disfrutar de la rivalidad a muerte entre Art “el payaso” y Sienna (personaje de Lavera en el filme).Esta tercera entrega de Terrifier, será materia para otro post en un futuro. Por lo pronto, para los seguidores del género de terror en el cine, Terrifier 2 es una buena opción de entretenimiento.
