La historia sigue a Linda, una mujer trabajadora aunque algo excéntrica. Ella está en busca de un ascenso que le prometió el dueño de la empresa para la que trabaja, pero cuando fallece, su hijo hereda la compañía y ahora quiere poner a su mejor amigo como vicepresidente. En un viaje de trabajo que hacen en avión, este tiene una falla y terminan varados en una isla como únicos sobrevivientes. Bradley está herido y Linda es una experta en supervivencia, así que ahora tiene su oportunidad de demostrar lo que vale y mantenerlos con vida hasta que alguien los rescate. Pero no todo es como parece y muy pronto Bradley va a descubrir que ya no es el que manda y que se encuentra atrapado en una pesadilla.

The story follows Linda, a hardworking yet somewhat eccentric woman. She is hoping for a promotion that the owner of the company she works for had promised her, but when he dies, his son inherits the company and now wants to appoint his best friend as vice president. During a business trip by plane, the aircraft malfunctions and they end up stranded on an island as the sole survivors. Bradley is injured and Linda is a survival expert, so now she has her chance to prove her worth and keep them alive until someone rescues them. But not everything is as it seems, and very soon Bradley will discover that he is no longer in charge and that he is trapped in a nightmare.

Había visto avances de esta película cuando iba al cine a ver otras. Me llamaba un poco la atención, así que decidí darle una oportunidad y acá estoy. Es una película entretenida para pasar el rato, te mantiene un poco atrapado, pero no hay mucho más. Me gustó como estuvo producida, el nivel de detalle en algunas escenas, un toque sangrienta por momentos, con una trama interesante, pero sin sentido en algún punto. No es una película para analizarla mucho, sino para disfrutarla en la medida de lo posible.

I’d seen trailers for this movie when I went to the theater to see other films. It caught my attention a bit, so I decided to give it a shot, and here I am. It’s an entertaining movie to kill some time—it keeps you hooked for a while, but there’s not much else to it. I liked how it was produced, the level of detail in some scenes, a touch of gore at times, with an interesting plot, though it doesn’t make sense at certain points. It’s not a movie to overanalyze, but rather to enjoy as much as possible.

Me pareció entretenida y tuvo un buen ritmo todo el tiempo, en algún punto te hace pensar en que la relación entre Linda y Bradley puede mejorar, pero es todo una farsa, ambos tienen sus propios intereses y no son compatibles entre sí. Por una parte es gracioso verlo a Bradley querer hacer las cosas que sabe hacer Linda y ver que no le sale y que la necesita para sobrevivir. Él sabe que tiene que lograr salir de esa isla si quiere tener una oportunidad.

I found it entertaining and it kept a good pace throughout. At one point, it makes you think that Linda and Bradley’s relationship might improve, but it’s all a sham—they both have their own agendas and aren’t compatible with each other. On the one hand, it’s funny to see Bradley trying to do the things Linda is good at, only to fail and realize he needs her to survive. He knows he has to find a way off that island if he wants to stand a chance.

Por otro lado, se nota que Linda es un personaje de moralidad gris, que va a usar sus conocimientos a su favor. Pero, también puede ser bastante perturbadora. Ella supo perfectamente llevar la situación para su beneficio y lo aprovechó muy bien. En ese sentido se manejó bien, quizá tuvo algunos errores en el medio y al final todo se torció un poco. No hay duda de que fue la protagonista indiscutida de la película.

On the other hand, it’s clear that Linda is a morally ambiguous character who will use her knowledge to her advantage. But she can also be quite unsettling. She knew exactly how to manipulate the situation to her benefit and took full advantage of it. In that sense, she handled herself well; she may have made a few mistakes along the way, and in the end, things went a bit awry. There’s no doubt that she was the undisputed star of the film.

No creo que el final haya tenido el mayor sentido la verdad, ni las otras cosas que fueron pasando, pero bueno, como les dije, es una película que busca entretener más que nada. No esperen grandes cosas. Sí me sorprendió el nivel de escenas con sangre que se vieron, hasta me hicieron cerrar los ojos en alguna que otra ocasión y eso que ya vi de todo y me cuesta un poco impresionarme de esa manera jajaja. Así que es algo a tener en cuenta si son impresionables a la sangre. Por lo demás todo bien. La recomiendo para pasar el rato.

I don't really think the ending made much sense, or the other things that happened, but hey, like I said, it's a movie that's meant to entertain more than anything else. Don't expect much. I was surprised by how gory some of the scenes were—they even made me close my eyes a few times, and that's saying something since I've seen it all and it's hard to shock me like that, haha. So keep that in mind if you’re squeamish about blood. Other than that, it’s fine. I recommend it for killing some time.
