Bucchigiri?! Anime Review 2024

As i have stated in a previous post, this anime season is quite interesting with a lot of interesting titles around. For me most of these interesting titles are basically new seasons of existing anime but apparently, there are some hidden gems which i didn't know beforehand. In general, call me crazy or anything you want but by simply checking out the front image and the description of each anime i can tell 9 out of 10 times whether i will like it or not.

So far my super awesome tactic has been proven successful so i keep on continuing it. So one of these hidden gems was Bucchigiri?! and i decided to give it a go, thankfully once again i liked my choice! Now the anime will have 12 episodes in total, so far i think there are 6-7 out and something quite interesting is that the studio behind it, is the one and only MAPPA. Also, note that this is an original so don't expect a manga or a novel.

Plot

Once again i am not gonna tell you what exactly happening in every episode, i will simply give you a more generic idea. I like doing it that way because i hate spoilers and i also believe that by watching each anime/series/movie you get a different vibe and point of view than only reading a detailed review. I also prefer to read similar reviews as well!

So the anime's thematology is around Schools, fighting and what else, delinquents. We got our boy Arajin a new transfer student or something in a school full of delinquents. The situation is so bad that there are different kinds of groups/clans that are fighting each other for dominance.

Now while everyone is fighting and trying to prove who is the best, Arajin doesn't care about that at all. His only goal is to lose his virginity! A couple of things happen and we see him running to shine to avoid getting beat up. There he basically merges with a spirit, Senya, who gives him his powers for a short while.

Now they basically need to increase their merge level in order to get better but Arajin doesn't care at all about power, fighting and such as you know his goal is to find a girlfriend and lose his virginity as i mentioned earlier.

What I Liked and What I Didn't

Now first of all i really like the animation, they did awesome work, as expected from MAPPA, and even the colors are quite vibrant. It really is amazing. The characters are okish, there are some pretty cool ones like Marito and Mahoro but i think they need a bit more work. Hopefully, if there will be a season 2, i would recommend focusing on developing them more thoroughly.

The fight scenes are quite awesome and it's also quite funny and enjoyable to watch. The protagonist can get pretty annoying in some instances but in general, he seems cool. Even though at the start he is quite annoying as you get buy you can see some actual development around him, i think he is one of the few characters that they focused on further developing some of his personality traits and such.

The anime has still a lot to give if you ask me and if they want they can create more content and more seasons ofc. I really hope that they do so because if it completely ends with only 12 episodes i would be a shame. If you like anime with some fighting and comedy at the same time, then this is for you! If you want to watch something more serious then avoid it! Btw i really like the ending song for some reason, it's a bit stupid but i like it :P

If you like anime with some fighting and comedy at the same time, then this is for you!

This is enough for me to pick this one up, but I have first to add it to my long list of anime to watch. Thank you for sharing. Have a nice day ahead.

The anime looks nice but I'm not into the genre. Reminds me of Jojo's adventure on some parts.

now that you mention it, it has some Jojo vibe!

If I could laugh with the goal of the protagonist where everything is fighting and confrontation and he is pending a totally different thing that is to lose his virginity, so I understand when you say that it can be a little annoying this type of characters and I do not doubt it but as the anime progresses I guess it will improve and lowering a little to this type of personality. I saw the trailer and the design of the characters seem to me super diverse and good. The main character is the only one who has a spirit, or are there other characters who have the same thing happen to him? It's interesting that this is not based on any manga or novel is the first time I hear something like that, Good post <3

You will like it i think!

Regarding your question, so far only another spirit has emerged which seems to be like the rival os Senya!

Arajin doesn't care about that at all. His only goal is to lose his virginity!

Now that's quite motivation that he got 𓁹‿𓁹.
