The Flash , Multiverse again! - Review
Hello my dear cinephiles, I hope you're all very well here! Over here we have had a long weekend, and we have dedicated ourselves to watch some movies, some more interesting and criticized than others, but mostly very good. I must confess that I am a contemporary adult who loves to watch movies based on comic books, and I definitely love the DC and Marvel universes, especially because they are always in the constant search of surpassing each other. This weekend I took the opportunity to see a movie from each cinematic universe and I will start by telling you about the last one I saw, which was The Flash, starring Ezra Miller, who I must say, is for me one of the most versatile young actors we found in recent times in Hollywood, I love his performance in Fantastic Beasts and I had already loved his performance as Flash in previous appearances with Justice League.
I want to say, before getting into the subject, that although it is true that I love these cinematic universes, I come here without seeing other reviews of the film, so my review will be based on what I saw and what I think of it. The film obviously focuses on the protagonist Barry Allen, a young man who lost his parents at a very young age, 20 years have passed since his mother was murdered and his father blamed for said murder, which is why, I mean, he lost his parents. He has spent a large part of his life trying to prove his father's innocence and that is why seeing his last attempt to prove it frustrated, and by an involuntary mistake, he manages to go back in time giving a vestige to what his life was like before his mother was murdered, this gives him the great idea of traveling through time and changing events, a fact that he tells Batman (Ben Affleck ck), which rebuts him with the typical responses of what it means to change the facts and play with time (somehow I feel that I have already seen this type of scene in a movie from a certain cinematographic universe).
Iris West (Kierse Clemons) appears on the scene, Barry's platonic love, she is a journalist, and she had already approached him asking him questions about his father, and then she comes home apologizing, and in the middle of their conversation, she tells him that nothing can be done to change the past, he does not have the power to travel in time, and it is precisely this sentence, which begins what will be the development of the film, a trip back in time, where he decides to change the facts, just by placing a can of tomatoes, he will make his father not have to leave and in this way his mother does not die, which for him is the solution to all problems ends up causing an alternate timeline, and in his attempt to return to his time, he is expelled from the timeline and thrown into this alternate timeline where he is barely 18 years old, and has both his parents alive and happy.
Meeting his other self, and realizing how irritating he can be, is undoubtedly one of the funniest things in the movie, however, this is just the beginning of a big mess. Taking him Barry Allen of this timeline to get his powers makes the original Barry, lose his, a somewhat convoluted plot, but certainly part of the appeal of the film, as he has to deal with being a mortal, common and ordinary. Upon realizing the dates, he realizes that in addition to coinciding with the date on which he obtained his powers, the date of the invasion of Zod is approaching, so he decides he has to look for the members of the Justice League, when asking for those who make it up, he realizes that the only one who exists in that universe is Batman, so he decides to look for him, and ask for his help.
Upon arriving at Batman's house (Michael Keaton), they realize that it is abandoned, and upon running into the bat, he realizes that it is not the same one that has become his best friend, he asks for his help to find Superman, and finding that in this universe they still do not know Kal-EL, but Batman finds information that can lead them to him, meeting Kara Zor-El (I also seem to have seen this in another universe hahaha), now, in this universe there are many things that change, some superheroes are simply not there, they even mention the movie Journey to the Future. Undoubtedly Barry realizes that he needs to fix all the mess he made, and he has to recover his powers at all costs, for this Kara helps him, and after refusing to help them in their fight against Zod, she agrees to help them, immediately Batman offers his help and the battle begins.
So far I will tell you details of the film, we find action scenes, many special effects, the typical slowdowns of the Flash speed scenes, some really implausible scenes, very typical of these films, one of the most implausible we find at the beginning of the film, I must confess that I left a couple of tears, yes, the film has a very well manipulated emotional side, and for this part I must say that Ezra Miller knew how to convey that feeling in his performance.
The dark scenes (with low lighting, caves and dark spaces) to which we are accustomed to the DC cinematic universe were not made to wait, let's say that these are one of the things that in my opinion are emblematic of DC; the addition of Kara Zor-El opens a world of possibilities, after it was announced that Henry Cavil took off the Superman suit. The ending of this movie also undoubtedly gives us a range of possible new plots, which we will be able to see in a sequel to this movie that is apparently already being written.
Now with respect to the rating I give to this movie, I must give it an 8/10, I liked it a lot to be honest, I did not expect it, in fact it was not in my plans to see it, it was not a movie that excited me, but in the end I ended up watching it twice (those who have children know what this means), which gave me a better perspective of things, I mean, I cried twice with this movie hahaha, I invite you to see it if you have the chance, if like me, you love movies based on comics, you will surely like this one, it is a good investment of time.

¡Hola mis queridos cinéfilos, espero estén muy bien todos por aquí! Por acá hemos tenido un fin de semana largo, y nos hemos dedicado a ver algunas películas, unas más interesantes y criticables que otras, en definitiva, pero en su gran mayoría muy buena. Les he de confesar que soy un adulto contemporáneo que ama ver las películas basadas en comics, y definitivamente los universos de DC y Marvel me encantan, sobre todo porque siempre están en la constante búsqueda de superarse unas a otras. Este fin de semana aproveché para ver una película de cada universo cinematográfico y comenzaré hablándoles de la última que vi, que fue The Flash, protagonizada por Ezra Miller, que debo decir, es para mí uno de los actores jóvenes más versátiles que encontramos en los últimos tiempos en Hollywood, amo su interpretación en Animales Fantásticos y ya me había encantado su interpretación como Flash en las anteriores apariciones con La Liga de la Justicia.
Quiero decir, antes de entrar de lleno en materia, que, si bien es cierto que amo estos universos cinematográficos, vengo aquí sin ver otras críticas de la película, por lo que mi crítica se basara en lo que vi y lo que pienso de ella. La película se centra obviamente en el protagonista Barry Allen, un joven que perdió a sus padres a muy corta edad, 20 años han pasado de que su madre fue asesinada y su padre culpado por dicho asesinato, es por ello que, digo, perdió a sus padres. Ha pasado gran parte de su vida tratando de demostrar la inocencia de su padre y es por ello que viendo frustrado su último intento de demostrarla, y por un error involuntario, logra regresar en el tiempo dando un vestigio a lo que fuera su vida antes de que su madre fuera asesinada, esto le da la gran idea de viajar en el tiempo y cambiar los acontecimientos, hecho que le comenta a Batman (Ben Affleck), el cual le refuta con las típicas respuestas de lo que implica cambiar los hechos y jugar con el tiempo (de alguna manera siento que ya he visto este tipo de escenas en alguna película de cierto universo cinematográfico)
Aparece en escena Iris West (Kierse Clemons), amor platónico de Barry, esta es periodista, y ya lo había abordado haciéndole preguntas sobre su padre, y luego llega a su casa pidiendo disculpas, y en medio de su conversación, le plantea que no se puede hacer nada para cambiar el pasado, él no tiene el poder de viajar en el tiempo, y es justo esta frase, la que da inicio a lo que será el desarrollo de la película, un viaje hacia atrás en el tiempo, en donde el decide cambiar los hechos, con tan solo colocar una lata de tomates, hará que su padre no tenga que salir y de esta manera su madre no muere, lo que para él es la solución a todos los problemas termina originando una línea temporal alterna, y en su intento de regresar a su época, es expulsado de la línea de tiempo y echado a esta alterna en donde el apenas tiene 18 años, y cuenta con sus dos padres con vida y felices.
Encontrarse con su otro yo, y darse cuenta de lo irritante que puede llegar a ser, es sin duda una de las cosas más graciosas de la película, sin embargo, esto es apenas el inicio de un gran lio. Llevar a él Barry Allen de esta línea de tiempo a que obtenga sus poderes hace que el Barry original, pierda los de él, una trama un tanto enredada, pero que sin duda forma parte del atractivo de la película, pues le toca lidiar con ser un mortal, común y corriente. Al darse cuenta de las fechas, se percata, que además de coincidir con la fecha en la que obtuvo sus poderes, se acerca la fecha de la invasión de Zod, por lo que decide que tiene que buscar a los integrantes de La Liga de La Justicia, al preguntar por los que la conforman, se da cuenta de que el único que existe en ese universo es Batman, por lo que decide buscarlo, y pedirle ayuda.
Al llegar a la casa de Batman (Michael Keaton), se dan cuenta de que la misma está abandonada, y al toparse con el murciélago se da cuenta de que no es el mismo que se ha convertido en su mejor amigo, le pide ayuda para encontrar a Superman, y encontrándose con que en este universo aún no conocen a Kal-EL, pero Batman encuentra una información que los puede llevar a él, encontrándose a Kara Zor-El (Esto también me parece haberlo visto en otro universo jajaja), ahora bien, en este universo son muchas las cosas que cambian, algunos superhéroes simplemente no están, incluso hacen una mención de la película Viaje al Futuro. Sin duda alguna Barry se da cuenta de que necesita arreglar todo el lío que armo, y tiene que, recuperar sus poderes a toda costa, para ello Kara le ayuda, y luego de haberse negado a ayudarles en su lucha contra Zod, esta accede a ayudarles, acto seguido Batman les ofrece su ayuda y comienza la batalla.
Hasta aquí les contare detalles de la película, nos encontramos escenas de acción, muchos efectos especiales, las típicas ralentizaciones de las escenas de velocidad de Flash, algunas escenas realmente inverosímiles, muy típicas de estas películas, una de las más inverosímiles la encontramos al inicio de la película, debo confesar que se me fueron un par de lágrimas, si, la película tiene un lado emotivo muy bien manipulado, y por esta parte debo decir que Ezra Miller supo transmitir ese sentimiento en su actuación.
Las escenas oscuras (con baja iluminación, cuevas y espacios oscuros) a las que nos tiene acostumbrado el universo cinematográfico DC no se hicieron esperar, digamos que estas son una de las cosas que a mi parecer son emblemáticas de DC; la adición de Kara Zor-El abre un mundo de posibilidades, luego de que se anunciara que Henry Cavil se quitara el traje de Superman. El final de esta película sin duda también nos da un abanico de posibles nuevas tramas, que podremos ver en una secuela de esta película que al parecer ya se está escribiendo.
Ahora bien con respecto a la calificación que le doy a esta peli, debo darle un 8/10, me agrado mucho para ser sincera, no me lo esperaba, de hecho no estaba en mis planes verla, no era una película que me emocionara, pero al final la termine viendo dos veces (los que tienen hijos saben lo que esto significa), lo cual me dio una mejor perspectiva de las cosas, es decir, llore dos veces con esta película jajaja, los invito a verla si tienen oportunidad, si como yo, aman las películas basadas en comics, esta seguramente les gustara, es una buena inversión de tiempo.

Flash como personaje tiene una historia dura y de sacrificio como casi todos los héroes de DC cómics y me gustó que desde su aparición en Justice Legue, esta versión de Barry Allen tenga el necesario peso emocional que es lo que motiva a convertirse en un gran héroe; es como la frase que me dice Bruce Wayne (Affleck) "Nuestras cicatrices nos convierte en quienes somos", pero el peso de la perdida es tan fuerte y más para este Barry que es como un niño grande que no puede superar la perdida de su madre y la futura perdida de su padre ante el nuevo juicio.
Le recomiendo ver el film animado "Flashpoint", es una historia más apegada al comic, pero con el mismo peso emocional.
Opino igual que tu, Ezra Miller, sabe transmitir ese peso emocional que carga Barry, es lo que me gusta, no todos los actores son capaces de hacer sentir eso al publico. Tendré en cuenta tu sugerencia, para cuando el tiempo me lo permita, probablemente es una serie que termine viendo con mi chamo, lo cual es una buena manera de pasar tiempo juntos.
Este es un gran personaje, quizás no con la importancia que se merece en el cine actualmente, esta película también le he otorgado una calificación alta porque me gustó, el filme tiene tiempo para todo, comedia y esas emociones fuertes sobre la familia y la perdida, eso le otorga un buen condimento.
