RE: Revisiting two of my favorite movies in the same day

Arrival is among my favorite films. Not only does it have an excellent plot and a wonderful soundtrack that enhances the narrative's pace and tension, but it also begs the question: What would we do if we had the ability to think heptapodally? A way of thinking that overturns our linear conception of time. Would our natural capacity for decision-making disappear? Would the future and the sense of novelty disappear?
The key elements of an alien "invasion," international conflict, the US military, processes of cognition and mutual discovery among civilizations, plus Amy Adams's adorable performance, are enough to warrant watching this film several times.

I'll go back and give Arrival another chance. I think I must have been distracted when I was trying to watch it because other than Aliens being involved in it, I don't actually recall a great deal about it. If it affected you that much, there must be a lot more to it than I am aware of right now.
Indeed, my friend, give it another chance. The film is based on the short story The Story of Your Life by American writer Ted Chiang. I had read it before seeing Arrival.
