CONTEST: Bruce Willis & Meg Ryan (Who is your favorite actor and actress?)

At the time of the transition from black and white television screens to colour television screens and for the first time, I met a series broadcast on state television. In those days, private television channels were not allowed to be established and broadcast in my country. We did not yet have the option of multiple channels! There were only a few state-owned channels.

Since there were not many options, I watched almost everything that was broadcast, but this did not prevent me from being selective. The weekly series "Moonlighting" soon became the centre of my attention and I was looking forward to the next week.

In the series, which tells the story of two detectives who are constantly in conflict with each other, there was an actor with a different humour and smile. The character of David Addison was a man with unkempt hair, who was careless, who liked to make things up, who wore unironed clothes and had an irregular life. For me, the fact that he had a provocative and annoying smile was his biggest plus.

My first encounter with Bruce Willis, who gave life to the character of David Addison, was in the series I mentioned in the way I mentioned. The Moonlighting series was like a warm-up tour for me to like Bruce Willis.

With the end of the 1980s and the beginning of the 1990s, colour television became more widespread and private television channels started to broadcast one after another. There were now more choices and alternatives when it came to cinema and TV series.

My next encounter with the man with the provocative and annoying smile (Bruce Willis) was in the film "Die Hard". This time, unlike in the series, he was only struggling with more difficulties. It was a great pleasure to watch Bruce Willis in a film with high struggle and action power. The film Die Hard was identified with Bruce Willis and spawned new sequels after the film. Bruce Willis' performance alone was enough for me to watch the whole series.

There are many films belonging to Bruce Willis, but the memorable ones for me are the Moonlighting series and the Die Hard series. His unique stance and smile are the first features that come to my mind every time I hear the name Bruce Willis.

For the "Who is your favourite actor and actress?" contest organised by @moviesonhive in the Movies & TV Shows community, I choose Bruce Willis as my favourite actor.

Honestly, I have to say that I had a hard time choosing the actor because there are many great actors and it was not easy to eliminate Nicolas Cage and Denzel Washington and decide on Bruce Willis.

Now, let's talk about my choice of actress, I don't think I will have any difficulty in choosing an actress compared to choosing an actor. In this regard, Meg Ryan is a platonic lover model for me. Although she doesn't know it herself, I love her sympathetic and unique haircut in the films I watch.

source

You may find someone sympathetic, funny, charming, fantastic or romantic. For me, Meg Ryan is a woman of love who has elements that complement whatever is included in the opposite sex. I love the way she integrates with the characters she portrayed in the films In The Cut and French Kiss and the way her romantic love woman aspect stands out. But the main film that made me fall in love with her is the character of Doctor Maggie Rice in City of Angels.

source

I have to admit that the presence of Nicolas Cage in the film could not change the fact that I watched the film for Meg Ryan. City of Angels is the film where I liked Meg Ryan's hairstyle the most and gave her the title of love woman.

In the film City of Angels, it was actually me, not Nicolas Cage, who gave life to the character of Seth, the angel who chose to be deadly for Meg Ryan! Okay, I'm kidding because this is too big a dream to be true!

But even if it is fiction, the fact that an immortal angel gives up all his powers for the woman he falls in love with is not a simple choice, it is the love aspect of the woman that makes him make that choice. Meg Ryan, for me, is the explorer of the path that starts visually in the mind and leads to the heart.

Back in those days when we watched those movies on a CD Player for we don't own internet before, and watching those kinds of films with my friends we are all focus especially when the action punch in viewed haha.

I watched a lot of films with a CD Player. For a while I collected CDs and then DVDs, but with the Internet, all of them became garbage.

Meg and Bruce are iconic actors of the 90's, their films are unforgettable.
How can we not remember Ryan's beautiful eyes and sweetness and his natural simplicity in acting.
While Willis will always be the hero savior of the world, both in The Fifth Element and Armageddon. With his arrogant style hahaha.

Definitely great selection.

Vanity suits Buruce.
You're right, when it comes to cinema, I'm too influenced by the 90s.

Nicolas Cage is a great actor!

avatar

Exactly, and Nicolas Cage is a great actor.

One of my fave movies of him is "Face Off"

avatar

Yeah, that film features another great actor, John Travolta. It's very difficult to choose when you take the films one by one.

"Moonlighting" was such a great TV series, very different from everything else at the time, at least as I remember those times. The dialogues were smart and charming. The humor was well implemented in the story and the lightweight, stylized noir atmosphere. Great stuff. I saw it again five or six years ago on some TV channel. It was a great TV experience again. Very, very charming. 😃Cool to encounter the TV show in the post on HIVE in 2022.

Thank you, it was a good explanation. It was a series that I loved very much and I was eagerly waiting for the day it would play.
