¡Hola comunidad amante de las películas! Esta serie la terminé de ver hace unas semanas y no había tenido tiempo de pasar por aquí a dejarles un resumen junto con su recomendación. La serie está basada en una historieta argentina de ciencia ficción que lleva el mismo nombre y que fue publicada por primera vez en 1957, y creada por Héctor Germán Oesterheld y Francisco Solano López.
Hello movie loving community! I finished watching this series a few weeks ago and hadn't had time to stop by here to leave you a summary along with your recommendation. The series is based on an Argentine science fiction comic by the same name, first published in 1957, and created by Héctor Germán Oesterheld and Francisco Solano López.
La Serie/The Serie
El Eternauta es una serie argentina original de Nétflix de ciencia ficción. Está protagonizada por Ricardo Darín, Carla Peterson, César Troncoso, Andrea Pietra, Ariel Staltari, Marcelo Subiotto y Claudio Martínez Bel. La primera temporada de la serie se estrenó el 30 de abril de 2025, bajo la dirección de Bruno Stagnaro. Se ha dado a conocer que se va a hacer una segunda temporada, pero no tiene fecha de estreno.
El Eternauta is an Argentine original Nétflix science fiction series. It stars Ricardo Darín, Carla Peterson, César Troncoso, Andrea Pietra, Ariel Staltari, Marcelo Subiotto and Claudio Martínez Bel. The first season of the series premiered on April 30, 2025, under the direction of Bruno Stagnaro. It has been announced that a second season will be made, but has no premiere date.
Resumen/Summary
La serie trata sobre una invasión alienígena a la Tierra, la cual utiliza una tormenta de nieve tóxica para aniquilar a la mayor parte de la población. En Buenos Aires, lugar donde se asienta la historia, se genera una resistencia a la invasión. Esta es encabezada por Juan Salvo, veterano de la guerra de Malvinas, su amigo Alfredo Favalli, y distintos personajes que tienen como objetivo la supervivencia colectiva.
The series is about an alien invasion of Earth, which uses a toxic snowstorm to annihilate most of the population. In Buenos Aires, where the history is set, a resistance to the invasion is generated. This is led by Juan Salvo, a veteran of the Malvinas war, his friend Alfredo Favalli, and different characters whose objective is collective survival.
Curiosidades/Curiosities
Los planes de adaptar la historieta iniciaron en 1998 con una película dirigida por Adolfo Aristarain, sin embargo, su realización no se concretó a causa de los problemas de derecho de autor y la falta de presupuesto económico. Recién en 2020 Nétflix adquiere los derechos de autor de la historieta para adaptarla en formato serie, no obstante el proyecto no se lleva a cabo debido a la pandemia a causa del covid-19. Este proyecto al fin se lleva a cabo en 2023.
Plans to adapt the comic book began in 1998 with a film directed by Adolfo Aristarain, however, its realization did not materialize because of copyright problems and lack of economic budget. It was not until 2020 that Nétflix acquired the copyrights of the comic book to adapt it into a series format, but the project was not carried out due to the pandemic caused by covid-19. This project finally takes place in 2023.
Mi opinión/My opinion
La trama comienza cuando Juan está en la casa de uno de sus amigos de la infancia jugando al truco, como hacen todas las semanas. La familiaridad del idioma, el tono, el humor y el contexto trae una sonrisa a quienes estamos acostumbrados a escuchar doblajes y es que resulta más realista ver historias ambientadas en nuestra propia cultura, aunque traten de una invasión alienígena.
The plot begins when Juan is at the house of one of his childhood friends playing truco, as they do every week. The familiarity of the language, the tone, the humor and the context brings a smile to those of us who are used to listening to dubbing and it is more realistic to see histories set in our own culture, even if they deal with an alien invasion.
Cuando el grupo de amigos está concentrado en las cartas aparece la catástrofe. Cae sobre Buenos Aires una nieve tóxica que termina matando a todas las personas que tienen contacto con ella. Pronto, y no de buena manera, deducen de qué se trata y comienzan a intentar sobrevivir encerrándose en la casa. El terror se puede percibir desde entonces en aquella excelente actuación de los personajes.
When the group of friends is concentrating on the cards, catastrophe strikes. A toxic snow falls on Buenos Aires and ends up killing everyone who comes in contact with it. Soon, and not in a good way, they figure out what it is and start trying to survive by locking themselves in the house. The terror can be perceived from then on in that excellent performance of the characters.
El primer giro de la trama es la necesidad de salir, Juan desea volver a casa para buscar a su familia. Como traje de supervivencia eligen un equipo de respiración subacuática y terminan pareciéndose a submarinistas navegando lentamente por un mar seco y mortal de nieve. Así empiezan una serie de salidas y vueltas a la casa donde en cada aventura se sumergen en una ciudad que es familiar y, a la vez, totalmente extraña. Y comienza a ser aún más preocupante cuando descubren a unos seres que no son de este mundo y que son tan mortales como la nieve. Entonces comienza la resistencia.
The first plot twist is the need to get out, Juan wants to return home to look for his family. As a survival suit they choose an underwater breathing apparatus and end up looking like scuba divers slowly navigating through a dry and deadly sea of snow. Thus begin a series of trips out and around the house where on each adventure they dive into a city that is both familiar and, at the same time, utterly alien. And it starts to become even more disturbing when they discover beings that are not of this world and are as deadly as the snow. Then the resistance begins.
La primera temporada termina justo cuando comienzan a darse cuenta de que hay un poder mayor que lo controla todo. Es un embole, porque tendremos que esperar unos años más para saber de qué se trata o cómo termina. No he leído la historieta pero si le dan largas a la otra temporada, probablemente salga a buscarla por alguna librería de libros usados.
The first season ends just when they begin to realize that there is a greater power that controls everything. It's a bummer, because we'll have to wait a few more years to find out what it's all about or how it ends. I haven't read the comic but if they drag out the other season, I'll probably go out and look for it in a used bookstore.
