Greetings, friends. A while ago, I went to see Superman at the cinema, but I hadn't had time to sit down and write about my experience watching this movie. I remember seeing it even before watching Fantastic Four: First Steps, but honestly, I liked Superman better and, in my opinion, it's the best movie about this character.

Saludos amigos. Hace un buen tiempo fui a ver Superman al Cine, pero no había tenido el tiempo de sentarme a escribir sobre mi experiencia viendo esta película. Recuerdo que la vi incluso antes de ver los 4 Fantásticos Primeros Pasos, pero sinceramente Superman me gustó más y en mi opinión, es la mejor película de este personaje.

As I said, yes, I went to see it at the cinema, because I think that these kinds of films should be seen at the cinema, because I feel that they are more than just films, they are cinematic events that you have to experience, rather than just hear about.

Como dije, sí, fui a verla al cine, porque yo pienso que este tipo de películas hay que verlas en el cine, porque siento que más que películas son eventos cinematográficos que hay que vivir, en lugar que te los cuenten.

Well, after this brief introduction, I will tell you, also briefly, what I thought of this movie.

You see, the last movie I consider to be about Superman was “Superman vs. Batman.” I say this because “Justice League” (even Snyder's version) is not a movie about Superman, but about another conflict. That is a rather dark film about the character, always seeking to give it a somber, very serious, and solemn tone.

I feel that this Superman, the same one from Man of Steel, is not the Superman I know from the comics, or at least most of the comics I have read. I feel that Superman should represent joy, hope, security, not fear, insecurity, conflict, depression, or anything like that. These negative feelings were what inspired those films, similar to what Watchmen (also directed by Snyder) was at the time.

Bien, después de este breve preámbulo les comentaré, también de manera breve, qué me pareció esta película.

Verán, la última película que considero que es de Superman fue "Superman Vs Batman". Digo esto porque ya la "Justice League" (incluso la de Snyder) no es una película que trate de Superman, sino de otro conflicto. Aquella es una película bastante oscura del personaje, siempre buscando dar un tinte sombrío, muy serio y solemne.

Siento que este, el mismo de "Man Of Steel", no es el Superman que yo conozco de los comics, o al menos la mayoría de los comics que yo he leído. Siento que Superman debe representar alegría, esperanza, seguridad, no miedos, inseguridades, conflicto, depresión ni mucho menos. Estos sentimientos negativos fueron los que me inspiraron aquellas películas, siendo similar a lo que en su momento fue "Watchmen" (también dirigida por Znyder).

Now, when I saw this new Superman movie, I felt a stark contrast with everything I had seen of this character, who is certainly the mainstay of DC, just as the Fantastic Four are also the mainstay of Marvel, at least in the comics and at the time.

It's almost poetic that these two films were released in the same season, because it feels like the rebirth of two companies that were having problems with their respective cinematic universes, DC to a greater extent than Marvel, but both with problems.

While Superman is not the best superhero movie of the character, I do feel that it conveys a large part of what Superman is in the comics.

Ahora bien, cuando vi esta nueva película de Superman, sentí un gran contraste con todo lo que había visto de este personaje, que ciertamente es el pilar principal de DC, así como los 4 Fantásticos también son pilar de Marvel al menos en los Comics y en su momento.

Es casi poético que estas dos películas se estrenaran en la misma temporada, porque huele a que es el renacimiento de dos compañías que tenían problemas con sus respectivos Universos Cinematográficos, DC en mayor medida que Marvel, pero ambas con problemas.

Si bien Superman no es la mejor película de superhéroes del personaje, si siento que trasmite una gran parte de lo que es el Superman de los Comics.

What am I basing these statements on? Well, just watch the movie. I remember seeing this Superman costume and thinking “Comic” everywhere, because it retains many of the iconic features of that 1980s costume, such as the red tights with a yellow belt and the yellow “S” on the back of the cape.

That's in terms of the visuals; now, as for Superman's personality, that's how it should be, always seeking to save everyone, whether you're a tiny squirrel or a giant Kaiju seeking to destroy Metropolis. Superman always looks for an alternative solution to killing, something that can be seen in the Kaiju scene and his disappointment at how that conflict ended at the hands of the Justice Gang.

¿En qué me baso para decir estas cosas? Pues basta con ver la película. Recuerdo que al ver este traje de Superman decía "Comic" por todos lados, porque conserva mucha de las cosas icónicos de ese traje ochentero como los calzones rojos con un cinturón amarillo y la "S" amarilla en la parte trasera de la capa.

Eso en el apartado visual; ahora bien, en cuanto a la personalidad de Superman, pues así es como debe ser, siempre buscando salvar a todos sin importar si eres una diminuta ardilla o un Kaiju gigante que busca destruir metrópolis. Superman siempre busca una solución alternativa a la de matar, algo que se ve en al escena del Kaiju y su decepción al ver cómo terminó aquel conflicto en manos de la Justice Gang.

Another character who stands out in the film is Clark Kent, because yes, he is a different character from Superman. In fact, one of the things I liked most was seeing Clark Kent at the Daily Planet.

This wasn't shown much, because the film certainly moves at a fast pace. However, what little we did see of this Clark Kent is quite representative of what Clark is really like, especially the moment when Jimmy Olsen congratulates him on his front page by “hitting” him with the newspaper. That scene (although brief) was hilarious to me, because you see a man over 6 feet tall acting in a very relaxed and playful manner, to say the least.

Also, I feel like Mom and Dad Kent are too adorable and we should have seen more of them, because the moments they appear in are certainly touching. In fact, in that same scene where Clark arrives at the Daily Planet, Mom and Dad are calling Clark and it's certainly the typical conversation a son would have with his parents.

Otro personaje diferente de la película es Clark Kent, porque sí, es un personaje diferente a Superman. De hecho, una de las cosas que más me gustó fue eso, ver a Clark Kent en el Daily Planet.

Esto no se vio demasiado, porque ciertamente el ritmo de la película es rápido. Sin embargo, lo poco que se vio de este Clark Kent es bastante representativo de cómo es realmente Clark, sobre todo el momento en el que Jimmy Olsen lo felicita por su primera página "golpeándolo" con el periódico. Esa escena (aunque breve) para mi fue hilarante, porque se ve a un hombre de más 1.90 actuando de manera muy relajada y juguetona, por no usar otro término.

Además, siento que mamá y papá Kent son demasiado adorables y debimos ver más sobre ellos dos, porque los momentos en que aparecen son ciertamente conmovedores. De hecho, en esa misma escena en la que Clark llega al Daily Planet, mamá y papá están llamando a Clark y ciertamente es la típica conversación que tendría un hijo con sus padres.

And what about the action, the other heroes and villains? Well, there's a lot I could say, but I'd like to mention that the film's climax is simply epic. The way Superman defeats all his enemies is impressive, especially when he faces Lex Luthor's “Raptors.”

In addition to Superman, there is the Justice Gang, which indicates that there are more superheroes in this new universe. However, despite having so many heroes, this universe does not feel overloaded. On the contrary, each one has their moment, and on many occasions, the Justice Gang is a great help in resolving the conflict, something that Superman obviously could not resolve alone.

Why can't he do it alone? Because it is precisely here in the film that we see the best adaptation of Superman's villain, Lex Luthor. Be honest, did you hate Lex Luthor in the film? I did, and that means he did an excellent job as a villain, complicating everything for Superman with the help of Ultraman, who, in my opinion, should be developed further in the future.

¿Y en cuanto a la acción. los otros héroes y villanos? Pues habría muchas cosas que podría decir, pero me gustaría mencionar que el climax de la película es simplemente épico. La manera en como Superman se deshace de todos los enemigos es impresionante, sobre todo cuando enfrenta a los "Raptors" de Lex Luthor.

Además de Superman, está la Justice Gang, lo que indica que hay más Superhéroes en este nuevo universo. Sin embargo, a pesar de haber tantos héroes, no se siente sobrecargado este universo, al contrario, cada uno tiene su momento y en muchas ocasiones la Justice Gang es de gran ayuda para resolver todo el conflicto, algo que evidentemente Superman no podría resolver solo.

¿Por qué no puede solo? Porque precisamente aquí en la película vemos la mejor adaptación de EL villano de Superman, Lex Luthor. Sé sincero ¿Odiaste al Lex Luthor de la película? Yo si y eso quiere decir que lo hizo excelente como villano, complicándole todo a Superman de la mano de un Ultraman que, en mi opinión, debería tener más desarrollo a futuro.

Despite the villain and all the complications, Superman manages to save the day, but, as I said, not alone. See the image above? That's Mr. Terrific. He's the other hero in the movie who steals the show because, along with Superman, he played an important role in saving Metropolis from Lex Luthor's madness.

However, in addition to Mr. Terrific, who was also a great help to Superman and a character who stole the hearts of many of us who saw the movie... there was Krypto.

He is one of the most innocent, wild, and adorable characters in the movie, so more Krypto and fewer scares with him, please. Let him live and don't kill him in any of the future Superman movies...

A pesar del villano y todas las complicaciones, Superman logra salvar el día pero, como dije, no solo. ¿Ven la imagen de arriba? Ahí está Mr. Terrific. Este es el otro héroe de la película que se roba el Show, porque fue, además de Superman, un punto importante para lograr salvar metrópolis de las locuras de Lex Luthor.

Sin embargo, además de Mr. Terrific, quien también fue de gran ayuda para Superman y un personaje que se robó el corazón de muchos que vimos la película... fue Krypto.

Es uno de los personajes mas inocentes, salvajes y adorables de la película, así que más de Krypto y menos sustos con él, que viva y no lo maten en ninguna de las furutas entregas de Superman, por favor...

In short, it's the best Superman movie I've ever seen, the one with the most heart, made for the whole family, packed with action, fantasy, science fiction, and entertainment so that everyone can enjoy and get to know a character who symbolizes hope, joy, and a new beginning for this universe as fantastic as the DC universe.

En resumen, es la mejor película de Superman que he visto, la que más corazón tiene, hecha para toda la familia, cargada de acción, de fantasía, ciencia ficción y entretenimiento para que todo el mundo pueda disfrutar y conocer a un personaje que simboliza esperanza, alegría y un nuevo comienzo para este universo tan fantástico como lo es el universo de DC.
