Serie-review: El juego del calamar / Squid game (ENG/ESP)
¡Hola a todos! Acabo de terminar de ver esta serie que me gustó bastante. Si te gustan las distopías te va a encantar. La primera temporada me pareció super original y no se asemejaba en nada a lo que había visto antes. Suele gustarme el humor negro y el horror en un ambiente inesperado, por lo que la vi de un tirón. Me hizo acordar un poco a “La larga marcha”, un libro del autor Stephen King, aunque el juego es otro muy distinto. La segunda temporada llegó mucho después y tenía altas expectativas con ella, tuvo algunos detalles que no me gustaron, pero en general me pareció genial. ¡Y ahora acabé de ver la tercera! La historia está completa… aquí les digo qué pienso de ella.
Hello everyone! I just finished watching this series which I quite enjoyed. If you like dystopias you are going to love it. I found the first season to be super original and not at all like anything I had seen before. I tend to like dark humor and horror in an unexpected setting, so I watched it in one sitting. It reminded me a bit of “The Long Walk”, a book by author Stephen King, although the game is a very different one. The second season came much later and I had high expectations with it, it had some details that I didn't like, but overall I thought it was great. And now I just finished watching the third one! The history is complete... here I tell you what I think of it.
Para lo que aún no vieron la serie, les cuento que El juego del calamar es una serie distópica, de suspenso y supervivencia, también contiene un horror que no esperas. En algunos momentos tiene cierto humor negro que a muchos le choca un poco. Se puede ver por Netflix de manera completa. Ambientado como si fuera un inocente juego de niños, la serie transcurre en el horror macabro de la muerte y la traición.
For those who haven't seen the series yet, I tell you that The Squid Game is a dystopian series, suspense and survival, it also contains a horror that you don't expect. In some moments it has a certain black humor that shocks many a little. It can be watched on Netflix in full. Set as if it were an innocent children's game, the series takes place in the macabre horror of death and betrayal.
La tercera temporada es una continuación de la anterior que transcurre tres años después de que Ki-hoon ganara El juego del calamar. Ha tomado la decisión de renunciar a ir a Estados Unidos con todo el dinero que ha ganado y regresa con la idea de descubrir quiénes son los organizadores para llevar a cabo una venganza y así darle justicia a tantas muertes. Comienza buscando al reclutador por los subtes de la ciudad y, cuando logra su cometido, la trama da un giro inesperado que termina con el protagonista jugando de nuevo a los juegos. Sin embargo, esta vez tiene todo a su favor, porque sabe a qué se enfrenta.
The third season is a continuation of the previous one that takes place three years after Ki-hoon won The Squid Game. He has made the decision to forgo going to the United States with all the money he has won and returns with the idea of discovering who the organizers are in order to carry out a vendetta and thus bring justice to so many deaths. He starts looking for the recruiter in the subways of the city and, when he achieves his goal, the plot takes an unexpected turn that ends with the protagonist playing games again. However, this time he has everything in his favor, because he knows what he is up against.
La trama resulta predecible hasta cierto punto porque estos juegos son diferentes a los anteriores y la reacción de los nuevos personajes le pone un colorido diferente. Me gustó el giro distintivo que tiene cuando las cosas se dan vuelta y los jugadores toman el control de manera inesperada. Sin embargo, aquí termina y es donde empieza la tercera temporada. ¡Gracias Netflix por no dejar todo inconcluso!
The plot is predictable to a certain extent because these games are different from the previous ones and the reaction of the new characters puts a different color on it. I liked the distinctive twist it has when things turn around and the players unexpectedly take control. However, this is where it ends and this is where season 3 begins, thank you Netflix for not leaving everything unfinished!
En la tercera temporada vemos juegos mucho más peligrosos, retorcidos y con consecuencias letales. Tras el fracaso de la rebelión, que termina con muchas muertes, vemos como el protagonista entra en una serie de shock emocional del cual no es capaz de salir hasta casi el final, cuando se hace cargo de un bebé, ¡sí de un bebé! El cual toma el lugar de su madre, complicando las cosas. Esto lleva a un final muy inesperado y a un dilema moral extraordinario. El final no me gustó mucho, pero tiene su buena lógica. No voy a hablarles de más detalles para no adelantarles mucho la trama. Es una serie genial que está bueno ver.
In the third season we see much more dangerous games, twisted and with lethal consequences. After the failure of the rebellion, which ends with many deaths, we see how the protagonist goes into a series of emotional shock from which he is not able to get out until almost the end, when he takes charge of a baby, yes a baby! Who takes the place of his mother, complicating things. This leads to a very unexpected ending and an extraordinary moral dilemma. I didn't like the ending very much, but it has a good logic to it. I'm not going to tell you more details so as not to give you too much plot spoilers. It's a great series that is good to watch.

Me sorprende el revuelo que genera esta serie con cada temporada. Quizá ahora que todo terminó le de una oportunidad.
Tuvo mucho marketing, por suerte ya se puede ver completa de un tirón.
