🎬 Movie Review: A Summer Romance [ES/EN]

¡Hola amigos! El otro día volví a mi eje de querer ver alguna comedia romántica y encontré esta del 2019 que me llamó la atención porque amo la vida rural de los ranchos. La película se llama Un romance de verano. Y sí, es todo lo cliché que se imaginan que es.

Hello friends!!! The other day I went back to my axis of wanting to watch some romantic comedy and found this one from 2019 that caught my eye because I love rural ranch life. The movie is called A Summer Romance. And yes, it's every bit as cliché as you imagine it to be.

La historia sigue a Richard, el CEO de una compañía que está en proceso de fusionarse con otra empresa y para ello él propuso la idea de construir un hotel y un centro comercial en un pueblo en Montana, en una finca que tiene muchas deudas y complicaciones económicas. Por lo que Richard viaja hasta allá para mostrarle al dueño su propuesta y convencerlo de venderla. Pero el dueño, resultó ser una mujer fuerte y decidida que le va mostrar que esas tierras son mágicas y que no hay nada mejor que encontrar paz y relajación en la naturaleza. También le demostrará lo que es el espíritu de ese lugar y lo que debería ser un verdadero hogar.

The story follows Richard, the CEO of a company that is in the process of merging with another company and for this he proposed the idea of building a hotel and a shopping mall in a town in Montana, in a farm that has many debts and economic complications. So Richard travels there to show the owner his proposal and convince him to sell it. But the owner turns out to be a strong and determined woman who will show him that these lands are magical and that there is nothing better than finding peace and relaxation in nature. She will also show him what the spirit of the place is and what a real home should be.

Una historia muy sencilla, pero de esas que te hacen sentir en las nubes. Es un film de confort, ideal para cuando quieren ver algo tierno, dulce y lleno de paisajes hermosos. 10/10 para la fotografía y otro tanto para la banda sonora campestre. Son combinaciones que adoro en una película, aunque tiene sus detalles como que todo sucede muy rápido y no hay muchas explicaciones de nada fuera de lo que sucede con los personajes protagónicos.

A very simple story, but one of those that make you feel in the clouds. It is a comfort film, ideal for when you want to see something tender, sweet and full of beautiful landscapes. 10/10 for the photography and another 10/10 for the country soundtrack. These are combinations that I love in a film, although it has its details like everything happens very fast and there are not many explanations of anything outside what happens with the main characters.

Una de mis series favoritas de la vida transcurre en un rancho de caballos, así que me encanta el clima rural, los caballos y la vida de pueblo, tenía ganas de ver algo del estilo y en ese sentido cumplió mis expectativas. Mi lugar soñado sería vivir en una finca como esa, estaría genial, y jamás me querría ir de allí. Así que entiendo los sentimientos de Sam con respecto a venderla, no era una opción porque para ella era un hogar ante todo y quería preservarlo a pesar de las complicaciones económicas, ella la heredo de su padre con deudas y todo, estuvo todo ese tiempo intentando idear un plan para solucionarlo y no tener que recurrir a vender sus tierras, aunque ese hubiera sido el camino más fácil en su caso.

One of my favorite series in life takes place on a horse ranch, so I love the rural climate, the horses and the small town life, I was looking forward to see something like that and in that sense it fulfilled my expectations. My dream place would be to live on a ranch like that, it would be great, and I would never want to leave. So I understand Sam's feelings about selling it, it was not an option because for her it was a home first and foremost and she wanted to preserve it despite the economic complications, she inherited it from her father with debts and all, she was all that time trying to come up with a plan to solve it and not have to resort to selling her land, even though that would have been the easiest way in her case.

Para Richard este lugar fue un nuevo despertar, él venía estresado de la vida en la ciudad, pero estaba dispuesto a cerrar ese acuerdo para su empresa y así enorgullecer a sus padres, y al final terminó encontrándose con que le gustaba esa vida y la gente del pueblo y, sobre todo, Sam, porque sí, no olvidemos que es una historia romántica. También encontró un hogar y una familia dispuesta a acogerlo, además de que se enamoro de esas tierras al igual que su propietaria.

For Richard this place was a new awakening, he came stressed from life in the city, but he was willing to close that deal for his company and thus make his parents proud, and in the end he ended up finding that he liked that life and the people of the town and, above all, Sam, because yes, let's not forget that it is a romantic story. He also found a home and a family willing to take him in, plus he fell in love with that land just like its owner.

Así que es una de esas películas que despierta lindos sentimientos, con un romance tranquilo que se da casi pidiendo permiso hacia el final, pero que no importa porque todo el resto estuvo excelente. No es perfecta, tiene sus fallas y no es una película que me haya cambiado la vida o que me transmitiera ganas de verla de nuevo. Pero es ideal para pasar el rato y ver algo fresco y cálido. Eso lo resume muy bien. Por lo que si te gustan estas combinaciones te la recomiendo.

So it's one of those movies that arouses nice feelings, with a quiet romance that almost begs for permission towards the end, but that doesn't matter because everything else was excellent. It's not perfect, it has its flaws and it's not a movie that changed my life or made me want to see it again. But it's great for hanging out and watching something fresh and warm. That sums it up pretty well. So if you like these combinations I recommend it.
