The Nice Guys: This movie deserves a sequel

Not long ago I saw a video that was about "movies that deserve a sequel", in that video there were movies that I already knew and had seen, others that I knew but I wasn't interested in seeing and then there was the movie that I will talk about today: The Nice Guys and after having seen it, it is indeed a movie that needs and deserves a sequel, but I think that because it is a 2016 movie and being already almost in 2026, it seems to me that that sequel will not be able to be made and I really would have liked them to make it because it is a pretty good movie and it fits perfectly with my style of humor.

No hace mucho vi un video que se trataba sobre “películas que merecen una secuela”, en dicho video habían películas que ya conocía y habia visto, otras que conocía pero no me interesaba ver y luego estaba la película de la cual hablaré hoy: The Nice Guys y luego de haberla visto, efectivamente es una película que necesita y merece una secuela, pero creo que debido a que es una película del 2016 y estando ya casi en el 2026, me parece que esa secuela no se podrá hacer y realmente me hubiese gustado que la hicieran porque es una película bastante buena y encaja perfectamente con mi estilo de humor.

The Nice Guys is a film that perfectly mixes police cinema with black and absurd humor, but also under this humorous genre there is also a plot where the protagonists must solve a crime of corruption. The story follows the duo of protagonists played by Ryan Gosling and Russell Crow, while Gosling is a private detective, Holland March character plays a character full of mistakes and family problems and Crowe's character named Jackson Healy is a character characterized by being a tough guy and his job is to take on jobs such as intimidating people for hire. This duo of protagonists who at the beginning have a somewhat violent encounter, are involved in a system of corruption quite deep and dangerous which they must take care of solving it.

The Nice Guys es una película que mezcla perfectamente el cine policial junto con el humor negro y absurdo, pero que además bajo ese género humorístico también se encuentra con argumento donde los protagonistas deberán resolver un crimen de corrupción. La historia sigue al dúo de protagonistas interpretados por Ryan Gosling y Rusell Crow, mientras que Gosling es un detective privado, personaje Holland March funge como un personaje lleno de errores y problemas familiares y el personaje de Crowe llamado Jackson Healy es un personaje que se caracteriza por ser un tipo rudo y su trabajo es encargarse de trabajos como intimidar a personas por encargo. Este dúo de protagonistas los cuales al principio tienen un encuentro algo violento, se ven envueltos en un sistema de corrupción bastante profundo y peligroso del cual deberán encargarse de resolverlo.

This duo of protagonists must take on the case of the disappearance of a woman, which although it might seem a "simple" case, as I said before, under that facade is a wide network of corruption involving the head of the police department, pornography and murder. The chemistry of the characters played by Ryan Gosling and Russell Crow is palpable, their obvious differences but at the same time similarities make the story develops in an enjoyable, entertaining and funny way, plus we will be able to witness by these characters and others, a story full of humor and absurd moments.

Este duo de protagonistas deberán encargarse del caso de desaparición de una mujer, el cual aunque podría parecer un caso “simple”, como ya dije anteriormente, bajo esa fachada se encuentra una amplia red de corrupción que involucra a la jefa del departamento de la policía, la pornografía y el asesinato. La química de los personajes interpretados por Ryan Gosling y Rusell Crow es palpable, sus evidentes diferencias pero a la vez similitudes hacen que la historia de desarrolle de forma amena, entretenida y divertida, además de que vamos a poder presenciar por parte de estos personajes y de otros más, una historia llena de humor y de momento absurdos.

Ryan Gosling's character manages to create a pretty good physical humor, your acting work with this character is worthy of the most classic films of this genre, while the character played by Crow brings rudeness, violence, but in the background is a character quite honest for his duty, although with obvious imperfections, which make these two characters endear themselves quite easily. The dynamic we see in this film is quite classic, on the one hand we see a young man who although quite good in his branch of work, lacks certain experiences and on the other hand, we have a character with more years of experience and that brings a lot on the moral side and maturity.

El personaje de Ryan Gosling logra crear un humor físico bastante bueno, tu trabajo actoral con este personaje es digno de las películas más clásicas de este género, mientras que el personaje interpretado por Crow aporta rudeza, violencia, pero en el fondo es un personaje bastante honrado por su deber, aunque con evidentes imperfecciones, las cuales hacen que estos dos personajes se hagan de querer con bastante facilidad. La dinámica que vemos en esta película es bastante clásica, por una parte vemos a un joven que aunque bastante bueno en su rama de trabajo, carece de ciertas experiencias y por otra parte, tenemos a un personaje con más años de experiencia y que aporta bastante en el lado moral y en la madurez.

What stands out the most about this film is its humor, it is its central axis and I really did not expect to have so much fun, it does not have stupid jokes, but under that absurdity it is quite intelligent, very ironic and full of black humor, but without getting tired, but it is balanced enough for everyone to see it. Really this is a movie that deserves a sequel and it's a shame that already being The Nice Guys a 2016 movie and already being in 2025 it hasn't had its deserved sequel let alone any sign that it's going to be made. But still this is a movie that is extremely worth watching and I would watch it a couple more times.

Lo que más destaca a este película es su humor, es su eje central y realmente no me esperaba que me fuese a divertir tanto, no cuenta con chistes estúpidos, sino que bajo esa absurdez es bastante inteligente, muy irónico y lleno de humor negro, pero sin llegar a cansancio, sino que es lo suficientemente equilibrado como para que todo el mundo lo pueda ver. Realmente esta es una película que merece una secuela y es una lástima que ya siendo The Nice Guys una película del 2016 y ya estando en el 2025 no haya tenido su merecida secuela y mucho menos alguna señal de que se vaya a hacer. Pero aun así esta es una película que vale muchísimo la pena mirar y la miraría un par de veces más.
