Bullet Train Review

I remember a month ago or maybe 2 when i was in the cinema to watch the new Thor movie, before the movie even started a trailer of Bullet train took place among others. I saw Brand Pit, a bullet train in Japan and many other actors i know and like. I said to myself though that i won't pay any money to watch that movie cause it may be a failure, i will just wait until i can download it in good analysis.

Yesterday i may have downloaded it in 1080p or Blue Ray after so many days of waiting. Truth be told it was quite an entertaining movie to watch and i suggest anyone to watch it but let's get into more detail without any major spoilers.

Plot

So the plot revolves around a bullet train in Japan where a couple of assassins get into everyone having their own agenda. The protagonist is called Lady Bug and is portrayed by Brand Pit. Ladybug follows the instructions of his handler and gets onboard the train. His mission is to retrieve a briefcase and get out. Ladybug seems like a guy that even though he is an assassin doesn't like that much to kill, he prefers talking when needed.

On the same train, there are 2 more assassins, Lemon (Brian Tyree Henry) and Tangerine (Aaron Taylor- Johnson) who have a mission to bring the son of the most dangerous mafia leader called White Death back to him in safety as well as the briefcase. So as you can see the briefcase is quite important.

On the same train Kimura (Andrew Koji) gets in seeking revenge that his son is in the hospital. In the first minute, he gets into a situation where he has to follow the orders of Prince (Joey King). They are also after the briefcase.

So the plot revolves around all these completely different characters, their motives of doing what they do and their plans on how they will get the briefcase and complete their mission without dying. At the same time, we get to see slowly but steadily what's going on and unravel the mystery behind the bullet train.

What I Liked and What I Didn't

The movie was well-structured and there was not a single time that i was bored. It was packed with either action or entertaining dialogues all along. There are many well-known actors that all have their screen time and all have different characters to portray. The fight scenes are quite good, brutal and funny at the same time and the acting is also on par with the fight scenes.

It was nice to see many of these actors like Brand Pit for example play a different role than what he used to do. He wasn't the too serious guy or the one with all the women around him. He had a completely different role, he was like a hippy assassin of some sort that also could get his ass kicked in fights, not that unbeatable 007-like special agent.

I don't have something that i did not like to be honest. I would like to see more assassins and a second movie but nothing more. Sure it isn't a movie that will have you making deep thoughts about your existence or something, it's simply a fun and entertaining movie to have a good time. Maybe as a negative, i would say that i would like to see Kimura having more action scenes as i know the actor is quite a beast!

I just watched, is really entertaining, but a little bit messy, the characters are great and (for me) almost all the Jokes landed.
