¡Bienvenidos mis panas amantes de las películas turbias y oscuras! ¿Como están? espero de corazón que muy bien, porque hoy, vamos a hablar de un clásico del cine coreano, Oldboy, estrenada en el 2003 y considerada por no pocos como una verdadera obra de culto y de admiración, entre los cuales, me puedo incluir, adelantadamente les digo, es una película que le recomendaría a cualquier que busque una historia oscura, centrada en la venganza, con giros argumentales que te dejan con la boca abierta, y con un final algo ambiguo pero que la mesa servida para el debate entre sus fanáticos, ¡Comencemos a ver porque Oldboy es una obra tan aclamada!

La película comienza con un hombre sosteniendo a otro sobre los bordes de un edificio, vista sin contexto, parece ser que este esta a punto de soltarlo o arrojarlo desde lo alto del mismo, sin embargo, cuando se le pregunta su nombre saltaremos al pasado, en el que veremos que el nombre del misterioso hombre es Oh Dae-su, y por aquel entonces era un hombre sumergido en la bebida y la fiesta, con un esposa, una hija y un buen amigo que lo acompañaba aquella noche, no obstante, mientras volvía de otra noche de juerga, este, desaparece misteriosamente, para encontrarse en una habitación parecida al cuarto de cualquier hotel, pero con la puerta de salida completamente sellada y blindada e incapaz de abrirse desde dentro, Oh Dae-su, sería misteriosamente liberado 15 años más tarde, en la azotea de un edificio cualquiera.

La razón de su liberación y encierro durante 15 años son un completo misterio para el protagonista, por lo que hace su misión el saber quien fue el que ha orquestado este siniestro plan y con que fin, o si es que hay algún motivo para el mismo, determinado como nunca, sale a las calles a reunir información y a su vez, para confirmar si tanta sed de venganza y entrenamiento mientras estaba confinado le pudo servir de algo para defenderse, cosa que de hecho confirmaremos en el momento en que se cruce a una pandilla que merodeaba por ahí.

Las cosas se podrán mucho más interesantes en el momento en el que el antiguo secuestrador del protagonista le hace llegar un teléfono y una cartera con dinero a Oh Dae-su, este decide ir a comer a un restaurante cercano pero en breve recibe una llamada de quien se acredita su secuestro, Oh Dae-su se queda en Shock por momentos, pero intenta entre gritos identificar al misterioso personaje que en un tono que varia entre la soberbia y la burla, le pide que guarde cierta frase consigo y que se pregunte mejor el porque de las cosas en vez de la identidad de aquel que lo secuestro cerrando la llamada y dejándonos a un Oh Dae-su desconsolado, a punto de ahogarse con un pulpo vivo mientras comía, pero que es salvado por la chica del restaurante, que mostró cierto interés tanto en la conversación como en el propio Oh Dae-su, sirviéndonos así, el misterio, la intriga y la creciente sed de venganza.

El cine es un medio que me encanta y del que siempre hay potencial para sacar todo tipo de historias, desde las más infantiles y cómicas, hasta la más oscuras y trágicas, Oldboy es para mi, un argumento que tiene muy claro hacia donde se dirige y que es consciente de que su protagonista no es un héroe perfecto ni que esta exento de pecado, es una historia turbia que termina volviéndose todavía más torcida a medida que se va descubriendo el Modus Operandi de su secuestrador y de la inmensa cantidad de poder e influencia que tiene el mismo sobre la vida de Oh Dae-Su.
Cinema is a medium that I love and from which there is always potential to bring out all kinds of stories, from the most childish and comical, to the darkest and tragic, Oldboy is for me, a plot that is very clear where it is heading and is aware that its protagonist is not a perfect hero or that it is exempt from sin, It is a murky story that ends up becoming even more twisted as we discover the M.O. of his kidnapper and the immense amount of power and influence he has over Oh Dae-Su's life.

Para mi la frase Mi vida es solo una prisión más grande calza perfecto con como se siente la película desde el momento en que Oh Dae-su sale de su confinamiento, guiado siempre por su sed de respuestas y de venganza, pero nunca en completo control o sin poder tomar desprevenido a aquel que lo capturo, quien vigila atentamente sus pasos y que en casi todo momento, se mostrara en absoluta confianza, por no decir prepotencia ante Oh-Dae-Su, Algo que me encanto es como cada conclusión esta completamente justificada, haciendo que la historia sea verosímil, por muy locas que sean las escenas de pelea por momentos.

To me, the phrase My life is just a bigger prison fits perfectly with how the movie feels from the moment Oh Dae-su is released from his confinement, always guided by his thirst for answers and revenge, but never in complete control or able to take the one who captured him by surprise, who watches his every step and who in almost every moment, will show absolute confidence, if not arrogance, towards Oh-Dae-Su. Something I loved is how every conclusion is completely justified, making the story believable, however crazy the fight scenes might be at times.

Decir que Oldboy me gusto seria quedarse corto la verdad, esta película supo superar mis expectativas, aun cuando tenia entendido de que era un filme de bastante aceptación en general, nunca me espere el final hasta que fue demasiado tarde y aunque ya se sabia que algo sucedería o que alguna sorpresa tenia que guardar el final para justificar los hechos, creo que nadie que la haya visto por primera vez se lo veía venir, y es que hay que ser demasiado retorcido para pensarlo en un principio, por si quedan dudas se las recomiendo, sobretodo si están en búsqueda de una historia que sea turbia pero que tenga la capacidad de entregarte algo más que solo entretenimiento del que te olvidaras despues, Aprobado por Franzz mis panas, no se la pierdan.

To say that I liked Oldboy would be an understatement, this film exceeded my expectations, even though I had understood that it was a film of great acceptance in general, I never expected the end until it was too late and although I knew that something would happen or some surprise I had to save the end to justify the facts, I don't think anyone who has seen it for the first time saw it coming, and you have to be too twisted to think about it at first, in case there are any doubts I recommend it, especially if you are looking for a story that is murky but has the ability to give you something more than just entertainment that you will forget about later, Approved by Franzz my friends, don't miss it.

Una pelicula sumamente enferma, pero con una gran enseñansa detras, y claro una trama con giros unicos que vuelan la cabeza :D

Creo que nunca me voy a olvidar de este giro argumental en mi vida jajaja, con sus rarezas pero que sabe entretenerte desde que empieza hasta que se acaba.

Oldboy ya es un clásico, sé que hay una versión hollywood, pero yo solo he visto la original y es una maravilla. Turbia como nada y eso fue lo que justamente me gustó, el final es una cosa increíble, aunque quedé un poco asqueada después de verla.

La moraleja creo que sería "nunca salgas con alguien demasiado joven", jajajajaja.

Por lo que vi en la Version de Hollywood no le hace justicia a la originla, por lo que ahre como que si no existiera jajajaja.

Definitivamente Oldboy es cine 🍷 🤣 Pero coño si estuvo el final muy enfermo jajajaj de verdad que fue inesperado, me encanta vale, tengo sentimientos encontrados en resumen 🤣

Hello @franzzonline thank you very much reminds me of this movie. Oldboy is one of the best Korean films I've ever watched. A complex story, and also full of plot twists. I want to watch it again, because I saw this post.
