Chainsaw Man: Un adolescente con una motosierra en la cabeza ¿Qué podría salir mal? / A teenager with a chainsaw on his head. What could go wrong? [ESP/ENG]

Chainsaw Man es uno de mis mangas favoritos de la “nueva era”, entre los que también entra Jujutsu Kaisen, el cual también tuvo su adaptación a anime por parte del estudio de animación “Mappa”, estudio el cual se está haciendo cargo de la adaptación de otros mangas como los que tambien puede ser Attack on Titan, además, desde hace semanas hay un rumor en internet (y por ahora es tan solo un rumor el cual quizás sea falso) que dice que Mappa tambien se va a encargar de adaptar la próxima temporada de One Punch Man, otro manga/anime excelente que tuvo una primera temporada con una animación espectacular y que para su segunda temporada cambiaron de estudio de animación y aunque personalmente considero que aunque no llega en términos de calidad a la animación de la primera temporada, la segunda temporada de One Punch Man está bastante bien adaptada, aunque hay un grupo de personas en internet a las que no les gustó, pero en fin, eso es tema para otro post.

Cuando se anunció que Mappa realizaría la adaptación a anime de Chainsaw Man me emocione bastante, ya que el trabajo realizado en Jujustu Kaisen fue espectacular y aunque no sigo por completo los capítulos de Attack On Titan, lo poco que había visto de la última temporada también pude ver un trabajo excelente, por lo que tenía muchas ganas de ver esta adaptación de uno de mis mangas favoritos y tenía muchas expectativas y dichas expectativas fueron cumplidas, ya que esta primera temporada de Chainsaw Man fue espectacular y sin duda fue uno de los mejores anime del año pasado, aunque tambien tengo que admitir que a nivel de “hype” fue un poco superado por Bleach, el cual tuvo un regreso triunfal y bastante merecido.

Para resumir un poco Chainsaw Man, la historia de este manga se centra en un mundo donde existen los demonios, pero dichos demonios son representaciones físicas de diversos miedos humanos, desde cosas intangibles como la oscuridad, a cosas más tangibles como al miedo a ciertos animales como lo pueden ser murciélagos o serpientes, hay mucha variedad de demonios representados en esta serie, muchas veces son demonios que, debido a su naturaleza no son muy poderosos, ya que dependiendo de la cantidad de miedo que tengan entren los humanos, este demonio puede ser o no, más poderoso. Y a lo largo de la historia de este manga podremos ver diversos demonios y variantes de ellos.

Denji es el protagonista de esa historia, un joven adolescente que desde niño quedó huérfano y con una deuda que debe pagar a la mafia Japonesa, ya que su padre no pudo pagarle a los mafiosos antes de morir, por lo que esa deuda fue heredada hacia a él y desde muy joven busca la manera de obtener dinero para poder comer y pagarle a la mafia, pero un dia su vida cambiaria ya que encuentra al denominado “Demonio Motosierra”, el cual se encontraba muy debilitado, pero desde ese momento hacen un “ contrato” el cual ellos se ayudaran mutuamente, y desde ese momento empieza su vida como “cazador de demonios privado”, pero aun asi, su vida sigue siendo una miseria ya que todo lo que gana o casi todo lo que gana haciendo diversos trabajos, hasta incluso vendiendo partes de su cuerpo es quitado por la mafia, por lo que su vida daría otro enorme cambio al conocer a Makima, la cual es una agente de la Agencia de Cazadores de demonios, siendo este uno de los giros en la vida de Denji, uno de los tantos giros que tendrá en su corta vida.

En términos de animación Mappa realizo un trabajo excelente, muchas personas se quejaron del uso del 3D en ciertos momentos de la historia, incluso en aquellos momentos donde realmente no se usó ese recurso, ya que mucha gente le gusta criticar por el simple hecho de hacerlo y realmente no se fijan bien lo que están viendo, hay muchos momentos donde pareciera que hay uso de 3D en ciertas escenas, pero realmente no hay ningún rastro de ese recurso de animación. Si comparamos el estilo de animación de Jujustu Kaisen y Chainsaw Man, a pesar de haber ciertas similitudes, también hay muchas más diferencias, ya que creo que Mappa quiso experimentar un poco en esta primera temporada de Chainsaw Man al darnos momentos donde la animación es algo totalmente espectacular y dinámico, con momentos de movimiento extremadamente fluidos y con un estilo artístico bastante sobresaliente.

Pero se podría decir que en términos de animación, esta primera temporada es casi 100% fiel al manga, con ciertas variantes en los ángulos de ciertos personajes y en la omisión de algunas escenas del segundo capítulo del manga (si no me equivoco) a pesar de eso es una adaptación realmente buena. Otro de los aspectos destacables con esta adaptación, es su excelente banda sonora, la cual encaja perfectamente con la historia alocada, bizarra y oscura de Chainsaw Man. Igualmente su opening el cual fue la canción de “opening de un anime”, más escuchada del año pasado, es perfectamente “Chainsaw Man”, al igual que los diversos Endings que tiene esta adaptación, ya que cada capítulo tiene un Ending diferente hecho por diversos artistas Japoneses, los cuales son canciones que representan de cierta manera lo ocurrido en ese capítulo en concreto, es simplemente espectacular.

Realmente por como termino esta temporada del anime, es justamente donde realmente empieza la historia de Chainsaw Man y cuando las cosas más alocadas y giros de tramas inesperados y situaciones absurdas van a ocurrir. Aun no hay fecha sobre una segunda temporada del anime y esto es algo que me pareció bastante raro por parte de Mappa, espero que no lo atrasen mucho, aunque actualmente Mappa se está haciendo cargo de muchos proyectos que se estrenan este año, junto con la última temporada de Attack on Titan y la segunda temporada del anime de Jujustu Kaisen, igualmente tengo muchas ganas de ver una segunda temporada de Chainsaw Man, ya que entre algunos capítulos de One Piece, la vuelta triunfal de Bleach y el anime de Cyberpunk, Chainsaw Man tambien fue de lo mejor del año pasado en términos de anime.

When it was announced that Mappa would make the anime adaptation of Chainsaw Man I was very excited, because the work done in Jujustu Kaisen was spectacular and although I do not follow completely the chapters of Attack On Titan, the little I had seen of the last season I could also see an excellent job, so I really wanted to see this adaptation of one of my favorite manga and I had high expectations and those expectations were fulfilled, as this first season of Chainsaw Man was spectacular and was undoubtedly one of the best anime of last year, although I also have to admit that at the level of "hype" was a little surpassed by Bleach, which had a triumphant return and quite deserved.

To summarize a little Chainsaw Man, the story of this manga focuses on a world where demons exist, but these demons are physical representations of various human fears, from intangible things like darkness, to more tangible things like fear of certain animals such as bats or snakes, there are many variety of demons represented in this series, many times they are demons that, due to their nature are not very powerful, because depending on the amount of fear that humans enter, this demon may or may not be more powerful. In terms of animation Mappa did an excellent job, many people complained about the use of 3D in certain moments of the story, even in those moments where this resource was not really used, since many people like to criticize for the simple fact of doing it and really do not look well what they are seeing, there are many moments where it seems that there is use of 3D in certain scenes, but really there is no trace of this resource of animation. If we compare the animation style of Jujustu Kaisen and Chainsaw Man, although there are certain similarities, there are also many more differences, as I think Mappa wanted to experiment a little in this first season of Chainsaw Man by giving us moments where the animation is something totally spectacular and dynamic, with moments of extremely fluid movement and with a quite outstanding artistic style.

But it could be said that in terms of animation, this first season is almost 100% faithful to the manga, with certain variations in the angles of certain characters and in the omission of some scenes from the second chapter of the manga (if I'm not mistaken) despite that it is a really good adaptation. Another remarkable aspect of this adaptation is its excellent soundtrack, which fits perfectly with the crazy, bizarre and dark story of Chainsaw Man. Likewise, its opening, which was the most listened "anime opening" song of last year, is perfectly "Chainsaw Man", as well as the different Endings that this adaptation has, since each chapter has a different Ending made by different Japanese artists, which are songs that represent in a certain way what happened in that particular chapter, it is simply spectacular.

Actually for how this season of the anime ended, it's exactly where the story of Chainsaw Man really begins and when the craziest things and unexpected plot twists and absurd situations are going to happen. There is still no date about a second season of the anime and this is something that I found quite strange from Mappa, I hope they don't delay it too much, although currently Mappa is taking care of many projects that are premiering this year, along with the last season of Attack on Titan and the second season of Jujustu Kaisen anime, I'm also looking forward to see a second season of Chainsaw Man, since between some episodes of One Piece, the triumphant return of Bleach and the Cyberpunk anime, Chainsaw Man was also one of the best of last year in terms of anime.
