A crazy war for a sane peace [EN/ES]

Can a war led by a fool lift a friend out of depression, and even more so, save our version of the universe? It seems unlikely. Even fantastical. However, it's known that seemingly absurd ideas sometimes work better than the beaten path.

This one below is "crazy," the improviser, the tireless chatterbox, and also the one who hasn't made sense of his home life: Deadpool.

This is his buddy on crazy adventures, the depressed "friend", haunted by his violent and painful past.

This other bald girl, who desires power and absolute control over the Multiverse; who hates mutants (especially her "brother"), is the supervillain Cassandra Nova.

What is Deadpool and Wolverine (2024) about? A war between "good guys" and "bad guys"? Yes. Another one. But (the but is important), it has a parallel plot much more intense and strange than the one offered by the string of action scenes. It's about the encounter with yourself. You heard that right. What would happen if you encountered versions of yourself from a past or a possible future? Do you save them, scorn them, or confront them?

Yes, fellow cinephiles, I wondered that too. We're used to thinking that the past stays in the past, and that the future doesn't yet exist. For now, that's true, but we live at the beginning of a technological era where virtuality and artificial intelligence are making many things that previously only belonged to fantasy narratives a reality. What would happen if, 50 or 100 years from now, you could face your childhood self, your teenage self, your middle-aged self, or your elderly self? What would you do if you met the "selves" of what you could have been, of the lives you could have lived? I'm not talking about time travel, but rather realistic virtual travel.

Well, this is a beautiful idea transformed into a parallel plot and images within the fourth installment of this strange superhero known as Deadpool. In the midst of his crazy behavior, he tries to shake off his colleague's past to get rid of the mental cobwebs that weigh him down. You know it, I know it: it's better to be irritated than depressed, so Deadpool repeatedly applies that recipe "against" his friend Wolverine, creating no small number of comical combat scenes.

Thus, the mismatched superhero duo, in addition to saving the universe, dedicates themselves to saving themselves, under the motto: "The people we save, then save us too."

I was expecting a fantastic action comedy, and I recommend you go with that attitude, because that's what it's all about.

Now, if you pay close attention to some key scenes, you'll also notice the soft underbelly lurking beneath the indestructible bodies of these tough, relentless heroes. They also have a heart. That's why Deadpool and Wolverine has the appeal of being a seemingly light comedy.

Pero (es importante el pero), tiene una trama paralela mucho más intensa y extraña que la ofrecida por el collar de escenas de acción. Se trata del encuentro contigo mismo. Como lo oyes. ¿Qué pasaría si te encontraras con versiones de ti mismo venidas de un pasado o de un posible futuro? ¿Las salvas, las desprecias, las enfrentas? Sí, amigos cinéfilos, yo también me pregunté eso.

Estamos acostumbrados a pensar que el pasado se queda en el pasado, y que el futuro todavía no existe. Por ahora es así, pero vivimos en el principio de una era tecnológica donde la virtualidad y la inteligencia artificial están haciendo realidad muchas cosas que antes solo pertenecían a la narrativa fantástica.

¿Qué pasaría si de aquí a 50 o 100 años existiera la posibilidad de que encarar a tu yo niño, tu yo adolescente, tu yo de edad media o tu yo anciano? Incluso, ¿qué harías si conocieras a los “yos” de lo que pudiste ser, de las vidas que pudiste vivir? No hablo de viajes en el tiempo sino de viajes virtuales bien realistas.

Pues bien, esta es una bella idea convertida en trama paralela e imágenes dentro de la cuarta entrega de este extraño superhéroe conocido como Deadpool. Él, en medio de su disparatada conducta, intenta sacudir el pasado de su colega para que se deshaga de esas telarañas mentales que lo abruman. Lo sabes tú, lo sé yo: es mejor estar irritado que deprimido, así que Deadpool aplica esa receta repetidamente “contra” su amigo Wolverine, creando no pocas escenas cómicas de combate.

Así, el disparejo dúo de superhéroes, además de salvar el universo, se dedica a salvarse a sí mismos, bajo la divisa de: “Las personas que salvamos, luego nos salvan también”.

Yo esperaba ver una comedia fantástica de acción, y te recomiendo que vayas con esa actitud, pues de eso se trata.

”Vamos a darle a la audiencia...”

Ahora, si atiendes bien a algunas escenas importantes, también advertirás la parte blanda que late bajo los cuerpos indestructibles de estos héroes duros e implacables. Ellos también tienen su corazoncito. Por eso, Deadpool and Wolverine tiene el atractivo de ser una comedia aparentemente ligera.
