Gen V: The excellent spin-off of The Boys [ENG-ESP]

Recently I have been having a habit regarding the consumption of any series, movie, video game or even a music album and if I am really interested in that product I try to find out the least of it before consuming it, this way at the time I am playing that movie or playing that video game, I have in real time all the surprises I can find. When the spin-off of one of the best superhero series, The Boys, was announced, I knew it would be a success, since the previous seasons of the original series were improving with the premiere of the next, leaving a pretty high bar that, although it is a series derived from another, should not fail to meet and Gen V the most recent spin-off of The Boys was a big surprise for me, because although I expected a certain quality, it really exceeded my expectations and left me wanting to see the 4th season of The Boys as well as a second season of Gen V or at least see some interaction between the characters of these two series, since the events of the Gen V series take place in the same universe as The Boys, only happening a few days before the upcoming premiere of the fourth season of The Boys.

Gen V focuses on a university of "Supers" where the future of each one and their possibility of being able to enter the podium of the greatest superheroes of that universe will be seen. This time we will see new characters and some that already appeared in the original series although their roles in this story are of lesser importance. One of the main characters is able to use blood as a weapon, both hers and the blood of others, using it in the form of cutting weapons, whips or is even able to increase the blood flow of a person causing a heart attack and as the series progresses her powers are improving or evolving. There will also be characters capable of controlling others with the simple touch, even being able to erase their memory or characters capable of controlling the meta. Since the story is centered in a "school" it is quite obvious what happens in it: partying, drugs and sex. But under that school facade hides something sinister and is that really all students are mere research for the "rector" of this institution in order to find a way to eliminate the "Super" once and for all.

Although at the beginning the series is not as crazy as The Boys, in the last two episodes of this first season the essence of the original series can be noticed even more, death, visors everywhere, blood and unbridled violence is what happens the most in the last minutes of the last episode. In Gen V a virus capable of making a "Super" sick to the point of killing him is created and although the next objective could not be achieved with this virus, which was to mutate it to the point of being totally infectious and thus make all the "Super" of the planet sick, was not eliminated and it is more than sure that this virus will have a lot of importance in the fourth season of The Boys, which I'm not sure if it will be the last, I think it will at least have a fifth season and before that a second season of Gen V, but what I'm pretty sure is that the end of this universe of the most bizarre and violent superheroes is near.

Recientemente he estado teniendo una costumbre en lo que respecta al consumo de alguna serie, película, videojuego o incluso algún álbum musical y es que si tengo realmente interés en ese producto intento averiguar lo mínimo de él antes de consumirlo, de esta forma al momento en el que este videojuego esa película o jugando a ese videojuego, tener en tiempo real todas las sorpresas que pueda encontrar. Cuando se anunció el spin-off de una de la mejores series de superhéroes, The Boys, sabía que sería un existo, ya que las anteriores temporadas de las serie original iban mejorando con el estreno de la siguiente, dejando un listón bastante alto que, aunque sea una serie derivada de otra, no debería de dejar de cumplir y Gen V el más reciente spin-off de The Boys fue una gran sorpresa para mí, ya que a pesar de que me esperaba cierta calidad, realmente superó mis expectativas y me dejó así como de ver la 4ta temporada de The Boys, también me dejó grandes ganas de ver una segunda temporada de Gen V o al menos una ver interacción entre los personajes de estas dos series, ya que los acontecimientos de la serie Gen V ocurren en el mismo universo que el de The Boys, tan solo sucediendo unos días antes del próximo estreno de la cuarta temporada de The Boys.

Gen V centra en una universidad de “Supers” donde en ella se verá el futuro de cada uno y su posibilidad de poder entrar al podio de los superhéroes más grandes de ese universo. Esta vez veremos nuevos personajes y algunos que ya aparecieron en la serie original aunque sus roles en esta historia son de menor importancia. Una de las protagonistas es capaz de usar la sangre como arma, tanto la de ella como la sangre de los demás, usándola en forma de armas cortantes, látigos o incluso es capaz de aumentar el flujo sanguíneo de una persona provocándole un infarto y a medida que avanza la serie sus poderes van mejorando o evolucionando. También habrán personajes capaz de controlar a otros con el simple tacto, hasta incluso poder borrarles la memoria o personajes capaz de controlar el meta. Debido a que la historia está centrada en una “escuela” es bastante obvio lo que sucede en ella: fiesta, drogas y sexo. Pero bajo esa facha de escuela se esconde algo siniestro y es que realmente todos los estudiantes son mera investigación para la “rectora” de esta institución con el fin de encontrar una forma de como eliminar a los “Super” de una vez por todas.

Si bien en un inicio la serie no es tan alocada como The Boys, en los últimos dos episodios de esta primera temporada se pueden notar aún más la esencia de la serie original, muerte, viseras por doquier, sangre y violencia desenfrenada es lo que más ocurre en los últimos minutos del último episodio. En Gen V se logra crear un virus capaz de enfermar a un “Super” hasta el punto de matarlo y aunque no se pudo lograr el próximo objetivo con este virus, el cual era mutarlo a tal punto de ser totalmente infeccioso y de esta forma enfermar a todos los “Super” del planeta, no fue eliminado y es más que seguro que este virus tendrá mucha importancia en la cuarta temporada de The Boys, la cual no estoy seguro si será la última, yo creo que al menos tendrá una quinta temporada y antes de eso una segunda temporada de Gen V, pero de lo que estoy bastante seguro es que se acerca el final de este universo de los superhéroes más bizarros y violentos que hay.
