When we think of the Russo brothers' work, we usually think of one of the highest grossing films in history: Avengers Endgame. But if we talk about the Russo brothers we also refer to other films that have not had a great impact on the cinema, but still have performances, stories and scripts extremely legendary. for example, The Gray Man, Rescue Mission, NY with no exit. Which are very good movies but did not have much acceptance due to different issues. In this review I wanted to comment on one of these movies that is not part of Marvel but that, if it is part of the film work of the Russo brothers, and his name is Cherry, an amazing movie where Tom Holland is the main protagonist. A man who struggles with his drug addiction and to rescue the love of his life. Cuando pensamos en el trabajo de los hermanos Russo, normalmente pensamos en una de la película más taquillera de la historia: Avengers Endgame. But of course, the movie would be nothing without the good acting of the actors, of whom I highlight Tom Holland famous for appearing in movies as the arachnid hero and Ciara Bravo who if you don't remember is the girl so recurrent in the nickelodeon series Big Time Rush.
But without a doubt Tom Holland's performance is the most surprising, as his character is pushed to the limit. A young soldier struggling to find his place in the world after the war, Holland gives an impressive performance, showing a full and deep emotional range. Holland has proven his ability to play complex and emotional characters in the past, but "Cherry" takes it to a new level. His performance is not only compelling, but heartbreaking as he shows a man struggling to find his way after the war.
And if we talk about Ciara Bravo we can notice that also her performance is iconic, in fact, I was surprised to see her as zendaya in the series Euphoria. Her performance is touching and authentic, showing the strength and vulnerability of the character throughout the film. Emily is a key character in Cherry's story, and Bravo portrays her with skill and empathy. Her on-screen chemistry with Holland is palpable, and together they create one of the most touching love stories in recent cinema.
