We're on Prime Video, for a change.
While watching the trailer, we spotted Dakota Fanning, so we wanted to give this American film a try. It's 1 hour and 42 minutes long and classified as horror, although it was still okay.
The film is adapted from the book of the same name, written by A.M. Shine.

En regardant la bande-annonce, nous avons repéré Dakota Fanning, alors nous avons voulu essayer ce film américain, d'une durée d'1h42, à classer dans la catégorie horreur, même si ça allait encore.
Le film est adapté du livre éponyme, écrit par A.M.Shine.

Synopsis :

Mina (Dakota Fanning) works in a pet shop in Ireland. Her boss asks her to take a rare type of parrot, a golden conure, several kilometres away, which should take her a whole day.
She leaves the next morning and, while driving through the forest, her car breaks down for no apparent reason. Of course, there is no mobile phone reception, so she cannot call for help.

She takes the cage with the parrot, which she names Darwin, and enters the forest, hoping to find someone or at least some shelter, because the weather is quite chilly.

Mina (Dakota Fanning) travaille dans une animalerie, en Irlande. Son patron lui demande d'aller déposer un genre de perroquet, une conure dorée, assez rare, à plusieurs kilomètres de là, ce qui devrait lui prendre toute une journée.
Elle part le lendemain matin et, en traversant la forêt, sa voiture tombe en panne sans raison apparente. Evidemment, il n'y a pas de réseau, impossible donc d'appeler du secours.

Elle sort la cage avec le perroquet, qu'elle appellera Darwin, et pénètre la forêt, espérant y trouver quelqu'un ou, au moins, un abri, parce que le temps est assez frais.

As she continues walking or going round in circles, evening falls. Mina does not feel safe; she senses a presence, and the parrot also shows signs of anxiety, even fear.

Birds suddenly fly away. She thinks she has seen a woman and follows her. The woman invites her in a certain direction... towards a door. Is she dreaming or is this reality?

Elle verra des panneaux avec des n° et une note indiquant qu'au-delà de ce point, il n'y a plus de retour possible.

A force d'avancer ou de tourner en rond, le soir arrive. Mina ne se sent pas en sécurité, elle ressent une présence et le perroquet aussi manifeste une inquiétude, voire de la peur.

Des oiseaux s'envolent brusquement. Elle pense avoir aperçu une dame, elle la suit. Celle-ci l'invite dans une direction .. vers une porte. Est-elle en train de rêver ou est-ce la réalité ?

My opinion and useful information /Mon avis et petites infos :

Horror films aren't really my thing.
But I like watching Dakota Fanning act; I think she's a good actress.

I didn't like this film, but I can't say that it was badly acted or poorly directed.

Alongside Dakota Fanning, the cast included:

• Oliver Finnegan: Daniel
• Alistair Brammer: John, Ciara's husband
• John Lynch: Professor Kilmartin

Les films d'horreur, ce n'est pas mon truc.
Mais j'aime bien voir jouer Dakota Fanning, je trouve qu'elle est bonne actrice.

Je n'ai pas aimé ce film, mais je ne peux pas dire qu'il soit mal joué ou mal conduit pour autant.

Au casting, aux côtés de Dakota Fanning, il y avait :

For once we watched something on Prime, we were disappointed.

We tried our luck again on Prime with the Russian film Project Gemini (2022), but we didn't like that either. Basically, experts hope to have found a new planet for Earthlings and board a shuttle to explore this place and its surroundings, except that... they don't end up where they planned to go, and a few technical issues prevent them from locating themselves. What's more, something alive is travelling with them.

Pour une fois que nous passons sur Prime, nous avons été déçus.

Nous avons retenté notre chance sur Prime Video avec le film russe Project Gemini (2022), mais nous n'avons pas aimé non plus. En gros, des experts espèrent avoir trouvé une nouvelle planète pour les Terriens et embarquent dans une navette pour explorer cet endroit et ses environs, sauf que .. ils ne se retrouveront pas à l'endroit prévu et quelques soucis techniques les empêchent de se situer. De plus, quelque chose de vivant les accompagne.

Avez-vous, de votre côté, vu des films/séries sur Prime Video qui vous ont plus ?
