Wow! I must say that I am impressed with James Gunn for what he did with Guardian of The Galaxy Vol. 3. At the end of the movie, I was left with a feeling of satisfaction and a smile on my face. This movie was worth my time, I don't regret watching the movie, and for the very first time, I am beginning to reconsider looking forward to other futuristic plans Marvel has installed.

This Volume 3 of this franchise serves as the perfect ending to one of the most amazing franchises in the Marvel world and let's not forget it is the second-highest-grossing film now in 2023. Let's hope we have more grossing movies by the end of the year.

After six years of waiting anxiously, James Gunn, the director and writer of this franchise delivered a thrilling, fantastic, hilarious, and emotional conclusion to this trilogy, giving the audience the chance to actually connect emotionally with the characters. As the Guardians face their biggest challenge of saving one of their own from a psychotic scientist who created him from his past that they were not aware of, they had to put aside their differences and fight together as a family unit.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is a superhero film that was based on Marvel Comics characters produced and distributed by Marvel Studios. This is the third and final installment in The Guardians of the Galaxy franchise. It revolves around the Guardians fighting to protect Rocket, one of their own, from his creator. This movie as usual came with an exceptional cast which includes Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldaña, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Will Poulter, Sean Gunn, Chukwudi Iwuji, Linda Cardellini, Nathan Fillion, and our famous Sylvester Stallone (it was nice to him in this installment).

Little About The Plot.

At the new headquarters of the Guardians on Knowhere, Quill is still mourning the loss of Gamora, his love, he continues to drink alcohol to stupor and ignoring everything around him. Unfortunately, something terrible happens when Rocket was suddenly attacked by an unknown warlock, to the extent that he was badly injured.

The Guardians couldn't heal him or make him so Nebula accessed Rocket's body system only to discover that Rocket has a kill switch that won't permit them to operate on him. This kill switch was embedded inside him by Orgocorp, a company owned by psychotic scientist who is Rocket's creator, the High Evolutionary.

Not accepting their defeat and limitations, Quill made the quick decision to take their spaceship to Orgocorp to go find help for Rocket so he wouldn't die. As Rocket remains unconscious, he begins to recall all his past from when he was a young raccoon to when he was captured to be experimented on by the High Evolutionary. Rocket intelligence became enhanced that it superseded his creator's own which made the High Evolutionary furious about Rocket.

On the other hand, Nebula and Quill were busy with finding a way to save Rocket's life with the help of Gamora and her people, The Ravagers. Will Quill and the Guardians get help for Rocket? Will Rocket survive?

My Review And Rating.

The plot of this movie was well crafted and it created space for new characters that would fit in well with the Guardians. It also created an opportunity for the audience to be able to know the backstory behind our grumpy Rocket and some of the Guardians. It was nice to know the story behind Rocket and how he was created. Also, for the first time I was able to understand Drax, how his mind functions and why he says some of the silly things he says.

The script was well written kudos to James Gunn for that. He was able to masterfully blend the action, comedy, and drama while at the same time maintaining an excellent spotlight on the characters and their relationships with backstories. The opening scene was fantastic and the ending left me with a satisfying feeling. Storytelling of the movie was also excellent and I love how all the scenes were arranged so that it gave the movie an easy flow.

Let's talk about the cast. Like I said earlier, the cast of this movie were exceptional and amazing with their performances. Quill and Rocket did an amazing job with their roles. They were able to deliver heartfelt and emotional performances while still holding onto their strong-willed features. Drax and Mantis also impressed me with their performance but then Nebula blew my mind. Also before I forget, Cosmo the Spacedog was a character I was in totally in awe of with her telepathic powers. The supporting characters were all amazing!

The cinematography of this movie done by Henry Braham was fantastic and artistic. The visuals were stunning with vibrant colors and design that were almost. One can't tell if it was CGI or not. The editing was excellently well. It was also energetic and smooth. My favorite part was the CLASSIC ROCK songs that were used in scenes which synchronized with mood and tone of each scene. That was brilliant.

The themes of this movie which are friendship, heroism, redemption, and family were well portrayed and explored. Rating this movie, I will give 4.8 out of 5 stars. It was an amazing film for me, I enjoyed it and it is a befitting end for the franchise. If you haven't watched it yet, try and see it soon.

GOTG VOL 3 is among the best movies in the MCU, an excellent closure to this trilogy of misfit heroes who knew how to form a powerful family, grew, improved and closed deep wounds and it was so much so that they could say goodbye and move on.

I like your happiness and drive for what the MCU can give in the future, but I think this being a very independent story of what happens in that mega franchise, my opinion about what was phase 4 and what is phase 5 does not correspond to what is this movie, James Gunn's last for Marvel Studios (for now).

I saw it a few days ago, I had a great time watching it. An excellent closure for the trilogy directed by Gunn.

That's why I have good expectations with Gunn now in charge of the DC universe. He did well at Marvel with Guardians, I hope he does the same with DC.
