¡Hola amigos! Han sido días un poco caóticos y estoy atrasadísima con un montón de series que estrenaron temporadas nuevas en estas semanas. Pero bueno, a veces la vida pide pausas para unas cosas y acción en otras. Todo esto para decir que hoy les traigo la reseña acerca de la película Hamnet que se estreno de manera reciente en las salas de cine.

But hey, sometimes life calls for pauses in some things and action in others. All this to say that today I bring you a review of the movie Hamnet, which recently premiered in theaters.

La película es una ficción histórica acerca de la vida de Agnes, la esposa de William Shakespeare. Nos muestra una versión libre de los acontecimientos desde que ella era una niña hasta la tragedia que golpea sus vidas con la muerte de uno de sus hijos y cómo ese momento inspira una de las obras más emblemáticas del dramaturgo, Hamlet.
The film is a historical fiction about the life of Agnes, William Shakespeare's wife. It shows us a free interpretation of events from her childhood to the tragedy that struck their lives with the death of one of their children, and how that moment inspired one of the playwright's most iconic works, Hamlet.

La historia se centra en Agnes, ya que ella quedó opacada por su esposo, pero siempre tuvo una historia de vida interesante y su dolor también merece ser contado. Me pareció una película muy poética y hermosamente narrada, con actuaciones increíbles, realmente me daban ganas de ponerme de pie y aplaudirlos en los momentos claves. Lo único es que por momentos la historia pierde un poco de fuerza y se puede tornar monótona.
The story focuses on Agnes, as she was overshadowed by her husband, but she always had an interesting life story and her pain also deserves to be told. I found it to be a very poetic and beautifully narrated film, with incredible performances. It really made me want to stand up and applaud them at key moments. The only thing is that at times the story loses a little momentum and can become monotonous.
En sí no conozco ni el libro en el que está inspirada la adaptación, ni tampoco leí Hamlet. Además, no estoy tan familiarizada con los hechos históricos de su vida. Pero me pareció super interesante todo lo que vi, quizá se tomaron ciertas libertades fantásticas. Es una mezcla de realismo mágico con hechos históricos, pero eso lo mantuvo interesante y el drama se volvió un poco más pasable porque se da a entender que fue un hecho fortuito y una decisión tomada a conciencia, aunque no deja de ser una tragedia.
I don't know the book that inspired the adaptation, nor have I read Hamlet. Furthermore, I'm not very familiar with the historical events of his life. But I found everything I saw super interesting, although they may have taken certain creative liberties. It's a mixture of magical realism and historical facts, but that kept it interesting and made the drama a little more palatable because it suggests that it was a fortuitous event and a conscious decision, even though it's still a tragedy.

La verdad es que es una película muy sentida, que logra transmitir muy bien cada emoción que viven los personajes que componen la obra. Las actuaciones estuvieron excelentes, sobre todo la de la actriz que hizo de Agnes, ella me encantó. Los niños son otros grandes aciertos. No tengo quejas en cuanto a esto, me hicieron sentir su dolor y me emocioné en más de una oportunidad. Creo que está hermosamente contada.
The truth is that it is a very heartfelt film, which manages to convey very well every emotion experienced by the characters that make up the work. The performances were excellent, especially that of the actress who played Agnes, I loved her. The children are another great success. I have no complaints in this regard, they made me feel their pain and I was moved on more than one occasion. I think it is beautifully told.
No sé si es una obra maestra, pero se acerca bastante. Aunque creo que no apunta a un público masivo, sino a gente que guste del arte y la poesía, y quiera conmoverse con esta historia tan hermosa como trágica. Es ideal para los poetas torturados. Así que si entras en alguno de estos roles te va a encantar, y sino, creo que también se disfruta porque es linda visualmente y una historia increíble a su manera. Nada más que por momentos se puede sentir un poco lenta de digerir.
I don't know if it's a masterpiece, but it comes pretty close. Although I don't think it's aimed at a mass audience, but rather at people who like art and poetry and want to be moved by this beautiful yet tragic story. It's ideal for tortured poets. So if you fit into either of these categories, you'll love it, and even if you don't, I think you'll still enjoy it because it's visually beautiful and has an incredible story in its own way. It's just that at times it can feel a little slow to digest.
