La película empieza con un chico que se dedica a repartir periódico y mencionando que nadie es quien aparenta ser en los suburbios, que hasta las cosas mas horrendas llega a pasar en estos lugares, uno nunca se enteraría, con estas palabras, conocemos a Davey, un joven que vive en este lugar y que conforme vaya avanzando en la película, ira sospechando cada vez más y mas de que su vecino, un policía ejemplar y amigable, para llevar a cabo esta empresa, nuestro joven convencerá a sus panas de toda la vida, para ir juntando evidencia a fuerza de espionaje, un poco de invasión a la propiedad privada y con ayuda de algunos artilugios muy característicos de los 80s, sin embargo, aparentemente inocente aventura juvenil, se ira tornando lentamente, más oscura, ante la posibilidad, de que tal vez, este joven, tenga razón en sus declaraciones, cosa que no vamos a saber, si no hasta el final de película, donde confirmaremos o desmentiremos, las acusaciones que se le hacen a este aparente agente intachable de la ley.

Las impresiones que me dejo esta película, están más o menos en un espectro postivo, pero al mismo tiempo, no me termina de convencer por diversos motivos, no obstante, si empezamos hablando del suspenso, podemos decir que varias escenas están bien logradas, al menos para el publico más que no ha consumido tantas obras de terror o de suspenso, sin embargo, para un publico más experimentado y exigente, esta película se puede sentir como carente de momentos en los que uno verdaderamente puede sentirse intranquilo, pero, el acierto que le suma puntos a la película y que ayuda mucho a que el suspenso se mantenga en un nivel aceptable, ese tiene que ser el sonido que han escogido para cada momento de tensión, muy acertadas de verdad que aquí no veo nada para criticarle.

Lo que si veo criticable, es ritmo de la película que si bien, es un poco un mal necesario para lo que acontece en el final, tal vez, se pudo llevar de mejor manera, algo que no me gusto, es que no se hicieran nuevas propuestas o que algunas pistas no apuntaran a otros vecinos para hacer dudar al espectador de si efectivamente, los chicos no habían cometido algún error, nada de eso mi gente, desde los primeros minutos tendremos a un solo sospechoso y a partir de ahí, solo sera un tiempo de espera por ver cuantas pistas logran reunir los chicos sin que los descubran sus padres o el propio vecino del que sospechan tan fuertemente, me quede esperando por mas en este aspecto, pero salvo esos detalles, que van mas dentro de mis expectativas que de la calidad de la goza la pelicula, le tengo que reconocer una cosa este filme y que es muy entretenida de ver acompañado, de hecho, la disfrute en compañía de mi madre que ya conocía el final y mientras yo la veía por primera vez, le comentaba cuales eran mis sospechas a lo largo de la historia, algo que no es tan fácil de conseguir hoy en día, diría que no me sorprendió el que se terminara destapando la verdad, pero.... el tramo final, el tramo final es otra cosa mis hermanos.

Hasta el momento en que se revela la verdad, todo apuntaba a que terminaríamos con el típico y aburridisimo final cliché, en el que todos son felices, los malos pierden y nada resulto herido, arcoiris y colores para todos, pero, Verano del 84 rompe con aquello, y a cambio nos ofrece un muy necesario desenlace, en el que no solo nuestro protagonista sufre las consecuencias de meterse con alguien mucho más peligroso que el, si no que aparte, paga con sangre aquel que siempre le fue más leal a la su causa y cuya pequeñas muestras de la situación de su hogar, solo hacen uno lamente aun más su muerte, sin embargo, nuestro protagonista consigue salvar su vida, pero no porque alguien viniera a rescatarlo en ultimo momento, o porque de repente el asesino quiera redimirse, en cambio, este asesino reprime sus ganas de matarlo en ese mismo instante por considerarlo insuficiente, insatisfactorio, insuficiente castigo, por lo que decide, dejarlo vivir, para que recuerde todo lo que paso en este verano del 84, para que se pregunte, si algún dia, el también sufrira el mismo destino que sufrieron las victimas de hombre, y ese día, el regresara para asesinarlo.... Simplemente brutal esta escena.

Les recomiendo la película 😎 no son 5 estrellas pero cumple con entretener y tiene varias cosas que pueden hacer que alguien de aquella década pueda sentirse bastante identificado, la mejor opción es verla con amigos o con pareja, y si no también, solo se puede dejar querer, pero teniendo en cuenta que es mas de misterios juveniles y suspenso, que de terror en si misma, un saludo mis amigos, se les quiere siempre :)

Perece interesante, me agrada este tipo de trama que siempre tiene potencial, me gusta el hecho del misterio juvenil, por tu reseña, te pareció buena pero no te terminó de convencer, pero disfrutaste de un final que no esperabas.

Tal cual esa es mi opinión super resumida jajaja, esta bien para verla un día en compañía pero el final si esta algo potente, por lo que no la vería con niños tan pequeños por lo menos.
