¡Hola amigos! Hoy les traigo mi opinión sobre la nueva película live action de Los Caballeros del Zodiaco. Saint Seiya: El inicio.

Hello friends! Today I bring you my opinion about the new live action movie of The Knights of the Zodiac. Saint Seiya: The Beginning.

Este fue uno de los primeros animes que vi de pequeña junto con mi hermano, ya que a él era el que le gustaba pero poco a poco me fue ganando a mi también. Si bien ya le perdí el hilo a este anime no me quise perder de ver esta adaptación. Leí comentarios diversos al respecto así que la quise evaluar por mí misma. Bueno, pasemos a la trama.

This was one of the first anime I watched as a child with my brother, since he was the one who liked it, but little by little it won me over too. Although I already lost the thread to this anime, I didn't want to miss this adaptation. I read different comments about it so I wanted to evaluate it by myself. Well, let's move on to the plot.

Trama - Plot

La película sigue la historia de Seiya, un joven que, por causas que desconocemos, se quedó huérfano junto con su hermana mayor. Sin embargo, un día ella es secuestrada y ahora Seiya se gana la vida en rings de peleas callejeras mientras trata de averiguar qué le ocurrió a su hermana Patricia.

The film follows the story of Seiya, a young man who, for reasons unknown to us, was orphaned along with his older sister. However, one day she is kidnapped and now Seiya makes a living in street fighting rings while trying to find out what happened to his sister Patricia.

En una de las peleas a Seiya se le revela un poder, el poder del pegaso, que lo lleva dormido desde que era un niño. Al instante aparecen personas desconocidas que lo quieren atrapar y es rescatado por Alman Kido, un millonario excéntrico que le cuenta que la que lo está persiguiendo es su ex esposa Guraad que busca hacerse con su poder.

In one of the fights Seiya is revealed a power, the power of the pegasus, which has been dormant since he was a child. Instantly, unknown people appear who want to catch him and he is rescued by Alman Kido, an eccentric millionaire who tells him that the one who is chasing him is his ex-wife Guraad who wants to get his power.

Al rescatarlo le confiesa que estaba tras su pista porque él está destinado a ser un caballero del zodiaco al cuidado y protección de la diosa Atenea que reencarnó en un cuerpo humano. Allí se le revela todo este mundo oculto de los dioses y la mitología que le cambiará la vida.

Upon rescuing him, she confesses to him that she was on his trail because he is destined to be a zodiac knight in the care and protection of the goddess Athena who reincarnated in a human body. There all this hidden world of the gods and mythology is revealed to him that will change his life.

Bueno, esto si que no me lo esperaba. Se sintió rara la mezcla entre el mundo actual y lo mitológico. La historia también está muy alejada del anime y puedo entender el descontento de los fans. Sin embargo, las partes que sí eran parecidas al anime me generaban mucha emoción y nostalgia de la infancia. Esas fueron mis favoritas, me encantó la parte en la que Seiya entrena con Marin, ella sí que estaba caracterizada muy bien.

Well, I didn't expect this. It felt weird the mix between the actual world and the mythological. The story is also very far from the anime and I can understand the dissatisfaction of the fans. However, the parts that did resemble the anime generated a lot of emotion and childhood nostalgia for me. Those were my favorites, I loved the part where Seiya trains with Marin, she was really well characterized.

No me gustó que Atenea fuera una adolescente malcriada, aunque pega con como son la mayoría de los adolescentes ahora. Ni tampoco compartí esa duda que tenían todos de si se convertiría en la diosa de la sabiduría o de la guerra y destruiría todo, cuando se supone que las dos versiones son parte de ella. Solo necesita aprender a conocer y controlar sus poderes. No me gustó todo esto que desencadenó en que la mujer que la crio buscará destruirla porque creía que se convertiría en una amenaza para el mundo.

I didn't like Athena being a spoiled teenager, although it fits with how most teenagers are now. Nor did I share that doubt everyone had about whether she would become the goddess of wisdom or war and destroy everything, when both versions are supposed to be part of her. She just needs to learn to know and control her powers. I didn't like the whole thing that triggered the woman who raised her to seek to destroy her because she believed she would become a threat to the world.

Lo que más disfruté fueron las escenas de acción y de pelea, además de los momentos con humor que la hicieron entretenida. No me aburrí al verla, me pareció bastante ocurrente en algunas partes. Nada más que parece que estás viendo cualquier otra película del momento y no una adaptación del clásico anime.

What I enjoyed most were the action and fight scenes, as well as the humorous moments that made it entertaining. I didn't get bored watching it, I found it quite witty in some parts. It just seems like you're watching any other movie of the moment and not an adaptation of the classic anime.

De todos modos, ya saben que suelo disfrutar de los cambios y me gustaría seguir viendo más de esta historia para ver si se logra acomodar. Podemos disfrutar de los dos mundos, el genial del anime que nadie nos lo quita, y ver qué nos trae de nuevo este live action.

Anyway, you already know that I usually enjoy the changes and I would like to keep watching more of this story to see if it manages to accommodate. We can enjoy the two worlds, the great one of the anime that no one takes away from us, and see what this live action brings us again.

Mi veredicto es intermedio, disfruté varias cosas y otras solo me dieron pena. Pero creo que podría mejorar. Me gustaría ver el reclutamiento de los demás caballeros y la historia del fénix que quedó pendiente, y que aparezcan los verdaderos enemigos.

My verdict is intermediate, I enjoyed several things and others just made me feel sorry for them. But I think it could be improved. I would like to see the recruitment of the other knights and the story of the phoenix that was left pending, and that the real enemies appear.
