One Piece: FILM RED: Too many songs / Demasiadas canciones [ENG-ESP]

One Piece is my favorite manga without any doubt, it has displaced my old favorite manga quite easily, among which were Naruto and Bleach. Also, occupying the first position of my favorite manga became very easy to One Piece due to the bad rhythm and bad endings that both Naruto and Bleach had (although Bleach, thanks to its new anime and its last special chapter has had a spectacular resurrection). For that and many other reasons One Piece is my favorite manga and its anime, although it was never my favorite has always been in the top 10 always of favorite Anime, but recently due to the improvement and changes in the animation from the Wano story arc, the One Piece anime has moved up a few steps in my personal top of favorite anime. But today's topic is not done with the One Piece anime, but on its most recent movie which was released last year, but until yesterday I was able to watch it for the first time.

The One Piece movies are not part of the official canon of the manga's main story, however, there are some movies that have elements that are considered canon and are even important moments in the main story. However, it is safe to say that, the One Piece movies take place in an "alternate universe", since their events do not fit within what is currently happening in the manga, but despite that, it is still something interesting to see, since in addition, you can see things that in the anime have not yet been adapted, as an aspect that I will mention a little later.

One Piece FILM RED is the most recent One Piece movie released, its story focuses on the supposed daughter of Shanks (one of the most mysterious and important characters in the history of this manga. Uta (Shanks' daughter) has quite a sad story with Shanks, since her childhood she met Luffy and they were friends until one day she didn't return to Shanks' ship. Uta through his manga wants to create a "New Age" with which he wants everyone to be happy, a bit utopian dream especially in the world of the Age of pirates, where violence, racism and power of the greatest is the main thing. When they announced this movie everyone (me included) was very excited because it seemed that Sanos, which is the most mysterious character of One Piece by far, would be the main character of this story, but in the end he wasn't and his participation in this movie was to appear in a few flashbacks so we could understand Uta's story and then he appeared almost at the end of the movie for the final battle.

In terms of action I did not like this movie too much, compared to the previous movie One Piece: Stampede, One Piece: FILM RED lags behind, besides, being the protagonist of this movie a singer (i.e. UTA) there are many songs to such an extent that I consider this movie a kind of musical, being this a genre of movies that I do not like much, but at least, in terms of story FILM RED brings something even to the main story of the manga, although not many things, because we must not forget that this movie is not canon, but there are certain elements of Shanks that are and will be important in the story of the manga. In addition, although and I repeat again, the events of this movie are not canon, the character of Uta, from what was seen in a chapter of the manga that came out last year, this character did exist in the main story of the manga, although I'm pretty sure that Oda (creator of One Piece) did not delve more into the history of Uta and Shanks in the manga.

I won't say that this movie disappointed me, but at least I expected a little more action, although I have to admit that Shanks' moments in this movie, especially his final scenes, are spectacular, because even though it was in a movie, after many years we could finally see something of this character's way of fighting. Also, in this movie there is a certain spoiler for those who only watch the anime, since one of Luffy's most recent transformations is the Gear 5, which has not yet appeared in the anime, but for the first time appeared in an audio/visual video, being this One Piece: Film and although it was only for a few seconds, I think it was not a good decision and was only to advertise this movie. To close, FILM RED is not a bad movie, but it's not at all what I expected, even so, it's worth watching if you are a big fan of One Piece.

One Piece es mi manga favorito sin ningún tipo de dudas, ha desplazado a mis antiguos mangas favoritos con bastante facilidad, entre los que se encontraban Naruto y Bleach. Además, ocupar la primera posición de mis mangas favoritos se le hizo muy fácil a One Piece debido al mal ritmo y malos finales que tuvieron tanto Naruto como Bleach (aunque Bleach, gracias a su nuevo anime y a su último capítulo especial ha tenido una resurrección espectacular). Por eso y muchos otros motivos One Piece es mi manga favorito y su anime, aunque nunca fue mi favorito siempre ha estado en el 10 siempre de Anime favoritos, pero recientemente debido a la mejora y cambios en la animación a partir del arco argumental de Wano, el anime de One Piece ha subido algunos escalones en mi top personal de animes favoritos. Pero el tema de hoy no está realizado con el anime de One Piece, sino en su más reciente película la cual fue estrenada el año pasado, pero hasta el dia de ayer fui capaz de verla por primera vez.

Las películas de One Piece no forman parte del canon oficial de la historia principal del manga, sin embargo, hay algunas películas que cuentan con elementos que son considerados canon e incluso son momentos importantes en la historia principal. Sin embargo, se puede decir con seguridad que, las películas de One Piece ocurren en un “universo alterno”, ya que sus hechos no encajan dentro de lo que está ocurriendo actualmente en el manga, pero a pesar de eso, no deja de ser algo interesante de ver, ya que además, se pueden ver cosas que en el anime aún no han sido adaptadas, como un aspecto que mencionaré un poco más adelante.

One Piece FILM RED es la más reciente película de One Piece estrenada, su historia se centra en la supuesta hija de Shanks (uno de los personajes más misteriosos e importantes de la historia de este manga. Uta (la hija de Shanks) tiene una historia bastante triste con Shanks, desde su niñez conoció a Luffy y fueron amigos hasta que un día ella no volvió al barco de Shanks. Uta a través de su manga quiere crear una “Nueva Era” con la cual quiere que todo el mundo sea feliz, un sueño un poco utópico especialmente en el mundo de la Era de los piratas, donde la violencia, racismo y poder de los más grandes es lo principal. Cuando anunciaron esta película todo el mundo (yo incluido) estábamos muy emocionados debido a que parecía que Sanos, el cual es el personaje más misterioso de One Piece con gran diferencia, sería el protagonista de esta historia, pero al final no lo fue y su participación en esta película fue aparecer en unos cuantos flashbacks para que pudiéramos entender la historia de Uta y luego apareció casi al final de la película para la batalla final.

En términos de acción esta película no me gustó demasiado, a comparación con la película anterior One Piece: Stampede, One Piece: FILM RED se queda atrás, además, al ser la protagonista de esta película una cantante (es decir UTA) hay muchas canciones a tal punto que considero que esta película es un tipo de musical, siendo este un género de películas que no me gusta mucho, pero al menos, en términos de historia FILM RED aporta algo incluso a la historia principal del manga, aunque no muchas cosas, porque no hay que olvidar que esta película no es canon, pero hay ciertos elementos de Shanks que son y serán importantes en la historia del manga. Además, aunque y lo vuelvo a repetir, los eventos de esta película con son canon, el personaje de Uta, por lo que se vio en un capítulo del manga que salió el año pasado, este personaje si existió en la historia principal del manga, aunque estoy bastante seguro que Oda (creador de One Piece) no indagara más en la historia de Uta y Shanks en el manga.

No diré que esta película me decepciono, pero al menos esperaba un poco más de acción, aunque tengo que admitir que los momentos de Shanks en esta película, especialmente sus escenas finales, son espectaculares, porque aunque haya sido en una película, luego de muchísimos años por fin se pudo ver algo de la forma de pelea de este personaje. Además, en esta película hay cierto spoiler para aquellas personas que solo vean el anime, ya que, una de las más recientes transformaciones de Luffy es el Gear 5, la cual aún no ha aparecido en el anime, pero por primera vez apareció en un video audio/visual, siendo este One Piece: Film y aunque fue tan solo por unos segundos, creo que no fue una buena decisión y tal solo fue para publicitar esta película. Para cerrar, FILM RED no es una mala película, pero no es nada lo que me esperaba, aun así, vale la pena mirarla si eres muy fan de One Piece.
