The rebellion of words: chronicle of a young German (Eng-Esp)

Warm greetings to everyone in the community and platform in general. I hope you are enjoying the holidays with your loved ones. This is my last post of the year, and what better way to end it than by telling you about a great movie I saw recently that really surprised me. It's called Truth & Treason, released in October this year, directed by filmmaker Matt Whitaker, who, together with Ethan Vincent, was responsible for the production's screenplay. An American film, a drama and thriller based on a true story, about the Nazi persecution of the Jews and how some young people carried out heroic actions that went down in history.

This is not the first film I have seen in this genre, as there have been several productions in which Jews fight to escape the clutches of the Nazis in World War II, because Hitler believed that they were responsible for Germany's defeat in World War II. He also considered them to be “inferior beings.” He was a character who left dark times in the world. But the most surprising thing of all is that the struggle was not only on the part of the Jews, but also on the part of Germans, as in the case of Helmuth Hübener, a young man of only 16, who saw one of his best friends tortured and arrested just for being Jewish, so the boy decided to fight against tyranny. A film with a rather dark story, which is quite surprising and has a rather sad ending, but which left us with a great message.

Hübener was part of a group of young people known as the Hitler Youth. But after seeing banned broadcasts and witnessing the Nazis' actions against the Jews, he and his friends Karl and Rudi embarked on a fight for the truth against the propaganda spread by the German tyranny of the time. The film focuses on the courage of young people who fight for the truth, as Helmuth Hübener wrote articles denouncing the lies, for which they were persecuted, tortured, and prosecuted. The young man had to pay a high price for his actions, but in the end, it did not prevent him from continuing with his ideals, showing the German population what was really happening, what they were doing to the Jews, as many of the actions were not known to the people.

Último post del año y que mejor hablarles de una gran película que me vi recientemente y que me sorprendió bastante. La misma lleva por nombre Truth & Treason, estrena en octubre de este año, dirigida por el cineasta Matt Whitaker, quien junto Ethan Vincent, fueron los encargados del guion de la producción. Una película estadounidense, un drama y Thriller basado en una historia real, sobre la persecución nazi a los judíos y como unos jóvenes realizaron acciones heroicas que quedaron para la historia.

Esta no es la primera película que he visto del género, pues han sacado varias producciones donde los judíos luchan por escapar de las garras de los Nazis en la Segunda Guerra Mundial, pues Hitler creía que ellos fueron los culpables de que Alemania perdiera la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Además de considerarlos como “seres inferiores”. Un personaje que dejó épocas oscuras en el mundo. Pero lo más sorprendente de todo, es que no solo la lucha era por parte de los Judíos, sino que también de alemanes, tal como es el caso de Helmuth Hübener, un joven de a penas 16 años, quien vio como uno de sus mejores amigos fue torturado y detenido, solo por ser Judío, por lo que el chico decidió luchar contra la tiranía. Una película con una historia bastante oscura, que sorprende bastante y con un desenlace bastante triste, pero que nos dejó un gran mensaje.

Hübener era parte de los jóvenes seguidos que eran conocidos como Juventudes Hitlerianas. Pero tras ver transmisiones prohibidas y ver las acciones realizadas por los Nazis en contra de los Judíos. Junto a sus amigos Karl y Rudi, emprenden una lucha por la verdad frente a la propaganda realizada por la tiranía alemana de ese entonces. La película se centra en la valentía de los jóvenes, quienes luchar por la verdad, pues Helmuth Hübener realizó escritos para denunciar las mentiras, por lo que estos fueron perseguidos, torturados y enjuiciados. El joven tuvo que pagar un alto precio por sus acciones, pero al final no le impidió seguir con sus ideales, mostrarle a la población alemana que era lo que realmente estaba pasando, lo que le estaban haciendo a los Judíos, pues mucha de las acciones no eran conocidas por las personas.

This is a film with a rather harsh story, but it shows us the reality of what the Nazis did, the persecution of those who did not follow their beliefs and ideals. The young man showed us that the truth is the most important thing, even risking his own life so that people would know the truth about everything. Simply with words, no matter how small, they can resonate strongly when faced with evil. Helmuth Hübener, a brave young man, showed us that the most valuable thing of all is to be aware of the truth, to always fight for it regardless of the final consequences. The work on this production was really quite good, with a very well-executed narrative and a script that lived up to it, quite entertaining dialogues, where in the story we went through different facets, even with a touch of mystery as to what might happen to our characters.

A well-executed story, with a sad ending but a perfect conclusion to convey a message. What I like most of all is that it is a story based on real events, which undoubtedly means that the message can reach many more people. I have to say that I like these films, and despite having seen several, I can say that this one is among my top three, I would even say that it is in first or second place. Matt Whitaker did a wonderful job, with a very well-executed final result, magnificent scenes, and the tension that is essential in a thriller. Truth and Betrayal is a film that surprises us in a good way, giving us something we didn't expect, with a first half presented as a thriller and a second half that wanted to show us something more, but maintained the level and even raised it, achieving a great impact.

Esta es una película con una historia bastante dura, pero que nos muestra lo que fue la realidad de lo que realizaron los Nazis, la casería en contra de aquellos que no seguían sus creencias, sus ideales. El joven nos mostró que la verdad es lo más importante, incluso arriesgando su propia vida para que las personas supieron la verdad de todo, simplemente con palabras, por más pequeñas que sean, pueden resonar con fuerza cuando se enfrentan al mal. Helmuth Hübener un joven valiente, que nos demostró que lo más valioso de todo es estar enterado de la verdad, siempre luchar por ella sin importar las consecuencias finales. Realmente el trabajo con esta producción fue bastante buena, con un argumento narrativo muy bien ejecutado y con un guion que esto a la altura, diálogos bastante entretenidos, donde en la historia pasábamos por diferentes facetas, incluso con un toque de misterio por lo que podría ocurrir con nuestros personajes.

Una historia bien ejecutada, con un final triste pero un cierre perfecto para dar un mensaje. Lo que más me gusta de todo es que una historia basada en hechos reales, lo que sin lugar a dudas, el mensaje puede llegar a muchas más personas. Dedo decir que me gustan estas películas, a pesar de haber vista varias, puede decir que está entre mi top tres, incluso podría decir que está en el primer o segundo lugar. Matt Whitaker realizó un maravilloso trabajo, un resultado final muy bien logrado, con escenas magníficas y una tensión que en un thriller no puede faltar. Verdad y Traición es una película que sorprende para bien, nos da algo que no esperábamos, con una primera mitad mostrada con un thriller y la segunda se nos quiso presentar algo más, pero mantuvo el nivel e incluso podría decir que lo subió, logrando un gran impacto.

Bianca Cline was in charge of photography, doing an impressive job of conveying an atmosphere of tension, pressure, and fear. What I liked most of all were the close-up shots that intensify the feeling of constant surveillance and danger. The film showed locations in Germany at the time, and the costumes used were appropriate, as for this type of film, prior research must be done to adapt the story as best as possible and achieve an ideal final result for what you want to convey, which is what actually ended up happening. The cast was not far behind, with Ewan Horrocks playing Helmuth Hübener, doing an impeccable job with a magnificent performance. The cast of the film lived up to the story.

The soundtrack is as good as the visuals in the film, with compositions that take us on a journey through different moments in history, proving that the music achieved its purpose. Truth and Betrayal is a great film, one of the best I've seen in the genre in recent years, a magnificent end to 2025. The story may be harsh, especially when it comes to real events, but the most important thing is that this young man showed us that the truth is the most significant thing of all. A film with an excellent story, cinematography, and soundtrack that live up to the story being told. I recommend this film from start to finish, a plot that is not to be missed.

Bianca Cline fue la encargada de la fotografía, logrando un trabajo impresionante, logrando transmitir una atmósfera de tensión, la presión y el miedo. Lo que más me gustó de todo fue las tomas cerradas que intensifican la sensación de vigilancia y peligro constante. En la película se mostraron lugares de Alemania de la época, además que el vestuario usado fue el acorde, pues para este tipo de películas se deben hacer un trabajo de investigación previo para adaptar lo mejor posible la historia, y lograr un resultado final ideal para lo que se quiere transmitir y fue lo que realmente se terminó dando. El cast no se quedó atrás, con un Ewan Horrocks quien interpretó a Helmuth Hübener, realizando un trabajo impecable, con una actuación magnífica. El reparto de la película estuvo a la altura de la historia.

La banda sonora es tan buena como lo visual de la película, con composiciones que nos hacen viajar en los diferentes momentos de la historia, lo que se puede decir que la música logro su cometido. Verdad y traición es una gran película, una de las mejores que he visto del género en los últimos años, un cierre de este 2025 magnífico. Puede que la historia sea dura y más cuando se trata de hechos reales, pero lo más importante de todo es que este joven nos mostró que la verdad es lo más significativo de todo. Una película con una excelente historia, una fotografía y banda sonora a la altura de la historia mostrada. Esta película la recomiendo, de principio a fin, una trama que no tiene desperdicio.
