This weekend was a bit busy at home; however, Sunday afternoon at Mathias' request we dedicated it to megalodons, and we watched a shark documentary and a couple of movies with the megalodon as the main character, being Megalodon 2, The Great Abyss, the one I'm going to talk about first; having said that, I must point out that, when I was a child I hated the Jaws saga, probably because of the amount of times it was shown in the only TV channel I watched at home, and when I grew up I didn't like it, in fact, I watched the first Megalodon installment in parts, because I didn't have the disposition to watch it in its entirety, However, after listening to so many people talking about how much they were looking forward to this sequel, I told myself that I had to give it a chance, and if Jason Statham is there, something good must come out, at least a good fight will give us the movie, there is no doubt about that.
We find ourselves with a new installment of Megalodon, Megalodon 2, The Great Abyss, based on the written novel, The Pit, and from the hand of Warner Bros we get this second installment that premiered a little over a month ago, with some of the actors from the first part and new ones, as protagonists we have Jonas Taylor (Jason Statham), Jiuming Zhang(Wu Jing), Meiying Zhang (Shuya Sophia Cai), Jiumingn is Meiying's uncle and who has joined his technology company with that of his late father, to create the Mana One research base, which is in charge of investigating the Mariana Trench, where there is a layer they call the trench, which divides the depth of the sea with a territory unexplored (according to them) and where they begin to explore, in addition to this, they have kept Haiqi, a Megalodon that they found as a baby and that they have been "training", but that escapes without them knowing, and they find it on their first trip to the trench, where also (to complicate things) Meiying stows away on one of the ships, specifically where Taylor is going.

The truth is that giving a rating to this movie creates mixed feelings in me hahaha, because as I already said, I am not a fan of these movies, however, this one in particular kept me entertained until the end, so for that reason I will give it an 8/ 10.

Nos encontramos con una nueva entrega de Megalodón, Megalodón 2, El Gran Abismo, basada en la novela escrita, La Fosa, y de la mano de Warner Bros nos llega esta segunda entrega que estreno hace poco más de un mes, con algunos de los actores de la primera parte y otros nuevos, como protagonistas tenemos a Jonas Taylor (Jason Statham), Jiuming Zhang(Wu Jing), Meiying Zhang (Shuya Sophia Cai), Jiumingn es el tío de Meiying y que ha unido su empresa de tecnología con la de su difunto padre, para crear la base de investigación Mana One, que se encargan de investigar la Fosa de Las Marianas, en donde se encuentra una capa que llaman trinchera, que divide la profundidad del mar con un territorio no explorado (según ellos) y en donde ellos comienzan a explorar, aunado a esto, se han quedado con Haiqi una Megalodón que encontraron bebe y que han estado "entrenando", pero que escapa sin ellos saber, y la encuentran en su primer viaje a la trinchera, en donde además (para complicar las cosas) Meiying se mete como polizón en una de las naves, específicamente donde va Taylor.
Ya en lo profundo de la fosa, luego de pasar la trinchera, se dan cuenta de que Haiqi está con otros dos megalodondes más, por lo que deducen que esta se encuentra en celo, y por ello su comportamiento extraño, ya que ellos pensaban que los megalodones siempre andaban solos, nunca en manada, en lo profundo, descubren un nuevo mundo y encuentran además una base de la cual desconocían, en donde hay piratas, por darle un nombre, que están extrayendo minerales que son carísimos, y que luego descubren que es una operación de la socia de Jiuming, en este punto la lucha principal se centra en, llegar a la base, hacer que el oxígeno que poseen en los trajes de ultima generación que tienen les alcancen para llegar y no ser comidos por los megalodones, o algún animal extraño se los devore.
Se encuentran además de los megalodones, con una especie de lagartos anfibios que logramos ver al inicio de la película, y que están en el planeta desde hace más de 65 millones de años, pero que se mantienen en ese mundo submarino sin ser molestados ni molestar a nadie, solamente huyendo de los megalodones, que son el terror del océano, y es que estos gigantes prehistóricos son realmente atemorizantes, capaces de acabar con un tiranosaurio de una mordida, podrán imaginar que para ellos, una persona, es el equivalente a un diminuto crill.
Esta es catalogada como una película de acción y ciencia ficción, y vaya que encontramos de estas dos cosas de cabo a rabo, desde peleas entre personas, hasta peleas asombrosas con los megalodones y con los Snappers (lagartos anfibios), escenas realmente inverosímiles, la verdad es que las películas de acción de los últimos tiempos han ido por esta línea, megalodones comiendo cientos de humanos de una bocanada, como si de crill se tratara, Statham parando la feroz mandíbula de estos animales con tan solo un pie, un pulpo gigantesco acabando con un helicóptero, son apenas un ápice de las cosas que podrás encontrar en esta película.
Es entretenida, esto es algo que no puedo negar, pero como lo dije al principio no soy amante de este tipo de películas, sin embargo, considero que no es tan mala como la saga completa de Tiburón, me atraparon con el tema de la prehistoria, y con ver que Meiying no terminara muerta, nah, tampoco es para tanto, ame la animación por computadora que utilizaron para hacer el fondo de la fosa, ese mundo super oscuro en el que los peces utilizan su bioluminiscencia para ver que hay mas allá de sus narices, lo hicieron a mi parecer muy bien, ame esos trajes que utilizaron para moverse en el fondo de la fosa, y como explican con ningún tipo de lógica algunos términos básicos de biología marina, física, paleontología, pero venga, que es una película de ciencia ficción, donde un hombre fortachón es capaz de frenar a un Megalodón con un pie, creo que con eso ya podemos saber que cualquier cosa es posible, sin embargo, el entretenimiento está a la orden del día.
No podemos negar que esta es una de las mejores películas de tiburones, ok, megalodones, de los últimos tiempos, con una secuencia muy bien estructurada de la primera entrega, dejándonos con la pendiente de una nueva entrega, y en donde no solo nos muestran una chica en bikini, sino que tenemos un gran numero científicos haciendo lo mejor por mantener el mundo marino a salvo. La verdad es que darle una valoración a esta película me crea sentimientos encontrados jajaja, porque como ya lo dije no soy fanática de estas películas, sin embargo, esta en particular me mantuvo entretenida hasta el final, así que por ello le daré un 8/10.

Esta película en su primera entrega me causó gran emoción ya que las escenas fueron tan realistas que sufría cada vez que veía salir al Megalodon,excelente actuación de Jason statham por lo que esta segunda parte debería ser mejor por lo que cuentas, estoy pendiente de verla aún no he tenido la oportunidad, me encantó mucho que dejaran al mismo actor como protagonista. Si, es una película que fácilmente hace que te comas las uñas, eso me falto comentar, porque te mantiene a la expectativa, pues no sabes desde donde atacan estos animalitos. Espero puedas verla pronto, gracias por leerme.
Hola me encantó tu reseña, yo había tachado esta película ya que me deje llevar por los memes que vi,y que decían que es muy irreal parar un megalodon con un pie,además que tampoco me gustan este tipo de películas igual que a tí, Pero por tu reseña le daré otra oportunidad quizás la disfrute un poco jejeje saludos!
Creo que las ultimas películas de acción son así de irreales, la verdad es que el publico cada vez se ve atraído por este tipo de acciones en las películas, y al publico hay que darle lo que pide y les gusta, después de todo esto es lo que vende.

Hola amiga, la vi hace un mes aproximadamente, me gusto, todo estuvo muy bien, hasta me gusto que mostraran el desastre que la humanidad puede causar solo por ambición, causando daños y la muerte innecesaria de estos tiburones, pero al menos quedo la hembra viva y posiblemente embarazada 😉.
Nada mas de pensar una criatura de esta viva me da de todo, jajaja, pero en efecto, dentro de todas sus incoherencias, dejan un mensaje bastante vigente y es la cantidad de daño que es capaz de hacer el hombre por ambición.

Esta sin duda me gustó muchísimo más que la primera estuvo bastante divertida y el que incluyeran a otros animales aparte del megalodón fue un toque de gracia bastante interesante.
