Designated Survivor; Let's Talk About My Favorite Political TV Series ||| CineTv Contest #38

I started watching designated survivor mainly because of my love for Keifer Sutherland and because of his wonderful performance in 24 hours. I was thrilled and hooked from the beginning until the end of the three seasons.

It is a blend of 24hours and house of Cards kind of, the best political show ever made combining heavy emotions with action.

The first episode premiered on September 21, 2016, and run till June 7, 2019.

Designated survivor Tell a story of how an unambitious, naive and complete gentleman, a low cabinet of United States, Secretary of Housing and Urban Development suddenly has to raise to the position of the President of the United States of America, following an unfortunate incident that claimed the lives of all higher ranking officials in the line of succession.

Keifer Sutherland as Tom Kirkman portrays a lovely and kind-hearted father, a great husband, and a good leader who without prior ambition or experience has to struggle to lead the most powerful nation on Earth out of a terrible period they found themselves. As an independent candidate, he will have to fight and find a balance in Governing the country between the two major political parties The Republicans and the Democrats.

The suspense in this series is how someone so naive, shy, and unambitious as Tom Kirkman will navigate the office of the most difficult job on earth and grow into a confident, strong, and fine leader.

Keifer Sutherland as Tom was not the only one that attracted me to this series but another of my favorite actress; Maggie Q as Hannah Wells whom I haven't seen takes any major roles since the time of Nikita, it pleases me a lot seeing her have a lot of screen time in this series.

My other favorites in the series; are the president's special adviser, Aaron Shore; A Young and handsome-looking guy, though he sucks at keeping stable relationships he is great at his job.

_{Italia Ricci as Emily Rhodes}

The president's chief of staff,Emily Rhodes; is a strong, loyal, and high-level-headed young lady who is married to her job. Watching her play the role of chief of staff to the president makes me feel so much confidence in myself like I can achieve anything I put my mind to. Her confidence as a young lady left a great impression on my heart.

The president's press secretary, Seth Wright is another interesting guy you might want to look out for, you can actually wish he is the real press secretary of the United States of America because of how good he is with the job. what makes these guys so attractive was how they were hard-working, charming, and loyal to their boss.

Why do I choose this series as my favorite?

I love political shows that shared light on the political happening of a nation or a country before this show, I wasn't that conversant with 9/11 but this kind of took my attention to what went down, how the Americans struggle through the tough time and, I'm glad I watched it. It is a very insightful series about the different political players in the American Nation. And so many lessons to be learned from it.

One of my favorite sense was when Tom was talking to his daughter Little Pee on the phone to wish her good night. The relationship between them was just so adorable and it melt my heart. It reminds me of how close I was with my dad when I was around her age. My dad will check up on me at night countless times just to make sure I covered my body well enough with a blanket.

Created by David Guggenheim and produced by Ann Kindberg. The first two seasons were aired by ABC Network while the third season was picked up by Netflix exclusively.

Final words; if you like to be entertained, and have some more political insight into the political players of the united states then you should watch this series. I will rate the show out of 9/10 in all the performances.
