¡Hola amigos! Hace un tiempo que tenía ganas de volver a ver una película que me encanta y aproveché estos días para hacerlo, así que hoy les vengo a hablar de Love, Rosie o Los imprevistos del amor como se la conoce en español.

Hello friends! It's been a while since I wanted to see again a movie that I love and I took advantage of these days to do it, so today I come to talk about Love, Rosie or Los imprevistos del amor as it is known in Spanish.

Trama - Plot

La historia gira en torno a unos mejores amigos, Rosie y Alex, entre ellos dos está empezando a surgir una atracción mutua. Sin embargo, por un mal entendido de una sola noche donde Rosie bebé de más termina teniendo relaciones sexuales con otro chico y queda embarazada. Para esto, nunca le cuenta a Alex hasta tiempo después y él se va a estudiar a otro estado, por lo que su amistad y lo que comenzaba a surgir se ve perjudicado por la distancia. A medida que pasan los años, tratan de seguir en contacto, hasta que el destino los vuelve a juntar y quizá sea el momento de darse una oportunidad.

The story revolves around best friends, Rosie and Alex, between the two of them a mutual attraction is beginning to emerge. However, due to a one night misunderstanding where Rosie has one too many babies, she ends up having sex with another guy and gets pregnant. For this, she never tells Alex until some time later and he goes to study in another state, so their friendship and what was beginning to emerge is damaged by the distance. As the years go by, they try to keep in touch, until fate brings them together again and maybe it's time to give each other a chance.

Una de mis películas románticas favoritas, basada en una novela del mismo nombre que también me encanta y ya la releí como 3 veces, aunque es muchísimo más frustrante que la película, pero es muy divertida y me agrada que esté narrada a través de cartas. Así que también les recomiendo la lectura si les gusta la adaptación cinematográfica.

One of my favorite romantic movies, based on a novel of the same name that I also love and I've reread it about 3 times, although it is much more frustrating than the movie, but it is very funny and I like that it is narrated through letters. So I also recommend reading it if you like the movie adaptation.

Bueno, volviendo a la película. Es de esas comedias románticas que nos hacen dar cuenta que a veces, quizás, no sea el momento, pero si hay cosas que quedaron inconclusas con personas de nuestra vida tarde o temprano nos las vuelven a poner en el camino para cerrar la historia, o para tener un nuevo comienzo. Lo que más me gusta es que a pesar de las metidas de pata, las mentiras, la distancia y el tiempo que cada uno estuvo por su cuenta intentando resolver su vida, no hayan perdido el contacto y hayan estado presente en los momentos importantes de cada uno. Eso es lo que más vale en una amistad.

Well, back to the movie. It is one of those romantic comedies that make us realize that sometimes, perhaps, it is not the time, but if there are things that were left unfinished with people in our lives sooner or later we put them back on the road to close the story, or to have a new beginning. What I like the most is that despite the screw-ups, the lies, the distance and the time that each one was on their own trying to figure out their lives, they have not lost contact and have been present in each other's important moments. That is what is most valuable in a friendship.

También me gusta que no es una película donde el romance sea lo principal. Creo que nos habla de encontrarnos a nosotros mismos y nuestras pasiones, lo que queremos lograr y que nunca es tarde para volver a empezar y darle un giro a nuestra vida. Esto lo vemos en el personaje de Rosie que tuvo que posponer sus estudios para cuidar de su hija y, al esta crecer, retomó lo que ella siempre soñó con hacer. Pero para esto tuvo que empezar de abajo, y a pesar de la frustración, los malos tratos y la pésima paga, nunca se dio por vencida hasta lograr su objetivo. Es un personaje admirable que nos enseña mucho.

I also like that it's not a movie where romance is the main thing. I think it talks about finding ourselves and our passions, what we want to achieve and that it's never too late to start over and turn our lives around. We see this in the character of Rosie who had to postpone her studies to take care of her daughter and, as she grew up, she took up what she always dreamed of doing. But for this she had to start from the bottom, and despite the frustration, the bad treatment and the lousy pay, she never gave up until she achieved her goal. She is an admirable character who teaches us a lot.

Y la historia de amor con Alex es muy genuina también, es como que la vida los alejaba, pero ellos seguían ahí, el uno para el otro, en mayor o menor medida. Alex fue un gran sostén en la vida de Rosie y en la de su hija, y me alegra que al final se hayan reencontrado como se lo merecían para tener ese nuevo comienzo juntos.

And the love story with Alex is very genuine too, it's like life kept pushing them apart, but they were still there for each other, to a greater or lesser extent. Alex was such a mainstay in Rosie's life and in her daughter's life, and I'm glad they were finally reunited as they deserved to have that fresh start together.

Así que es una muy bella película que los hará reír y emocionar, además de dejarles un poderoso mensaje de ir tras los sueños sin que nadie nos detenga aunque parezca que ya sé nos fue el tiempo porque no es así, nunca es tarde.

So it is a very beautiful film that will make you laugh and move you, besides leaving you with a powerful message of going after your dreams without anyone stopping you, even if it seems that time has already passed because it is not like that, it is never too late.
