Conan the Barbarian - A Sword-Wielding, Monster-Slaying.

Hello movies lover, and members of the cinetv community, today is a special day and what made it special. I was having a conversation with my dad, and from one topic we moved to the next until we started talking about movies we had watched together. This is a man who always hide action movies from us but I’m surprise he wanted me to remember an action movie he watched a long time ago.

This is a movie the GenZ wouldn’t know and I have a friend in this community who always claim she’s not a GenZ but I doubt she would know this film. I won’t mention her name because I’m trying to keep her identity a secret. :)

From the title, you should already know the film I want to talk about.

I’ll have you know that the actor or main character of this film is a superstar, the one who played “Terminator” in the Terminator sequel. His name is Arnold Schwarzenegger, there was a time in his life he was award “Worst Actor” and guess what, he turned out to be a governor of a state.

Let’s get back to “Conan The Barbarian”

You see, this is the film my dad and I talked about today. He reminded me of some scene and it just shows how great his memories are. Here are some fun fact: "Conan the Barbarian" (1982) is a fantasy epic that's equal parts action-packed, humorous, and absurd. It was a movie that was wildly loved by man people which was why a second part was made. The truth is that, I didn’t even know the movie was released in 1982, that was before I was born but I enjoyed watching it.

The Storyline

I can’t really remember all the datails of the movie but I remember it follows the story of Conan, a muscle-bound warrior with a thirst for revenge against Thulsa Doom, the cult leader who slaughtered his family and enslaved him as a child. Conan's quest for vengeance takes him on a journey of sword fights, monster battles, and... well, more sword fights. One of the reason why I remember the film was because it has so many action scenes. After watching Conan, my brother and I would fight with sticks pretending it was a sword. It was when the world was still normal tho.

Here are some of the things that happened in the movie which are interesting.

  • Sword fights galore
  • Arnold's charm: especially his muscles.
  • Campy humor: There were some funny scenes too
  • Fantasy world: The use of CGI was perfect but it did its job for making us wonder if what we were watching was real or not.

In conclusion

"Conan the Barbarian" is a fun movie, it’s a top adventure kind of movie, I wonder why I didn’t think of it during the last cinetv weekly contest. It’s a movie you can watch with your family and have a good laugh, scare and emotional time together. I would recommend that it to anyone born in 1999 below. Lol. 😆

Take a look at good memories

Thanks for reading. My name is Fashtioluwa.

This was my favorite of all the Conans. Arnold Schwarzenegger does know how to put up a good show. It's no doubt a great film.
