🎬 Serie Review: Stranger Things season 5. Vol. 1 [ES/EN]

¡Hola amigos! Hoy me paso por acá a traerles mi opinión acerca de los primeros 4 capítulos de la 5ta temporada de Stranger Things. Por lo general no suelo dar avances hasta terminar la temporada completa, pero siento que en esta ocasión se merece este análisis de cara a lo que nos espera.

Hello, friends! Today I'm here to share my thoughts on the first four episodes of the fifth season of Stranger Things. I don't usually give previews until I've finished the entire season, but I feel that this time it deserves this analysis in light of what lies ahead.

Trama - Plot

Tras los hechos ocurridos en la temporada anterior, cuando Vecna logra abrir los portales, Hawkins quedo destruido y bajo cuarentena militar. Nadie puede entrar, ni salir. Once está siendo buscada por los militares y el grupo de amigos intenta hacer vida normal mientras por detrás encabezan excursiones al otro lado para localizar a Vecna y destruirlo. Con Max en coma y la amenaza más latente que nunca, todos se preparan para librar la batalla final y, con suerte, desterrar a los monstruos de Hawkins definitivamente. ¿Lo lograran?

After the events of the previous season, when Vecna managed to open the portals, Hawkins was destroyed and placed under military quarantine. No one can enter or leave. Eleven is being hunted by the military, and the group of friends tries to live a normal life while secretly leading expeditions to the other side to locate Vecna and destroy him. With Max in a coma and the threat more imminent than ever, everyone prepares for the final battle and, hopefully, to banish the monsters from Hawkins for good. Will they succeed?

Estos 4 capítulos estuvieron cargados de emociones, leí opiniones encontradas, pero para mí estuvieron bien. Me choca un poco que se tardarán tanto para sacar este final y también la manera en que decidieron dividirlos, pero bueno, ya está. Creo que estos 4 episodios tuvieron sus detalles sin sentidos, pero, en mí opinión la emoción siguió estando. Es que ya cuando escucho la intro o veo a los personajes en acción me agarra una nostalgia.

These four episodes were full of emotion. I read mixed reviews, but I thought they were good. I'm a little shocked that it took them so long to release the finale and also by the way they decided to divide it up, but oh well, it's done now. I think these four episodes had some nonsensical details, but in my opinion, the emotion was still there. It's just that when I hear the intro or see the characters in action, I get nostalgic.

El primer capítulo fue el más introductorio al mostrarnos lo qué estaba pasando tras los recientes acontecimientos, hay cosas que no me gustaron tanto, como la actitud de Dustin y su distanciamiento con Steven, entre otras cosas. Fue un capítulo tranquilo y acorde a lo esperado, sentando las bases para lo que se viene.

The first episode was more of an introduction, showing us what was happening after the recent events. There were some things I didn't like so much, such as Dustin's attitude and his distancing himself from Steven, among other things. It was a quiet episode, as expected, laying the groundwork for what's to come.

Para mí el segundo estuvo mucho mejor, ahí se empezó a ver la acción y tuvo esas escenas de persecución de demogorgon. Me encantó la escena de la mamá de Mike y Nancy defendiendo a la pequeña Holly con una botella de vidrio cortada. Esa escena fue bastante criticada también, pero para mí fue un mil porque nos demuestra la fuerza que podemos sacar en momentos de crisis para defendernos y defender a los nuestros. A partir de ahí sentí mucha más emoción por todo lo que se avecinaba. Sé que la serie no es perfecta, que tiene sus fallos, pero también trae momentos épicos y nostálgicos y te va preparando sutilmente para lo que se venga. No estoy para nada lista en ese sentido, pero bueno, que salga lo que tenga que salgar.

For me, the second one was much better. That's when the action started and there were those scenes with the Demogorgon chase. I loved the scene with Mike and Nancy's mom defending little Holly with a broken glass bottle. That scene was also heavily criticized, but for me it was brilliant because it shows the strength we can draw on in times of crisis to defend ourselves and our loved ones. From then on, I felt much more excited about everything that was to come. I know the series isn't perfect, that it has its flaws, but it also has epic and nostalgic moments and subtly prepares you for what's to come. I'm not ready for that at all, but hey, whatever happens, happens.

Aunque concuerdo con que el mejor capítulo fue el 4to, ese final fue épico y al fin le están dando un poco de crédito a Will, que siento que es uno de los grandes personajes de esta temporada. Quedé un poco decepcionada con Once, por ahora no demostró una gran utilidad en estos capítulos, pero obvio que es parte importante en la historia. Siempre elevenista por acá, así que espero ver más escenas potentes por su parte.

Although I agree that the best episode was the fourth, that ending was epic, and they are finally giving Will some credit, who I feel is one of the great characters of this season. I was a little disappointed with Eleven; so far, she hasn't been very useful in these episodes, but she is obviously an important part of the story. I'm always rooting for her, so I hope to see more powerful scenes from her.

Y bueno, cada personaje se lució en lo suyo y tuvo momentos para brillar. Eso es lo genial de esta serie, no siento que tenga un único protagonista. Hubo muchos diálogos hermosos para destacar acerca de que la música nos puede salvar y el valor de ser uno mismo y no buscar en nadie más lo que llevamos dentro. Estoy muy ansiosa por ver el resto de capítulos, pero, al mismo tiempo, sé que seguro tendremos algunas pérdidas importantes y todavía no estoy lista para dejar ir la serie. Pero todo tiene su ciclo y acá estaremos mirando.

Well, each character excelled in their own way and had moments to shine. That's what's great about this series; I don't feel like there's a single protagonist. There were many beautiful dialogues to highlight about how music can save us and the value of being ourselves and not looking to anyone else for what we have inside. I'm very eager to see the rest of the episodes, but at the same time, I know we're sure to have some significant losses, and I'm not ready to let go of the series yet. But everything has its cycle, and we'll be here watching.
