Unexpectedly Fun! Heads Of States (2025) || Movie Review.

Watching films that lightens up your mood and makes you laugh is what I love to experience most of the time. However, I still appreciate and enjoy films that are thought-provoking and enlightening.

Heads Of States is a movie that is fun, lightens up your mood and delivers a good adrenaline rush for you. This movie is an action and comedy film. It was directed by Ilya Naishuller, written by Harrison Query and distributed by Amazon Studios. It starred Idris Elba, John Cena, Priyanka Chopra, Carla Gugino, Jack Quaid, Stephen Root and Paddy Considine.

The storyline of this movie revolves around two powerful world leaders; the president of USA (John Cena) and the prime minister of UK (Idris Elba) who don't like each other but they have to work together to unveil a foreign common enemy who is after their lives.

These two leaders started disliking each other when an argument ensued between them in public during a joint press conference. They both had different views on leadership and how it is meant to be carried out. This public argument was beginning to cause whispers and doubts around the world. To present a united front and make everything seem okay, both leaders were advised to fly together to an upcoming NATO summit in Trieste using Air Force One.

On their way to this summit, the flight was hijacked, attacked and then shot down from the sky. Sam and Will (the leaders) barely made it out alive. Now they have to survive on their own without any hope of help coming for them as they have been presumed dead. Will they work together? Or do they go their separate ways?

My Review And Rating.

When I saw the trailer of this movie, I thought I wouldn't enjoy it considering that I am not a fan of John Cena as an actor. However, I watched this movie because of Idris and Priyanka. Don't get me wrong, the cast of this movie is a good mix and I say the director did a fantastic job with the cast.

They all fitted into their roles like a glove to a hand. They all were fantastic and amazing with their performances. Cena surprised me and Priyanka was a bad ass even though her screen time was limited, she was still able to get into the spotlight. Idris and John had an excellent chemistry, a bromance that was silly but fun at the same time. Priyanka’s fighting scenes were good, I loved every part of it.

Another thing I love about this film is the storyline and writer. The story was written well and it deserves praise. I love how all the humor was well mixed with the action and politics. All the comedy didn't feel force, it felt natural and it came easy. The dialogues were well arranged which gave this movie a very good natural pace. Not too fast or too slow. From all the funny and witty conversations in the movie you could tell that the main characters had a good commitment for this movie to succeed in the box office.

All the fighting stunts and moves in this movie didn't feel fake or acted up but rather felt almost real. It was solid and it keeps getting better as you keep watching the movie up until the end. The gun shoot out scenes were thrilling to watch as it gave me a feel of those classic thrillers back in the days. The car chases were top tier and well shot. Wonderful camera angles that just increase the tension and suspense.

All the action scenes didn't feel repetitive or weak. It was as if they kept on bringing new stunts. This technique didn't let me lose focus or get bored easily. Also, the locations and scenes featured in the movie were beautiful and clearly shot. They were all appealing to the eyes.

Rating this movie, I will give it 8 out 10 stars. It is a nice, funny, action-packed and a movie that stays with you. The chemistry between the cast is enough to remind you of the movie anytime.
