Attack on Titan: The Final Season Part 3 Review

Finally after so many years one of the best anime out there for me has come to an end. Attack on Titan announced that for the ending they would make 2 movies instead of another season. Yesterday the final movie animated by Studio MAPPA came out and everyone went crazy. There is no point in saying how great the animation was because only the studio's name says it all.

If you have seen the other movie you most likely know what is about to happen in that one as well. It's basically Eren along with his Titans trying to destroy another base that is considered as their last defense or something. In that fight, humanity with their weapons ends up doing nothing but the final hope Armin, Mikasa and the rest of the crew arrives for a final showdown.

The fight scenes are pretty much quite good, we get to see both "humans" fighting and Titans as well and we also get to see people we all love losing their lives which can be quite touching. Above everything though, one thing that mostly nobody expected, except if you read the manga, is that Eren apparently hasn't forsaken his humanity.

In the last movie and in the last season in general most of us, including me considered that Eren had become a cold-blooded murderer who "easily" decided to take such drastic steps. We can see that aspect of Eren early when he saves a young boy and then while crying he says to him sorry for what he has done and what he will do. I believe that's why Mikasa and Armin are trying to end this without killing him, as deep down they know that he isn't the monster anyone is thinking.

Near the day when Armin talks with Eren, we see that goofy Eren we all knew still has feelings for Mikasa and that he doesn't want her to forget him ever. At the same time we get to hear him saying something that almost nobody expected, this is when Eren says the phrase "I don't want to die". This is not something a cold-blooded person would say.

It turns out, Eren was trying to save "his people" by doing what he did and never forgot them even though it seemed that he cast out his humanity. As we all expected to happen, Eren lost, in fact, Mikasa basically killed him but she never forgot him and even built a small grave for him at their favorite place.

Last but not least, something that i did not expect to see either, which depicts the nature of humanity perfectly in my mind is that even though most of the population died, everyone made huge sacrifices, the war came to an end, everyone forgot everything as time passed by. That led ofc to new wars and destruction as we get to see in the last minutes of the series.

Overall, the series was quite good, the only drawbacks in general were, the many years and months we had to wait each time for a new season or a movie which in a way made us forget what had happened or in general to not be "in" the show. The other thing is the poor animation in some cases like the bad CGI and the dusty fights.

In general, though, the animation was quite on top, the fight scenes and CGI were amazing most of the time and the dialogs were quite emotional for the most part which made the show one of the top out there.

We may or may not like this ending, but there is no denying that it was very enjoyable and epic, it kept us always very attentive and only good works do that.

I found it interesting that despite all the deaths and destruction, humanity still maintained conflicts, no doubt we are like that and the mangaka was in charge of reminding us of it.

The ending was quite interesting for me didn't expect this kind of messages in the end!

no siempre los finales son como se quieren, pero no quita el hecho de que temporada fue buena!

endings are not always the way you want them to be, but it doesn't take away from the fact that the season was good!
