I've already finished watching the adaptation of one of my favorite games: The Last Of Us and I must say that it is one of the best adaptations of a video game to date, but still, there are certain things and elements that I didn't like too much, but overall it is a high quality product and highly recommended for those who have or haven't played the video game. It is an experience and adventure worth seeing.

The Last Of Us was one of the first games I played on PS3 and even though at the time I already knew several things about its story and especially its outcome since I had seen several gameplays some years before I could play it on my own, despite that, it didn't spoil my experience at all when playing it for the first time. Even after completing the game for the first time, I was able to complete it on various difficulties (with the exception of the highest difficulty as I found it to be a bit too difficult and no longer had enough patience at that point). Really The Last Of Us is an excellent game, the best in its generation and despite its remakes and remasterings, which look spectacular, its first version, the PS3, despite so many years it still looks spectacular. The Last Of Us is one of the few games that can have a very good adaptation to the big screen or in series format, its plot and characters made it a worthy product to adapt, that is why when a series adaptation of this game was announced and even more, being a product where the creators of the game and HBO were included in its development my expectations were very high.

I had some problems with some of the actors chosen, especially with the actress who would play the character of Ellie, as she doesn't look like her, however, her performance was one of the best of this series, it was quite in line with her video game counterpart. Joel was also a good casting choice, because although he doesn't look like his video game counterpart either, Pedro Pascal did an excellent job, this way, the Live Action versions of Joel and Ellie make a duo almost as good as the one in the video game. However there were aspects that I really did not like, the episode focused on the life of Bill and Frank, is something totally unique to the series and that's something that is fine, however, I think this episode I would have liked more if they had included Joel and Tess more in that story, as the story of Frank and Bill was extended a lot in that episode. Another aspect I didn't like about the series is that there are hardly any infected. While it is known that one of the aspects of the video game and this story is that, in addition to the infected, the human being is the main enemy, the threat emanating from the infected in the video game is very latent and always has you alert to any situation and I think that not having included so much of the infected in the series is something that I did not like too much, especially because their Live Action versions were spectacular and really are a very faithful adaptation to the original product.

One aspect that I noticed towards the last three episodes is that Joel's attitude is a little different from his video game counterpart, that is, in the video game Joel is a tough man, who does not show his feelings and is practically a killing machine, but his Live Action version, despite still being a killing machine, his relationship with Ellie "softens" a little faster compared to the video game, to the point that Joel comes to tell Ellie that he tried to kill himself and be a little more "affectionate" with her, his relationship with Ellie "softens" a little faster compared to the video game, to the point that Joel tells Ellie that he tried to commit suicide and be a little more "affectionate" with her, something that in the video game is the opposite and there are few moments where Joel is able to show his feelings. I think this is due to a time factor, since in a video game there is more time to develop these moments, I even think that in the series they did it this way so that when what is going to happen in the second season happens, those moments are harder for the audience.

At the time of writing this, just about 30 minutes ago I finished watching the last episode, which adapts the rescue of Ellie by Joel and the massacre he performs in the hospital in order to rescue her and let's say that this part is much more accelerated than in the video game, since in the video game there are more moments and (again) there is time to create the necessary tension for that denouement. Despite some elements and aspects that I did not like too much, this is one of the best adaptations of a video game to date, there are many references to the video game and the addition of introducing to the story the voice actors of Joel and Ellie from the video game, was a spectacular detail, but even so, although I consider this to be one of the best series of this year, I still prefer the video game over the series.
