Comenzó la temporada navideña y mis reseñas lo saben // The holiday season has begun and my reviews know it

¡Hola amigos! Finalmente estamos a las puertas del comienzo de la Navidad. Acá en mi país, Argentina, tenemos la costumbre de armar el árbol de Navidad el 8 de diciembre. En estos días ya tengo que ir a comprar algunos adornos nuevos y cambiar unas luces.
Así que para entrar en el aire navideño ya empecé a ver algunas de las nuevas producciones que salieron estos días en las plataformas conocidas. Está de las que les voy a hablar se encuentra en Netflix y se llama Navidad de Golpe.

Hello friends! We are finally at the gates of the beginning of Christmas. Here in my country, Argentina, we have the custom of setting up the Christmas tree on December 8. These days I already have to buy some new ornaments and change some lights.
So to get into the Christmas spirit, I have already started to watch some of the new productions that have been released these days in the known platforms. The one I am going to tell you about is on Netflix and it is called Falling for Christmas.

Además de ser una película que la tiene a Lindsay Lohan volviendo a las producciones estilo rom-com, que son las que mejor le quedan, su coprotagonista es un ex integrante de la serie Glee, Chord Overstreet. Fue una apuesta interesante de ver para estos actores que han tenido tropiezos a lo largo de sus carreras por problemas personales.

In addition to being a movie that has Lindsay Lohan returning to rom-com style productions, which suit her best, her co-star is a former member of the Glee series, Chord Overstreet. It was an interesting bet to see for these actors who have had setbacks throughout their careers due to personal problems.

¿De qué trata? - What is it about?

Navidad de golpe nos presenta a Sierra Belmont, que es una mujer con mucho dinero, mimada y que está tratando de buscar su profesión. Su padre le dio el trabajo de administrar un complejo turístico de esquí muy famoso y lujoso. Ella no está muy cómoda con el trabajo, pero no quiere decepcionar a su padre así que acepta. En una especie de excursión por la zona que organizó su novio Tad, un reconocido influencer de Instagram, terminan teniendo un accidente y ella cae rodando por la nieve, se golpea la cabeza contra un árbol y pierde temporalmente sus recuerdos. Tad termina cayendo en otra parte.
Más adelante es encontrada por Jake Russell, un padre soltero que administra otro complejo turístico más familiar y modesto, alejado de la ciudad, pero que se encuentra al borde de la quiebra. Allí van a empezar una relación de amistad mientras intentan que Sierra recupere la memoria, aunque poco a poco se terminará integrando a esta bella familia que necesitará de un milagro navideño para seguir adelante.

Falling for Christmas introduces us to Sierra Belmont, who is a woman with a lot of money, spoiled and trying to find her profession. Her father gives her the job of managing a very famous and luxurious ski resort. She is not very comfortable with the job, but she doesn't want to disappoint her father so she accepts. On a sort of excursion in the area organized by her boyfriend Tad, a well-known Instagram influencer, they end up having an accident and she falls rolling in the snow, hits her head against a tree and temporarily loses her memories. Tad ends up falling somewhere else.
She is later found by Jake Russell, a single father who runs another more familiar and modest resort, far from the city, but on the verge of bankruptcy. There they begin a friendly relationship while trying to get Sierra's memory back, although little by little she will end up integrating into this beautiful family that will need a Christmas miracle to move forward.

Opinión - Opinion

Está película tiene todo el complemento navideño que siempre busco en estás producciones. Es un poco loco sentir que sea canon que en Navidad nieve y haga frío, cuando en mi país siempre hace calor y nos terminamos asando jajaja. Pero bueno, crecimos viendo muchas películas estadounidenses que retratan su Navidad tal cual la viven y me parece perfecto. Ojalá nos animáramos a hacer producciones de este estilo locales. Creo que ya me estoy saliendo de la línea. Cómo les decía, esta tiene todo lo que yo considero que debe tener una película navideña: una familia agradable, algún niño, un perro, una historia de amor y un milagro de navidad.

This movie has all the Christmas complement that I always look for in these productions. It's a little crazy to feel that it's canon that at Christmas it snows and it's cold, when in my country it's always hot and we end up roasting hahaha. But well, we grew up watching many American movies that portray their Christmas as they live it and I think it's perfect. I wish we were encouraged to make local productions of this style. I think I'm getting out of line. As I was saying, this one has everything I think a Christmas movie should have: a nice family, some kids, a dog, a love story and a Christmas miracle.

Si aparte es una rom-com que promete risas seguro la amaré. Aunque está película tiene un humor muy básico, cumplió el cometido de tener su personaje gracioso aunque en algún momento me resultó un poco pesado, estoy hablando de Tad, este influencer bastante obsesionado por los likes.

If it's a rom-com that promises laughs I will love it for sure. Although this movie has a very basic humor, it fulfilled the task of having its funny character although at some point I found it a little heavy, I'm talking about Tad, this influencer quite obsessed with likes.

El papel a Lindsay siento que le quedó muy bien, ella también tuvo partes muy geniales, principalmente adoré a la Sierra después del accidente. Me hizo pensar en la Lindsay adolescente. Me gustó mucho la dupla que hizo con Chord Overstreet, sentí que tuvieron química. Me encantaba cómo él la miraba con ojitos de cachorrito cuando se dio cuenta que la quería, esa mirada se me hizo muy expresiva. Eso sí, solo en la mirada, después la actitud la dejó afuera. Pero me gustó esta pareja. Adoré a la niña, a la abuela y al Santa Claus ahí haciendo de las suyas. También me gustó que el padre de Sierra no fuera un señor rico de esos fríos y sin sentimientos.

The role to Lindsay I feel it fit her very well, she also had very cool parts, mainly I adored the Sierra after the accident. It made me think of the teenage Lindsay. I really liked the pairing she did with Chord Overstreet, I felt they had chemistry. I loved how he looked at her with puppy dog eyes when he realized he loved her, that look was very expressive to me. Mind you, only in the look, after that the attitude left her out. But I liked this couple. I loved the little girl, the grandmother and Santa Claus there doing his thing. I also liked that Sierra's father wasn't one of those cold, unfeeling rich men.

Algo que destacó mucho de esta película es el ambiente navideño que tuvo, si bien me encanta todo esto, como ya les aclaré antes, siento que quizá a veces fue muy obvio, el mensaje es claro: "miren, esto es una película navideña". Hasta la ropa de los personajes era toda verde, roja o una combinación entre ambos. Más obvio imposible. También me agrado la musicalización con villancicos, estos nunca pueden faltar y acá no fueron la excepción.

Something that stood out a lot about this movie is the Christmas atmosphere it had, while I love all this, as I made clear before, I feel that maybe sometimes it was too obvious, the message is clear: "look, this is a Christmas movie". Even the characters' clothes were all green, red or a combination of both. It couldn't have been more obvious. I also liked the music with Christmas carols, these can never be missing and here they were no exception.

El final fue satisfactorio, estás películas son muy clichés así que se imaginarán más o menos que fue un buen final. Me resultó emotivo, no el final en sí, sino lo que pasó un rato antes. Fue una película agradable de ver que me reconfortó. Me dejó una linda sensación, no se me hizo pesada o densa en ningún momento. Pase un buen rato viéndola. Así que si no la vieron los invito a verla.

The ending was satisfying, these movies are very cliché so you can pretty much imagine that it was a good ending. I found it emotional, not the ending itself, but what happened a while before. It was a nice movie to watch that comforted me. It left me with a nice feeling, it didn't feel heavy or dense at any time. I had a good time watching it.
