The long-awaited Black Adam is here. I have been waiting for this movie for a while now and it is finally here. It was an amazing experience for me which got me thinking is Black Adam replacing the kid Shazam? I think he should, in my opinion. This movie caused a lot of reactions from people as some people said it is a generic and cliché movie, while for some people it was a blast for them. I will give my own opinion about the movie by talking about the positives and negatives.

For a while now, we have been curious and anticipating what DC has for us after Suicide Squad in the extended universe and I say, Black Adam was a good comeback. Now I feel like there is more to come from the DCEU and I am curious already.

Black Adam (2022) is an American superhero movie that was released in October 2022 and was distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. The movie is related to Shazam (2019) which is the 11th installment in the DC extended universe and it starred Dwayne Johnson with Aldis Hodge, Quintessa Swindell, Pierce Brosnan, Noah Centineo, Sarah Shahi, and Marwan Kenzari. Also, Black Adam was directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, written by Adam Sztykiel, and based on characters from DC comics. Also Dwayne was part of the producers' crew.

The movie revolves around Black Adam, a DC comic character, an ancient superhuman who was released from his magical prison by a group of archeologists who were in search of the Sabbac crown. As he was freed, they convinced him that the nation of Kahndaq needed a hero to free them from the tyrant rule of a crime syndicate called the Intergang.

Little Synopsis Of The Movie

The first few minutes scenes were set back in 2000 BC when king Ahk-Ton of Kahndaq, a tyrant who rules and enslaved his people to dig up a precious mineral stone called Eternium which he used to create the crown of Sabbac infused with the power of six powerful demons from the underworld. Ahk-Ton's dark ambition backfired against him when the people revolted. Then a boy was given the powers of Shazam by the Council of Wizards, transforming him into Kahndaq's champion who eventually killed the tyrant king and ended his rule of slavery.

Many years passed and Kahndaq flourished until the present day when a criminal group called Intergang oppressed them for their minerals and resources. Adrianna, an archaeologist, and resistance fighter went in search of the Sabbac crown with her brother, and her colleagues Samir and Ishmael. As they found the crown in a tomb cave, the Intergang men tried to apprehend them to collect the crown but failed because Adrianna summoned Teth Adam from his supposed tomb. Adam responded to her call and killed almost all the Intergang men.

The killing news got global, then Amanda, the leader of Suicide Squad and director of A.R.G.U.S calls on the Justice society to apprehend Adam and stop him from further destruction to Kahndaq. Justice society; Doctor Fate, Hawkman, Cyclone, and Atom smasher came to Kahndaq to stop Adam but didn't succeed as the people of Kahndaq want him to be their hero.

As the movie went on we discovered that Ishmael is the leader of the Intergang syndicate when he went in pursuit of Amon, Adrianna's son, for the Sabbac crown. Amon hides the crown and Ishmael takes him captive. Amidst the chaos of finding Amon, Adam and the Justice Society work together to save him. What happens to Amon? Was he saved? Did Adam surrender to the Justice society? Did Ishmael succeed with his dark ambition? You have to watch the movie to know.

My Opinion About This Movie and Rating.

Black Adam was a good watch for me, it was thrilling and intense. Before watching the movie I tried not to read or watch reviews of people who had watched it, because I didn't want to be discouraged from watching it. But then are you the kind of person that relies on people's reviews to decide what movie to watch? Well, I think you shouldn't rely on people's reviews to choose the kind of movie to watch. I got to experience this movie without the influence of other people's reviews or negatives. This movie has provoked a lot of mixed reviews through which people have criticized this movie and said it is generic and cliché, but in my own opinion, I think that Black Adam is a good start for the DC extended universe. What DC gave us in Black Adam is quality and not quantity like The Marvel Studios recently.

The plot; of this movie is straightforward, action-packed, and easy to understand though there were some little potholes whereby we were not given the background story of some characters. The scripting was okay, but a little above average because as I watched the movie, I could easily detect what is going to happen next. Some touches of humor that were inserted in the Script were okay, the best humor DC has had so far, and felt unnecessary to me because we were meant to understand that black Adam is a serious character and a superhero that has been imprisoned for 5,000 years because of his uncontrollable rage, so how did he all of a sudden get to display sarcastic behaviors or mannerisms. Why a lot of people criticize the plot of this movie is because they have seen it all in lots of superhero movies. People are tired of superhero movies, they want something new, fresh, and different. Well, I hate to burst your bubbles because you all are not getting that anytime soon.

The characters, were all fantastic in their roles. Dwayne did fabulous work with the Role of Black Adam and the acting was perfectly executed. He had so much fun being the Black Adam that he was the star of the movie and which makes me believe DC Comics has more surprises installed for us in the future. For Dwayne's role in the movie, he was supposed to be the villain but instead we were given a brutal, no-nonsense hero, which I think the crew pulled off successfully. It also makes me wonder why Black Adam wasn't introduced in Shazam because it would have been the perfect timing.

Doctor Fate's character, played by Pierce Brosnan, is one of my favorite characters in the movie. He was fantastic, amazing and his mannerisms flowed with his humor. But then, I felt bad when his character was killed off unexpectedly and watered down. His character shouldn't have been killed off like that because it had futuristic potential. Anytime I see Pierce Brosnan in movies, I am always excited, he is my personal James Bond. Also, we have the Hawkman played by Aldis Hodge, who was a rigid character, he was the one that went toe-to-toe with Black Adam in combat. Everything about him was amazing and reminds me of Iron man.

Then lastly, Cyclone, Atom Smasher, and Adrianna's brother were also amazing with their roles, though I wish we were given an insight into their background story. Adrianna's brother was a comic relief for me apart from Doctor Fate and Adrianna. The character I wish wasn't included in this movie was Ishmael, yes he became the villain at the end but didn't execute his role well. Maybe he would have been a satisfying villain if his role was written more fiercely and brutally.

The Cinematography and CGI were amazing and top-notch. It has been a while since I had seen a DC movie with so much intense and brutal action. The picture was fantastic, bright, colorful, and appealing to the eyes. The animations and VFX were superb. Doctor Fate stole every scene he was in with his powers, it was ionic. This movie is filled with non-stop action scenes. Also, the director used the power of slow motion to his advantage to further intensify the action scenes, but at a point, I think the slow motion was overused.

In conclusion, a movie must not be a masterpiece for you to enjoy it. I just want a movie that I can enjoy, that can entertain me and give me good chuckles. Life is too brutal to be waiting for a masterpiece to drop. Also, there is no perfection, but in imperfections, we see uniqueness and quality. Black Adam is an entertaining movie, with a fantastic crew, and actors, and packed with non-stop action scenes. The killing was quite brutal which was part of the quality of the action scenes. I am rating this movie 8 out of 10 and this movie further enlightens us that the future of DC is looking bright and full of high expectations.

It wasn't that good it didn't have much character development and they killed off Dr fate to early with no chance of building a connection with the audience

Yes, the movie lacked character development, true and also we didn't have the chance to meet Doctor Fate before he was killed, which I see as a big flaw. I guess they were more focus on Adam and the action that all other characters played a single aspect of their role.

Thank you, it lovely to have you here. I appreciate your visit, comment and support. Have a fantastic day ahead.!CTP

I enjoyed the action of this film, characters like Black Adam, Hawkman, Doctor Fate, in my opinion were very well represented; now my problem was with part of the script and development of several characters especially with the main villain and with Atom Smasher and Cyclone who only fulfilled the comic role and nothing more.

Hopefully for the sequel a better script will be developed to make it much better than the first part.

The way villain was introduced into the plot was sudden. Some many characters in the movie were not developed well but then I think in the case of cyclone and Atom smasher, what if they are keeping us in suspense with their story till when its time for them.

Let hope together that in the subsequent sequels they talk more about them all, but still the movie was a good watch for me regardless.
I appreciate your comment here. Thank you for the visit.!CTP
